only 2 things to do are improving kick off defense, fix glitches.. thats it... don't touch the fast gameplay.. we don't want boring realistic game.

For me, the game was in very good condition after patch version 1.1.0.

The overly fast gameplay, with the fidget spinners and R1 dribbling, has nothing to do with real football in my opinion.

Football isn't just dribbling and fast pace. Football involves tackles, strategies, switching play, and defensive battles❗

Pretty sure EA introduced authentic mode to keep the casuals and to reel back lost players. They can just introduce authentic online modes and let competitive players match against each other and vice versa.

I'm sorry but this competitive preset was publicized and tailored for fast, responsive, agile and spectacular game with lots of goalscoring opportunities and little to no defending cpu

The problem we had with early access were the main reason players were conceding most goals
The exploits and some inefficient mechanics.
First of all kickoff and corners, followed by Bruiser playstyle and tackles being completely useless

The left stick turn is fast, surely, but it's a problem mostly with girls, because they are insanely agile compared to men

And that also brought to another issue, manual defending wasn't and still isn't rewarded properly

Jockey was useless, add all these things together and you'll have abnormally high results

Now, they buffed jockey and raised cpu automatic tackles and presence in the defense

the only thing should happened there is only increase the chances of winning the ball from who have this playstyles.. not increasing all the AI defending

That made the game fundamentally a counter fest
Not only, with this much cpu, the game feels scripted and lots of outcomes feels like they aren't in your control

That makes the game skill gap worse, because lots of situations aren't made by the player but the game automatic tackles

And again, not only, this specific way of patching things led for players to only drop back and defend with their cdm

Because anyway, it's the most effective way to score with the least risk

That's the gameplay rn for those who try and play normally.

The solution seems to be, either nerf the defending AI or punish low blocks by draining their stamina.

But I prefer the first because the game shouldnt have this much cpu to begin with, it's a competitive mode after all.

It's supposed to be fast and arcadey, changing it to be slower, more automatic and simulative, ruins it's nature, not only, it ruins most experiences.

Anyway, if you put the effort, without the exploit
In a fair game where defense is mostly manual and tackles are rewarded and not spammed

You would be able to defend efficiently

Rn the game is just not fun for us who prefer a faster gameplay

And R1 isn't broken, left stick is, why? Because manual tackles are still underwhelming.
