The competitive gameplay has a great foundation. The only thing holding it back seems to be an increase in the amount of AI assistance that is either intentionally being added after each update or the community has found a way to force the AI to do more than they should be capable of.

Players no longer need to control CBs because of the AIs help with low blocks. Random full power passes and through balls seem to find their targets making counter attacks an absolute mess to deal with for anyone not playing the meta, AI defenders are able to, tackle, intercept, and remain in perfect tight formation unless manually moved by the player on defense who is always running side to side infront of said low block cutting as many passing lanes or open players as possible. Players that do this are also able to spam R1/RB to force aggressive behavior and tighter marking out of their defenders leaving attackers locked in place and unable to shake their man while the controlled player chases the ball.

While this does not work all the time I suggest you go into a couple of games and try spamming R1/RB when an attacker gets near your box. This should make your defender freeze up and not do a thing. Except it seems to make the AI better in some situations. This was also a thing in FC25.

I feel like removing as many assists as possible from the settings could actually help to improve the overall experience for everyone playing fut. You don't see fps games handing out aim bots or full aim assist in competitive modes so why allow them in this game at all outside of the casual experience? Its the same issue efootball has with smart assist.

The only thing that should be controlled or influenced by AI is the positioning of attackers and defenders when it comes to reading the current situation. Nothing more, nothing less.

I absolutely Agree to every single Point. This has been my thing with the current affairs with the Frostbite engine since FIFA 17. It has just become a game of rewarding those who do less manual plays. Spamming Team Press and running back with their CDM. You may have answered one of my biggest mysteries about the Team Press Spam r1 and it all makes sense now how my opponents Ai is always so aggressive regardless of the players or stats they have. I have always theorised but never had to test this but always suspected so, but yes this definitely needs to be investigated because by removing it should theoretically result in the Ai making smarter intentioned runs and making defending Manual. It feels more now that they start the smart runs then just look confused as to where to go or refuse to go to clear open creates spaces. It’s infuriating. The current game condition now feels like Fc 25 and it’s so sad because in the pre release the game played like football… now it’s park the bus run back with CDM or ST

Trough balls are too much.
They did change some settings to semi for competitive gameplay , but seriously, the ideal should be imo
Everything semi and manual trough balls

And Yea, nerf the double man pressing and team press
I don't even think there's as much CPU as FC25 no, it's just the damn R1 I swear, if it was nerfed I'm sure it would be worse, much worse if you didn't switch fast

If you're controlling an attacker just running back to fill space that isn't defending.

The Defenders regardless of how the tactics are set up should not be able to do as much as they do.

Pre patch in the early access required players to switch to CBs and fullbacks in order to cover space appropriately and make the tackle or intercept the ball.

These next couple changes from update 1.0.2 were never actually an issue if players controlled their defenders instead of trying to sprint back with their attackers and midfielders only. These buffs to the AI's defensive habits are too overpowered and must be reduced to nearly what it was during the early access.

Improved positioning of players when playing with low defensive depth so that they’re not pushing too high up the pitch.

Center Backs are now less likely to run wide when marking central attackers.

False Backs now transition more intelligently to defense to better maintain defensive shape.

Revert the game back to the one I and many others decided to purchase.

I agreed with you. Its crazy how many players i lost to that do not even control their cbs. All they do is r1 press and sit back and score 1 lucky counter goal. Either ea needs to nerf the r1 press or make attackers make better runs, make skills moves more effective etc.

The defending has been nerfed to the ground. Please make defending equally powerful compared to attackers.

Game has just become an unrealistic goal fest for skill and pace abusers as defending has been severely nerfed

Only sweats are playing the game now as they continuously abuse the right stick. No casuals want to play this fidget spinner unless defending is fixed

Bro consider attacking without ai once where you control 6 players at once.

You just want defending to be nerfed and attacking to be overpowered to aid you in your way of play

First attack without ai and control all players at once and then ask for defense without AI

I already have to tell my players to come short and make runs so what's the difference?

Play offline and learn how to aim your shots and passes, play online without it holding your hand. Pretty simple concept.

I do want AI defenders to be nerfed, right back to 1.0.2. I also want attackers to suffer more from stamina loss when being used to defend and fidget spinnig eradicated so the game takes actual skill and tactical knowledge to play.

The game should not aid anyone, especially those who just sit back and use AI assisted everything.

Casual players not being able to make perfect long balls or hit the net every time from off angles provides a skill gap for those that are capable.

It would turn a majority of those long passes into nothingness.

The devs need to open their eyes and just revert the low block change from 1.0.2. The Defenders just flood the box and don't give up space.
