AI defending is present since the beginning, it's just that everyone one understood that the only way to "defend" correctly is to never touch your defenders.... Otherwise you concede in every possession. Manual defending is not rewarding at all, and in the current state of the game, it's impossible to decrease AI Defending without decrease MASSIVELY attacking gameplay since it's completely overpowered
