Please give defenders a chance, let them face attackers who constantly change direction without penalties for momentum, speed, or agility, without making themselves look like fools.

The issue isn't the defending
It's more so how the attacker can turn on a dime and hide the ball from the defender.
It's nice to roll the defender every once in a while. But not every attack. The tackle radius is a little small and we can no longer tug an attacker anymore.

However, I believe that if we enhance defensive effectiveness without slightly reducing dribbling agility, it will turn into an arms race.
If the current effectiveness of offensive and defensive, can be viewed as 7:3, I believe it should not shift to 7:5, but rather to 6:4.

Offense and defense feel like two people playing rock-paper-scissors, where the offensive player gets to go five times in a row, while the defensive player only gets one turn.

Nerf LS turning speed/radius by 10%. Buff manual jockeying speed (especially when changing directions) by 10%. Slow down R1 dribbling and instead make attackers take more close touches so it is used to weave through defenses while dribbling forward instead of being a better version of R2 sprinting.
Also, boost defender strength so it’s easier to muscle small attackers off the ball.
