I can’t believe what I have played in champs this weekend. It’s like a completely different game compared to pre patch.
Defending is now way stronger than attacking which has brought back all the wonderful things that come with it. AI blocks are more frequent, defenders advance forward quicker and out muscle attackers, recovery speed is back amongst many more.
I was a competitive player a couple of years ago and still play to a decent standard but this weekend I have to admit I struggled especially to break ppl down. Attacking just felt completely gone. Ppl are now putting 10 players behind the ball and running around with their CDM. Now, we were seeing this starting to emerge pre patch but as the attacking was good, you could get around it, now it’s just about counter attack and who can ping the ball in or as usual get was muggy bounce, rebound or animation.
I used Mbappe this weekend and he felt pointless. He was in the pocket of every CB, didn’t matter who it was. That’s a 2m coin card that I couldn’t tell the difference between that and gold Pina. 10k Vs 2m. Make it make sense EA. Attacking players no longer turns as well or take up as good positions. The fluidity this game had is a thing of the past.
Don’t get me started on the servers either. The game felt rigid and there were many strange animations which I hadn’t seen before the patch. Can only mean one thing, right? The patch has interfered yet again.
EA, you had three jobs. Nerf kick off, sort corners and buff defending. Instead, you have broken the game. I can only imagine that the casuals were struggling as they couldn’t learn to defend strong attacking players and you have once again appealed to the masses.
You do this every year. You pull everyone in, everything seems to be going well and then you patch the game into oblivion.
Please fix this. Attacking needs to go back to how it was.
