Right now, gameplay feels robotic and soulless. The biggest issue is attacking AI and how limited player movement has become. Even when there’s open space, players refuse to move into it because they’re locked into overly rigid “roles.” Wingers just stand out wide, Inside Forwards hesitate to cut in, and Strikers sometimes fail to support counterattacks. It makes attacking feel one-dimensional and predictable, especially in popular formations like the 4-2-3-1 and 4-4-2.
Older FIFAs used to have more natural, reactive movement — if there was space, players would attack it automatically. Now, it feels like players only respond to hard-coded instructions, not football logic. EA needs to make sure attacking AI adapts dynamically to open space, even if a player has a specific role assigned. This would bring back more fluid, creative gameplay instead of the current meta of repetitive cutbacks and through-ball spam.
Fut Champs gameplay has also been unbearably slow lately, even on PC, which makes attacking even worse. The delay and heavy animations make every match feel like a grind. It’s especially frustrating when every opponent plays the exact same way, parking deep and countering. The reward-driven mentality has completely replaced creativity and expression. The game needs to reward smart attacking play again — not just automated build-ups or meta abuse.
Defensive AI is still marking too aggressively, especially in the midfield. It feels like the AI is defending for the user while you’re trying to build up. There should be mechanics that open up space when someone only controls one defender the entire time. The game would flow better if attacking AI actively punished static defensive behavior.
