Since 2023, the player base has only become tougher, with higher-skilled players now sitting in Division 4 or 3, and every match feeling like a warzone. This is naturally a result of the massive digital exposure and promotion of pro players, tactics, and playstyles — making even casual gameplay feel overly competitive and mentally exhausting.

EA needs to expand the Division structure to at least 15 total divisions instead of 10, and rework the checkpoint and reward system, since players are pushed down into harder divisions far too quickly. It’s 2025 — not 2015, when only a small part of the community played FIFA regularly.

It won't help if people sandbag and SBMM is not enforced.. Lower skill players will still get dunked on, quit, then players just above that will become bottom dweller and quit, and so on. Ask me how I know.

I don't disagree. I'm actually a pretty good player -- I right stick switch on defense, I don't touch my CBs much and when I do, I click over at the last minute to tackle, I time my tackles, I don't force passes, I fidget spin, I run down the lines, I use the correct playstyles in the correct positions, and on and on -- and yet I lose ... a lot. I don't lose by a lot, usually one goal, but I lose ... in DIV 8! I mean, I can beat WC SB teams, but the AI there doesn't play like a real person. The AI is predictable and you can tell when they are about to do something stupid to give you the ball back or chain together an amazing set of passes to score. SB is nothing like Rivals. DIV 8 players are like DIV 5 players were last year. I actually made it to DIV 4 last year and that didn't feel as sweaty as DIV 8 this year. What gives? Seriously. If the answer is I suck, then goodbye and enjoy playing pros. The game needs casuals. The game needs MOSTLY casuals. IT can't be all streamers and pros. I mean, c'mon EA. You all have to be smarter than this. Communicate something, try something, show the casuals you give a crap. If you want to see what I mean, EA you are cordially invited to play against me, at my house, to see what I mean. Between the lag and the skill of most of the players, the game is just not fun.

Now I just quit the Rivals games as soon as they load. Same result but much faster process. It's impossible to win any online game for me anyway.

This happened in League of Legends, today there are many more divisions. I'm in the elite division in EA FC, and I face a lot of bad players there.

Well, I can't play online in div 9, every game is an 8-0 loss. Squad Battles only, one of the last casuals is gone, game got marginally sweatier. Today it will be another few guys who are slightly better than me, and so on until everyone is a pro, and every game is sweat. Congrats on refusing to implement SBMM.

For me, i used to be elite for many years, now i dont like the gameplay i sit in div 7 on purpose to collect my rival wins, there is a lot of ppl like me, that makes it worse for the playerbase in bad divisions (sorry) thats why we need a bigger Division GAP.

havent touched rivals since november i decided to go squad battles + rush only and its 10x more fun the pvp gameplay is just not enough football imo
