Do you think they will fix this before Friday’s FUT Champions? It’s unbelievable that I paid so much money to play the game earlier and they broke everything with just one patch. I’ve been playing this game for over 10 years and I’ve never had such problems on PC as I do now and last year. Let’s be honest, if any other company released a game in this state at launch, they would get nothing but negative reviews and would do everything to fix it as quickly as possible. Some time ago someone wrote on the Polish forum that this FPS drop bug was already present in FC25 and apparently they never fixed it… I really hope they finally start working on this. The game was running fine for a week, and it’s unbelievable how this company treats its PC players. There’s still no response from EA to confirm if they even know about this bug or if they are working on a fix

The worst part of all this is that most of us probably won’t even get a refund if they don’t fix it… I’ve already said this before, but can you imagine any other company doing this? They would try to fix it as quickly as possible so players could enjoy the game. Especially since from September 19th until the first patch the game worked perfectly for me. Next year I definitely won’t buy it at launch — I’ll just get EA Play Pro to check if the game works properly first.

What annoys me the most are two things: first, that less than two weeks ago the game was still working fine; and second, that EA clearly doesn’t care about us at all. We could be writing here for a whole year and they might never fix it, because as long as the money is coming in, it doesn’t matter to them…

Reading this forum and seeing how long people have been reporting the same issue, I think starting today we should all comment under EVERY EA Twitter/X post. In each comment we should: describe our problem, share our PC specs, mention that more demanding games run without any issues, and clearly state since when the bug has been happening. Most importantly, always add the hashtag #fixPC.

It’s clear that EA doesn’t care — we paid, they got their money, and now they don’t even reply to our messages. As some people said here, they even delete forum topics instead of addressing them.

If we don’t get any official response or a patch fixing this issue, then our next step should be commenting under YouTubers’ videos to spread the word further

I think the message under EA’s Twitter posts should look like this:

Try this -> every time u launch the game, play Moment in UT first (milestone works best)
first match usually drops fps, just play it till the end
if fps still isn’t back, play the match again
do this a couple times and your fps should go back to normal
if not, just keep replaying till it’s fixed

once fps is back, it won’t drop again until u close the game

i can’t guarantee it’ll work for everyone, but for me this is the only way that works right now

none of the 'fixes' suggested do anything other than temporarily change your settings, which may temporarily make it work. The issue is that the settings are bugged. What you set them to is not what is applied, and it reverts no matter what you do. Somehow it bugs the game and causes input delay as well as the stuttery cutscenes

It's like the game is trying to pull settings from multiple locations and causing a conflict with itself

but it's definately the settings. Sometimes even changing a control setting or camera setting will 'fix' it as it forces the game to update your settings, then it breaks again

Rushed PC port that they have no clue how to optimize. I have no other ideas. Every single year we have similiar issues.

it was lightning fast, felt like a new game

then it reverted

you can tell when you've got the 'bug' because it happens in kickoff offline

passes are slower and dribbling is less responsive

when its 'good', passes just ping and dribbling is turbo charged, the whole gamee is just quicker

I have a theory that the game is somehow accessing settings from your cloud data, and that's why it keeps reverting

various things I have noticed can 'fix' it temporarily;

resetting yoru match making settings (even though I've never changed them)

chaning your camera, changing display settings, changing passing options etc

then the gameplay will change, even if settings appear correct in the menus

Regarding the FPS drop in the second half of the match – this method solved the problem for me. Even though I’m playing on low graphics settings, I can now play at 60 FPS (I’m not sure if it works on higher settings, and I don’t want to risk it as long as it’s working). Here’s what I do: when I go into Division Rivals and the FPS starts to drop in the second half, if I’m losing, I just quit the match and restart the game. Usually, after 3–4 restarts, the FPS drop disappears completely and I can play normally without any stuttering

Well, I was able to play te complete fut champions, just had one game with low fps and another where my gamepad stop working, but I found out this is happening if you activate GPU acceleration in windows settings, I disabled it and there you go, did not happen anymore, and also fps were stable. With that being said, I want to say thank you for all your help.

you only think it's fixed. Settings revert and input delay occurs. You probably don't notice but it happens and the game feels different every game when the settings change. The issue is the settings file keeps changing and no matter what you set it to, nothing stops it. It 'thought' i fixed it as well. Then it happened again

It is working for me so far, I got that issue again after update, played few rivals matches and didn't noticed any delay, settings file doesn't change if you don't mess up with graphics preset, but if you put different settings in graphic preset except for ea default graphics preset like low,medium,high, settings get saved

not true. I just spent about an hour and half opening and closing the game, turning vsync on and off and trying to set settings. I can tell you for a FACT vsync does not work when set to on, 90% of the time. My fps were in the hundreds, and not capping as vsync should. Then it miraculously worked. There is no rhyme or reason to whether the game loads the correct settings

im telling you 100% there is some layer that is running in the background that is responsible for this

it is accessing files or cloud data

and it overwrites your local file

because the settings that load aren't necessarily the ones in the fcsetup.ini file. I checked it every time

because it's not reacting to what you're doing instantly

because the animations are contextual and responsive to your input

it seems when its bugged it 'averages out' your input so it still looks smooth but it's not as responsive

tackling and defending is actually really snappy and good when it's not bugged, passes ping around and skill moves are fast

