i found a fix for the input delay that start since the last patch and it works for me finally : 1-Delete the AppData folder (C:\Users<you>\AppData\Local\EA Sports FC 26)
→ Forces a fresh rebuild of configs and shaders.

2-Verify integrity on Steam
→ Re-downloads any missing or corrupted files.

3-Disable “GameInput Service” temporarily:

Press Win + R, type services.msc.

Find GameInput Service, right-click → Stop (and optionally set to Manual).

Restart PC, test gameplay.

4-Reset controller bindings:
Some people noticed Steam Input double-processing inputs.
Try disabling Steam Input in the game’s properties (“Controller” → “Disable Steam Input”) or enable it globally — test both.

5-Clear shader cache:

NVIDIA → Control Panel → “Manage 3D Settings” → “Shader Cache” → Off, Apply → On again.

Or manually clear: C:\Users<you>\AppData\Local\NVIDIA\DXCache and GLCache.

Hello everyone, I'm having the same problem after the last update. I've spent more time frustrated than actually playing. I lost rewards because of the disconnection issues, and now this. It's shameful that an update can hurt those of us who pay to enjoy a game. This update has simply broken the game. It's unplayable when players respond three seconds after you press the button... The worrying thing is that all we hear is silence, and there's no certainty as to when they'll fix it. Meanwhile, we just watch from the sidelines as this happens, unable to participate because of them.

We bought the game based on what the community recommended — smooth gameplay, challenging defense mechanics, and other features.
At first, the game was great, easily a 9/10.

Cap your fps , the input delay is via the system not ea servers. Lock it at 60 or 90 fps. Play around with nvidia control panel or amd for optimum settings

I play on an i7 3770 with an RX580 8GB and at first it ran perfectly without any problems, until the patch broke everything.

Guys ..i dont think its the game ...this is caused by some driver or some thing....i was having the issue ..then i did a clean installation of windows and Used the same files that I'd already installed on my Pc to Play again ....and Shockingly Now i am able to play at 90 fps smoothly...There is some delay off and on but not that much....I know its a hassle to Reinstall windows but if nothing is working for you...this might be the last resort

I play very offense oriented but my forwards are so dumb man 😭 .. they stick to the defenders so i thought i can call them close and send one of them to run and maybe it's me or idk but the r1 mechanic doesn't get the right player cuz .. first i call my big striker who can shield the ball but it brings my winger who was supposed to be free cuz of the input delay mab

I uninstalled it because it's unbearable to see it go to max FPS, where you get the feeling everything will be fine, and then suddenly, the FPS drops during the animation in the second half. All I see is a linear FPS graph at 10 FPS. It's terrible.

FC 26 got some serious issues with FC IQ.

For example:

CBs drifting wide and leaving gaps centrally,
Wingbacks/Attacking WB not moving like they should,
Inverted wingbacks not moving like they should
Fullbacks focused on "defense" continue to move up to the attack.
Falsebacks switching positions with defenders at the wrong time during a counter-attack.
CMs drifting wide,
Wide Playmakers (LM/RM) played like a LAM/RAM in EA FC 25, and in FC 26 they almost never cut inside.
Wingers (LM/RM/LW/RW) in the final third do not enter the area.
Ball player defenders (CBs) with a build-up focus do not move up to midfield, becoming defensive midfielders during possession of the ball.

The problem is that you only complain on Discord; you have to complain on their Twitter too, on the forums, everywhere that's visible, not just on Discord. They don't even see the complaints on Discord. Or if they don't want to bother going on Twitter to ask for the bug to be fixed, they can just spam it. Report the bug in the Report tab, all those who are experiencing the bug.

Im not sure if this may assist @solar pasture with the fix but with this input lag, when booting the game its reverting to a windowed format. Issue has occured hand in hand with the input lag.

What is extremely frustating is that the requirements to run the game are the exact same in FC 25 and FC 26, but I just tried a rivals game in FC 25 and omg the performance is like day and night. FC 25 stable fluid fps experience, FC 26 I can't even play at 30 fps without an insane input delay

FC 25 actually works perfectly on my PC, but FC 26 doesn't work at all; there's an absurd delay in the commands in Rivals, except for Rush and Off modes, which are all in L-camera.

because i don't see them caring for PC games and solving such issues. A giant game developer like EA should never take 3 months to optimize a established game for a platform (in fact game works well sometimes, meaning game is okay but there is technical inconsistency) ...now when we see they don't solve it, it only makes me feel they don't actually want to improve it (right now)
