I don't even use r1, I play tiki taka, but when some idiot sits there with de jong and patri, and jockeys all game, it's hella boring, a game should be all about a fast pace, meaning there should be alot of goals. Also, ur deffo horrible at the game, r1 wasn't a huge issue for me pre patch

The past years i was always in div 1 and sometimes in elite. Now im struggling to win games in Rivals because people LITTERALY make circles around my defenders and score easily.

They’re listening to 90% of the community, it’s obvious you haven’t been on this Discord in the past week, or you would’ve seen the hundreds of posts every single day complaining about the defense.

Just because you’re part of the 10% minority doesn’t mean the update is bad. If you enjoy scoring 10 goals per match, that’s on you.

The truth is, EA wouldn’t have changed anything about the gameplay if at least 80% of the community hadn’t been complaining all throughout October.

If you want 9–8 scorelines every game, maybe you and the others should consider playing Rocket League instead 👨‍❤️‍👨

I think the whole “real 90 minutes” idea is a bit too much, but I also don’t want a football game that feels like it’s got tennis scores 🎾 either.

We don’t need to be extremists — not overly realistic, but not arcade rush football either, where everyone just sprints like a fidget spinner and scores 10 goals per match.

Why not aim for a balanced middle ground? Wouldn’t that be better for the whole community? You always go to the extremes — and that’s exactly the problem with this community.

Great work EA listening to the community and not just the sweats. Good update. A step in the right direction. But pls fix fidget spinners next.
Fidget sppining is still way too op and unrealistic. Defending against that is still impossible as it has been nerfed to the ground.

Now nxt step is finding a way to nerf the fidget spinners so that defenders have a fair n equal opportunity.

Dribbling is still op and the defense is unable to keep up.
Current state only streamers n sweats keep abusing the left stick mechanic and others is interested to play.

They nerfed r1 dribbling because the developers could not fix the tackle animations. Just needed a small boost in AI positioning in terms of defense nothing else. This new patch just proved how incompetent the developers and decision-makers at EA actually are.

Loving this. Play FIFA street if you want skill spamming. Why even include roughly real life stats of players? Just make every one the same or with fictional stats? Doesn’t work like that, does it?

People asked for a football simulation and that’s why they had to go out of their way to include one this year. They failed to mention the huge disparity and baited a large chunk of gamers to get the game. Never did that before. People hated ts you want and EA wanted those people back. THE MAJORITY.

Casuals like @eternal dew are definitely real and in fact they are probably in the majority . That's why EA have catered to them in recent years . And he has a valid perspective , he wants the game to be chill and realistic.
But firstly , when you overpower defense and nerf attacking - yea you concede less goals but then you have to work way harder in attack to breakdown AI . And can we agree that most of us want to play against humans and not a flawless computer . And that in my opinion is way more taxing than what it was pre patch .
Secondly, why not give a game where its harder to defend manually a chance for a few months ? Maybe we will like it a lot more than this AI slugfest now ?
