This game is so bad. I hate everything that EA FC has become. All you care about is making as much money as possible offer a transaction and not trying to actually make us enjoy the actual gameplay. If so, the gameplay would actually be good. I’m so sick and tired of these BS goals I give up because stuff that should never happen. I’m talking about the obvious tackling problem that is in this game right now. AI defending Great all but manual defending still is garbage. The game just doesn’t allow you to make a tackle and this isn’t a skill issue because when you make a tackle and all of a sudden the ball goes straight to another attacking opponent when the physics just don’t make sense And then they score off of it or the fact that you blatantly intercept a ball and all of a sudden somehow someway, it goes to an attacking player and the perfect position and they score off of it. How about when you go to make a pass in the ball even though you have put the right amount of power right direction on it goes to a different person than you have intended to because of a scripted garbage at this game is all leading to our goal. I quit every game I play because there’s no positive experience playing this game. I’m about to delete this game and I suggested everyone who does play delete this game because this game sucks. EA FC 25 was 1/10 and EA FC 26 is 2/10. The fact that there’s so many animation issues input delays in this game is crazy to me. The fact that pinging is the ultimate deciding factor of who’s going to outright when games is absolute garbage.

META was not a thing since forever. I don't know how old you are or how long you've been playing video games. I've been playing FIFA since FIFA 99, switched to PES and switched back to FIFA since FIFA 12. Each one of us has his own playing style, his own tactics and his own way of playing. Right now if you want to win you must play a certain way. That was absolutely not the case before.
Some played possession some counter attacks some a lot of skills etc etc. The games before were far more balanced before and allowed much more thing to be done. Not anymore

I really don't care about getting high in divisions. I only play to get 30 points. To go up or down i really don't care. But every opponent I face plays the same way especially in FUT champs. I'm faaar from elite and I will never get there and I don't mind. I donnt have the time for that. But if I play the way I like i'll lose. I don't care about losing, It's a game. But If i'm litteraly forced to play a certain way just to get my 30 points it's not good. The thing that you said just shows that the game is not balanced. I litterally can't play like a Barça (Guardiola) by controlling the midfield etc. I also can't play like the old Chelsea of Lampard Essien etc..
I don't think it's healthy that the only way to defend is by bringing the CM back, the only way to be effective is to wait and counter attacks. The game has to have more variety

There's a REASON they made two gameplays
One for simulation the other is arcade
The one you're talking ab is the competitive one which is online, it was never meant to be realistic, and never publicized as such
Competitive mode is for smooth passing, agility, pace and goals, it's not ab realism but responsiveness. So ofc the answer is NO
As for authentic gameplay, yes, I play career with OS sliders, full manual, authenticity features and it's actually a pretty good simulation, I like it, I constantly make clips of realistic highlights
My only complaint is about fouls, CPU should make more of them but overall a satisfying experience

Game has just become an unrealistic goal fest for skill and pace abusers as defending has been severely nerfed
Only sweats are playing the game now as they continuously abuse the right stick. No casuals want to play this fidget spinner unless defending is fixed
