Players assigned to the Attacking Wingback roles stay deep like a fullback and don't join the attacks even when we're close to the CPU penalty box. This is the case with support and attack focus. Have to manually press L1 to bring them forward. Even then, the players with Attacking Wingback roles make a lot of underlapping/ inverted runs and are not making enough overlapping runs. This was the best role in FC 25 but it is completely broken in FC 26. Please fix it
#ATTACKING WINGBACK ROLE IS BROKEN (WINGBACKS STAY DEEP)

This problem has been since day 1 on fc 26 and still didn’t get fixed 🤦🏻♂️
i think they've set it up to have the attacking wingbacks make attacking runs when the ball gets to a certain player in your formation.
i was playing the 4321 with the left back on attacking wingback support, i need to do some more investigation but it looks to me like when the ball is at the feet of my left CAM/CF then that triggers the attacking wingback to sprint forward.
every other time then he has just been sitting fairly deep for that role.
It's definitely a mechanic issue. They stay fixed in a defensive line until a certain point, then run back to their starting position. They also only do it when the ball is on their side.
One workaround I've noted is increasing run frequency above 55. It seems to unlock their runs but off course, effects the game in other areas. It's a trade-off
Definitely something for @heady pendant @azure otter to look into
Even when we manually force them forward using L1, the attacking wingbacks make a lot of underlapping runs instead of overlapping runs. Very frustrating
👍
I agree, fullbacks need to push forward like in real life.
I really hope it gets fixed in their late October update 🤦🏻♂️
