I do feel like the patch was much needed and so far seems to have balanced the defense, it doesn’t seem to be so needed to relay on ai to defend and you can to some extent do a bit more with manual switching and jockey of defenders.
With that said it doesn’t look like it would make sense to nerf the r1 dribbling because it may slowdown too much CB the flow of some attacks.
Overall i believe it was a needed one to make the gameplay more balanced, the offensive nerf was a just not too much necessary, the kickoffs seem to be solved aswell.
