Dear EA, I’m not angry with you and I don’t want to take it out on you.
I’m angry at all those players who demand realism. They’re usually unskilled and can’t play; they call for the CPU’s help because their fingers can’t manage to press one or two buttons together.
These people want realism in a game where women compete against men, in a game with “playstyles” (very realistic 😂), in a game where there’s no real sense of running.
Want to concede fewer goals? Make matches shorter.
Want slower gameplay? Play Career Mode — it’s the most suitable gameplay for you boring, unskilled players. Otherwise, there’s always Football Manager.
Thanks to you and your fantastic feedback, you’ve ruined the game. Now you just select the defensive midfielder and the CPU does everything for you. Congratulations to you and your “realism.”

Im one of the player who likes to enjoy the game (rivals , fut champs ) but how EA patch the game is so bad. The fact is EA listen YouTubers in the first patching , and of course most of players wasn’t happy with that and start to complain about it, EA comes and patch the game again if I remember well the game was patched three times in 8 days . What patching means ? Means that the players who play every day it’s simple to accommodate with me patches , but players who play one ore twice a week are not comfortable with those changes . So don’t blame other players , and don’t rank yourself on top of the skills, no one knows how you play , you just though you’re good but don’t you are not !
My friend, I’m a casual player. I’m currently in Division 6, and in WL I get at most 9 wins. So I’m not good, okay?
I want to play for two hours in the evening and have fun. Realism, in a mode like UT, shouldn’t exist at all. UT is, by definition, an arcade mode. It has always been arcade ever since the mode was introduced.
If someone wanted slower and more realistic gameplay, they played the old online seasons or Career Mode.
With this obsession for realism, EA is condemning itself to death.
Many people, even on this Discord, complain that they can’t control 11 players at once and that the CPU is necessary. I’m 30 years old and I’ve been playing this game since FIFA 07: can you tell me why, in these last few years, there’s this obsession with the CPU? Why didn’t this obsession exist in FIFA 16 or 17, for example?
People need to understand that the more they demand realism, the less fun players will have. And this isn’t a subjective opinion — it’s objective.
I agree with you with some parts but you overreacted little bit. I in div 4 I play this game since 1998! Yes 1998 ! I had a break in 2021-2023. I start play again with hope that game is enjoyable. My weekend league record was 10-11 wins but I was happy with 9 as well , but now in the last 4 weekend leagues, I can’t make more than 7 wins because EA patched the game every week , instead of improving the game play is destroying the game play !
Overreact? I spent €100 to buy this game — “overreacting” seems like the minimum.
All I’m asking for is the same playability as the old FIFAs, and I’m talking about FIFA 16, 17, 18.
Is it possible that you can’t score from crosses?
Is it possible that I’m forced to play in only one way?
Sorry, but EA listens to the feedback of those who complain no matter what, the ones who want realism.
Because I believe that most players just want to enjoy a couple of stress-free hours in the evening. I don’t think they care about playing a 15-minute match where you have to sweat to score a single goal. That’s what Career Mode is for.
I spent — actually, we spent — €100 on a game where we were promised manual defending → the unskilled players cry instead of learning → EA is afraid of losing players → now defenders defend on their own and you don’t even need to touch them.
I'm pretty sure people just want spam turning with your back to goal and your acceleration after making a sharp change of direction (which is extremely unrealistic in comparison to real life) to be significantly nerfed especially when you're on the ball. When you change direction you have to fight your own moment and explode into the other direction. It's not normal to accelerate that fast when doing so. Outside of the unrealistic change of direction mechanics and the terrible defensive awareness of the AI (when it comes to marking passes and literally just being aware of their surroundings and where the opposition players are) in this game there's not that much to complain about except maybe the goalkeeping because the keepers do tend to allow some really stupid goals but I wouldn't really complain about that.
You can't manual defend when the AI ball watches while you're manual defending
Even if you tell them to mark a pass they'll still let the pass go through
84 defensive awareness so you can ball watch and allow everybody off the ball run around you even if they run right in front of your eyes regardless of whether or not you're literally given the instructions to mark someone so they won't be open
By "learn" what do you expect us to learn? How to use the AI to defend while we just use our CDMs like a loser? I don't like to use the AI to defend one one ones, I like to win the ball myself, I only use the AI to mark passing options so they can't just pass around me but the AI can't even do that. I'll tell my defenders to mark the striker and they'll just casually let the striker in behind anyway or let a winger run up on them far post for a free goal when I was literally telling them to mark said winger far post
The game promotes CDM/AI defending
We want to be able to defend one on one and be able to trust that the AI will do the right thing
But we can't because it doesn't
I still manual defend either way but it doesn't work right
Defenders don't man mark at all whether if they're told to or not
The AI is always ball watching
We need them to be switched on in order to be able to affectively manual defend
completeley agree. div 4 down to div 2 is complete bs and ive had no choice myself but to sit with a CDM in the midfeild and play like some btch. I like to defend agressive, i brought cb's with anticipate just so i could play more agressive but its so so so much weaker than sitting in place with your cdm that i just cant do it when im at like 8,9, and 0
Matchmaking is also a HUGE issue
Trust, it's completely broken
Low Div players are matched with high div and viceversa, it's awful and broken
Mix that with awful servers and a cpu driven gameplay and you have this mess
The whole point of playing FUT is to play online with a team that doesn't completely suck (if you don't want to use some meta team in seasons). I don't know many people that wanted women to be added to ultimate team. At least not competing together. It's completely unbalanced, they're stronger, jump higher, too small to shoulder tackle, easy to dribble in tight spaces, and they're faster. The play styles aren't a problem since it adds authenticity to players similarly to real life. We don't want matches to be shorter we want our defense to defend with some sense without having to CDM defend. We want realistic player movement. It's completely unrealistic when you're able to spam half circles until the defender over commits and then accelerate as if you're not fighting your own momentum to accelerate into that direction. In real life if you tried to do a half circle spam you'd get closed down and you wouldn't be fast enough to outrun the defender after a sharp change of direction like that because you're fighting your own momentum and you're accelerating from essentially -2 miles per hour (as your body's momentum is going in the opposite direction) to whatever you're able to accelerate to. It takes far longer to accelerate to your top speed when your not already running at a decent speed.
What exactly do you agree with here? The defensive awareness of the AI is terrible it's unrealistic. The way people can spam turn is unrealistic. Asking for realistic gameplay doesn't translate to sit on your CDM and let the AI defend one on ones for you. Realistic would be being able to manual defend while the AI defends like a proper defense, actually marking open players and not just leaving them open allowing them to get the ball, and actually listening when told to man mark.
Tbh idrk why they'd have to remove it. Just make other formations defend with some type of intelligence. There's no reason why I'm using a 3-4-2-1 and I have 3 center backs and 2 wingbacks defending on counter attacks but each and every single one of those three center backs are snoozing and allowing the opposition to completely play around them
3 center backs and all of them are ball watching while there's wingers, midfielders and strikers running around them
There's no reason why I should have to fight my way through 8+ AI defenders while avoiding my opponent who just chases the ball the entire time. Only to then get counter attacked.
Removing the formation solves the problem quicker than having to go through each formation and adjust the AI for them individually.
I hear you 100% but it does kind of kill the tactical freedom of the game further. I still miss the days where you could line your team up however you wanted
Yea. This tactical system is horrible. It's far too limited and feels way too scripted.
Seriously.
It was so unnecessary too
