I am at a point where the issues with this game feel so obvious, yet they never get addressed. The biggest problem in EAFC right now is that the gameplay experience is inconsistent. Nothing else even comes close. I can log in one night and the game feels fast, smooth, and responsive. Switching works, left stick dribbling feels clean, and animations connect properly. Then I log in the next day and it feels like a completely different title. Inputs delay, switching is slow, and everything feels heavy. This is not a small difference. It is night and day.

I should not be able to tell whether I am playing at 100 percent or 70 percent gameplay quality based on how the mechanics respond. Yet with this game, I can. And everyone feels it across Champs, Rivals, Draft, and all platforms. When the gameplay is bad, nothing in the patch notes matters. I cannot feel the changes through the delay. When the gameplay is good, it is obvious right away. The basic experience should not change every time I log in.

On top of that, the attempt to create a “real football simulation” does not translate into enjoyable game design. Real football has mismatches, unique attacking patterns, and teams with identity. In EAFC, everything gets boiled down to low defensive blocks, linear runs, and counter through balls. Trying to run anything creative or tactical usually gets punished instantly, not because the tactics are wrong, but because the middle of the pitch is wide open and defensive positioning is inconsistent.

In older titles, formations like the 41212 had natural balance. You had proper spacing, fluid movement, and attackers who actually made interesting runs. Now everything feels limited because of how roles and AI behavior are designed. Players stick to their lanes, attacking movement is predictable, and every match looks the same. You do not see the personality of a formation because the game funnels everyone into one style of play.

The patch cycle only makes this worse. Each patch seems to slow the game down and make the AI more robotic. Early in the cycle you needed manual defending. Now defenders track runs for you, even when they should not. You can execute a clean skill move and the defender still attaches to you. That was not happening at launch. The more patches we get, the less fun the gameplay feels.

Rewards have also lost their magic. Share plays and constant pack content removed the excitement of big pulls. Players that used to feel rare now show up everywhere. Opening packs does not feel special when clips of the same packs flood every feed. This also hurt gameplay creators because people stopped caring about long form reviews or deep gameplay analysis. They only care about metas, tactics, and who just came out of a pack. The identity of the mode shifted from creative team building to endless promo hopping.

The grind barely feels worth it. Going 14 wins in Champs and getting nothing of value is deflating. Rivals rewards are weak, and the matchmaking is so tight that you cannot even enjoy using fun squads. Gauntlet is the only mode that feels somewhat enjoyable because you see variety, but even there the matchmaking can be sweaty and repetitive.
