In the 1.02 update, the notes mentioned:
“False Backs now transition more intelligently to defense to better maintain defensive shape.”
While the initial transition works correctly now, there’s still an issue that appears a few seconds after losing possession:
When possession is lost, the left CB (set as a Defender with a Defend role) moves out wide to cover for the left Fullback and mark the winger and the left Fullback (set as a False Back with a Defend focus) correctly moves into the CB position.
However, during the same defensive phase, both the Fullback and CB attempt to return to their original positions too early, even while the opponent is still attacking.
This premature repositioning creates a large gap on that flank, especially noticeable when facing formations with wingers (e.g., 4-2-1-3 or 4-3-3).
It seems the defensive AI triggers the “reset to default shape” logic too early instead of holding the compact back four until the defensive sequence is over and its safe for the CB and FB to return to their original positions
