First of all the game has big potential if these things are fixed. Bring Manual defending back. If you Manual switch to your defender its most likely a goal. Everybody plays with the cpu and r1 pressing. Park the bus, running with the cdms back. 95% of the players.. Cbs are moving (agility) like trucks and jockey is absolutely dead, because of this its impossible to Manual defend 100% every time. Also advanced defending is dead , cause your forgot to implement bruiser in the game. Kick offs and corner are also broken. Positioning of the defenders in some scenarios are really bad. Its a unbalanced thing with defending to attacking and cause of that, manual defending which cost skill will punish you. Attacking is great. Dribbles are very good. Passing also very solid. R1 x passes could be better but overall attacking is solid. I hope the unbalanced between attacking - defending will be fixed.

I agree, as of right now, this is attacking fidget spinner fc, skill moves and cuts back, back and forth on the sticks until, they score, its poor. I doubt they will do anything about, as i believe they care more for the hardcore players than the casuals which is funny, without the casuals, game goes bye bye. how many times to i got to see Pina bodying the cb's

The defending has been nerfed to the ground. Please make defending equally powerful compared to attackers.
Game has just become an unrealistic goal fest for skill and pace abusers as defending has been severely nerfed
It was never supposed to be realistic, they never said the competitive gameplay is aimed to be realistic
It has to represent the football in a realistic way at least a minimum, otherwise they would not spend money to have real faces, spend money to make captures sessions, spend money to have realistic stats etc... surely?
Unfortunately we are now closer to have jetpacks on football boots than to have a game that represents football

Of course it was more arcade than the classic game, but it was not a ping pong game where you needed to press R1 + X automatically from your defense to be in front of the opponent box in 2 seconds. You couldn't just press triangle or X anywhere to have a fully assisted pass that gets through 3 defenders. You couldn't spin like a Beyblade as if bodies weight 0
I didn't really like FIFA 15, but I really think it was still closer to reality than FC 26, 25 or 24
I did play all of them but you have to take in account some things, no playstyles, less cpu, different way of defending and certainly an extremely lower power curve
Surely, they were a little slower compared to this but again, when they publicized the game they talked about more agility turning and less cpu defending, they really never talked about making it more realistic
The game online is arcadey, that's a winning formula that won't change, I personally like it, best game we had in years
But I do agree it needs some adjustments, especially on playstyles
And also, for players who prefer simulation, it would be nice to put the authentic mode gameplay on online modes too

Yes that's why I think the licence is going backwards. Less CPU worked because attacking was not as assisted as now.
Now, AI defending is still a thing like the second part of FC 25, except in counter attacks (because no matter which role you choose, there is no midfielder), during kick offs and short corners/free kicks like previous year. Otherwise, manual defending is not rewarding at all and we are still encouraged to never touch our defenders.
But if AI Defending is decreased in the current state of the game, it would be the same as kick offs but during the whole match so unplayable
I was watching pro gameplay yesterday between ManuBachoore and Ollelito : 8-5 in the 75th minute... I'm sorry but I don't think it's the winning formula when every players leave the game earlier each year, who whould want to play a game during a whole year without skill gap, where each game is a ping pong game and you have to be an alert 100% of the time? Maybe you like it now because you haven't reached yet higher division with players of your level, or maybe you have but I guarantee you will get tired of playing it eventually

Honestly FUT not being realistic is better for the game but, if they gonna make it fidget spinners with attackers, defenders should be as fast and be buffed so you could bully them to the ground, or nerf fidget spinning drastically.
And most importantly (which they won't do) is to destroy AI defending.

Honestly, I do agree that it's less insufferable than last years which is why I think the core game this year is better than any year (for like the last 5) but it's still annoying esp when you will face haram ball way too often thanks to them ruining manual defence not making it effective after it was at is best in the beginning.

I also never said that and I agree the game will never be fully manual since you can't control 11 players at once by yourself sure, but AI should be very limited which something EA won't do so they don't upset the timmies.
Ai should be limited to things like movments and positioning only while the rest is on you whether it was defending or attacking
I would just nerf players agility a little, especially women, fix tackles and animations (as they will do with the next update so it seems they really are listening)

Yeah that's the problem, they made it the most effective when it shouldn't and there is little to no risk or downsides of playing lowblocks/haramball which hurts the balance of the game.

And if I was in charge I would nerf low depth as well, defenders can go as low but midfielders would have a limit or a certain of how far back they can go regardless of instructions, and low depth or low blocks or haram ball call it whatever, should rightfully make attacking harder and takes a bit longer....
In real life weaker teams haram ball for a reason and you can't immediately attack with it and as for the opponent, they have like 90 mins to figure it out, that does NOT translate well in a video game logic and it will never will.
If the game was slower in terms of of rhythm with less passing assistance (so not possible to be in the opponent box in 2 random R1 + X) and if fatigue had an impact, I guarantee not many players would play low block during a whole game, even if it was as good as now
Which is why I advocated for the introduction of authentic gameplay in online modes
Just let people choose, if one wants to play simulative, go simulative, if another wants to play arcadey, let them
The CEO did not exclude the possibility to do that, but they wanted to monitor how the game mode distinction goes first
The thing is, even I don’t really play with authentic gameplay since the AI in ultimate difficulty is rubbish and never attacks
And in this mode, even the fastest players feel slow, it’s not really balanced either
But ultimate is the problem lol
It wasnt tested properly, other difficulties are fine
I play kick off and career to test alot, currently I use OS sliders but even authentic gameplay I must say was a good experience
I thought of it in the beginning but that would lead into more inconsistencies from EA, another competent dev will pull it easily.
Yes I still prefer authentic gameplay over competitive, I only tested it in career mode and I could beat everyone 3 or 4-0 but I didn’t play in other difficulties and didn’t mess with sliders yet
