Because the AI is just better at filling the spaces. Why would you move the AI if it does most of the defensive work for you? The only thing players have to do is run around and chase the ball until second man press gets close enough or forces a mistake.
The defending wasn't this overpowered during early access.

Great work EA listening to the community and not just the sweats. Good update. A step in the right direction. But pls fix fidget spinners next.
Fidget sppining is still way too op and unrealistic. Defending against that is still impossible as it has been nerfed to the ground.
