I have now played 20 games since the latest patch. And I’ve also played over 400 match before the new patch. My skill level is average, I’m in div 5, and get around 7-10 wins on Fut Champs. Win or Lose is arround 60/40, but this is for me okay, since Ive had a lot of fun wirh the game so until now.
I liked pre-patch was that my offensive players felt quick, responsive and smooth. There was multiple ways to attack, with fast dribbling, good passing and you could also score crosses using the players for it.
I didnt like the mobility of defenders, Kickoff goals and positioning on offensive corners, wich where to vulnerable for counter attacks.
experience with the new patch, is that kickoff goals appear alot less. And also positioning on offensive corners are better.
But in my experience with the games I’ve played so far, the latest patch favours low depth and counter attacking playstyles. Its hard to counter a low block tactically, when the ability to dribble fluintly is taken away.
By my experience, it is tactically the better option to take less risk in attack, defend low, let AI help with defending and wait for a counter, since attackers now are best suited for having alot of space.
the games was advertised as having 2 seperate game modes. Where one was authentic, and one was competetive.
The feel for me after patch is that UT competetive, feels more authentic.
For me, less responsive = less fun.
Was it neccesary to kill offensive mobility to have defensive mobility? And did we really need that much more help by AI defending? Considering you also had low block, CDM-defending players pre patch, but them you where able to punish with dribbling and ballcontroll in tight spaces. Now you tacitcally lack that ability to punish te low block, since long shots without pressure on the ball arent a thing either.
A slight boost to jockey and def. Responsiveness without touching offensive, wouldve been perfect imo. Kickoff and corners is a good fix.
