The update before this one made the Defensive and Attacking AI in squad battles way too strong. Professional difficulty feels like legendary before the patch. It’s absolutely miserable to play this game mode right now. This needs to get reverted. Squad battles shouldn’t be this sweaty, it’s ridiculous.

The latest update for me has helped a lot in terms of balance to gain possession and retain it... It was way too fast before and really made it a drag to play, no matter what difficulty - just so unrealistic. They have made the dribbling action slower and it helps a lot. But maybe need to make the AI slower to react.
But I agree, the AI is too much in terms of retaining the ball... Last night I had fun playing mostly Legendary, winning all matches, mostly clean sheets, able to tackle well and get possession. One game world class against a very top team, winning 5-1. Today in world class against a good team I lose 2-0 and the whole game is a struggle to get the ball, seems very different from last night, my tackles just result in being shrugged off and if I do get the ball I lose it immediately and get nowhere. I know each team has its pros and cons with different players and formation etc, but it just feels so inconsistent. The AI seems to read the play too well, and reacting to every pass and dribble with flash speed elastic legs which makes it so unrealistic and tedious to play against. AI seems to crowd the forwards and have no space to pass to. So I have only one loss this week in Squad Battles... against a team that is not even very well rated. I don't get it. Yes, football is unpredictable, but the gameplay feels inconsistent to me.

People keep raising it over and over and over. They have destroyed a beginner mode and they don’t care. Play on professional, you demolish them and it’s so boring. Play on world class and above, you touch the ball less than 40% of the time. The entire game they pass between the CBs like they are wasting time in the last 5 minutes
The AI constantly slide tackles (especially if using technical driving or skill moves), relentless tiki taka with crazy passes, etc etc. it is significantly worse since the recent update.
I’ve got man screenshots recently, one of a 77 team on legendary. This would formerly be a 10-0 win, however currently it’s ridiculous and I had possession for 35% of the games. The AI spent the majority of the time retaining possession in their half, passing the second you tried to tackle. They never missed an interception or tackle, even though the defenders were silver. Their 80 rated goal keeper made absolutely ridiculous saves against Leao with 99 shooting.
this mode used to be great for beginners, let you try new formations and tactics. But now it’s absolutely sweaty and 100% the worst mode in the game. My son now refuses to play squad battles, great job ea