I also find my custom tactics sometimes don't work in game, corner kick roles mess up etc

and I suspect the actual tactic as well, because sometimes they player instructions don't work and other times they do exactly what I've seet

i would blame the anti cheat but I don't think they had one last year or 24 and i had the same problem

so I think there is a layer that access the cloud and saves your settings on it, and it's desyncing

I had the same issue with 24 and 25. I thought it was related to the playstyle plus activation, as that used to cause a stutter and indicate i had the bug. All I know is, sometimes the game is super, like hyper responsive, and other times it's heavy, but not to the point someonee would notice if they hadn't had the 'good' gameplay. I'm talking online and offlin, same thing happens in kickoff

it makes me wonder if it's a bug to get the fast gameplay to be honest

all I can really say about it is that your players feel light as a feather, respond instant to changes of direct and stop when you stop your input. When it's heavy, they don't accelerate or stop as fast, and passing is slower as well. The whole ai of the team changes both attack and defense as it respods to your left stick inputs

all the complaints about talkles being hard to do, defends to slow to respond etc come from when it's heavy. When its fast you can anticipate on defense and tackle instantly

i've spent like 200 hours trying to fix this issue messing with settings. It's something in the game either intentional or unintentional

what people call the DDA or scripting when you're players feel heavy, but I get in offline in kickoff modes

Well, after doing lots of things, I give up, the only thing to do everytime before playing Rivals o Champions is to play 1 game for squadbattles and wait for the first hast so FPS drops, then complete it and then you can play any game without fps dropping. About the Gamepad, what I did was to disable GPU hardware acceleration in windows settings and that helped me to be able to use my control. But even with all this workarounds, this should be something for a beta game not the official game, next time I won't buy this game @mental smelt since you have no idea about optmizing a game. Not worth it, your game does not cost $100, this is the biggest scam all times. UFL has better performance, it's a shame what all here in this thread are experiencing and you just don't care, simple as that. Very disappointing.

This is disgrace. For a company with over 20 years working and developing games to having those problems. After unlimited tries to fix my fps because after half time my pc was freezing to 3-4 fps…when the same time until half time I was playing with 90 FPS…after formatting my PC just for your GAME FFS…Now there’s a new problem. I have tracked in a log when FPS crashed and checked with Copilot and it seems this is a problem with Frostbite engine

• RAM (FB Usage): stable at ~543 MB (out of 4 GB available)
• CPU Usage: varied between 3–35%, with no bottlenecks or overheating
• RAM Usage: ~8.5 GB, no saturation

Does the controller work normally in other games? I assume so. If so, the problem is known. At least I've read a few such problems here. EA must act as quickly as possible. For many, the game is simply unplayable. They could have burned the money, they would have had more of it. This is not a state of affairs.

What I did to play decent was to activate V-sync and limited my fps to 120 same as my monitor resolution which is 120hz, then went to in game settings and activate v-sync too and dynamic resolution on, and set the resolution to 120 fps too, and aslo fps at 120. after first half I have a fps drop but not sure if this settings helps to go back to normal real quick, I hope this can help anyone here

After 20 days of investigating and testing all kinds of things to fix the crashes, I can finally say that I found a solution — thanks to a comment on the EA forum.

I’m leaving both solutions here, for Intel and AMD users:

AMD:
Download the program Ryzen Master and set your CPU to power-saving mode — that’s it. If you’re a more advanced user, you can perform undervolting directly from the BIOS. (And of course, make sure Secure Boot is enabled in your BIOS so that EA’s Anti-Cheat works properly.)

INTEL:
Maybe I have found a solution for some of you. I had the same issues as you. Sometimes my game crashed when starting it, sometimes randomly in the menu or in a match. I tried everything I could to fix it. But during the last three weeks, nothing helped. I couldn't even launch F1 anymore. Yesterday, when Battlefield 6 came out, I faced a similar issue. I simply could not start the game without crashing. I searched even more to find a solution.

That's when I came across the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility software. I downloaded Version 7 to be able to change my CPU core ratios. I have an Intel Core i7-13700K. The Performance Core Ratio was set to 53x. I changed it to 50x. With this setting changed, I was able to start Battlefield 6 without problems. When I tried F1 and EAFC 26, everything worked as it should.

Today, when I started my PC, I couldn't start EAFC 26 again. I found out that Intel’s software doesn’t save the ratios. So I downclocked my Performance Cores again and it worked. You can change it in the Intel software settings so that you don’t have to redo it every time you start your PC. Otherwise, you can change it directly in the BIOS — that could be an alternative.

I’ve spent 20 long days searching for this solution, and I know how frustrating it can be. That’s why I rushed to post it as soon as possible. I really hope it helps you!

It seems that the crashes in EA Sports FC 26 come from poor optimization of the Frostbite engine, which makes some CPUs, like my Ryzen 9 5900X, unstable when voltage or frequency changes suddenly. I enabled Eco-Mode in AMD Ryzen Master, and the crashes completely disappeared. This mode slightly limits power (PPT/TDC/EDC), lowers boost clocks a bit, and stabilizes voltage, preventing the electrical spikes that the game doesn’t handle well. Performance loss is minimal (~2–4%), but stability improves drastically.

Technical note:
The Frostbite engine and DirectX 12 are very sensitive to brief voltage or frequency spikes. On Ryzen CPUs, Precision Boost Overdrive can push the voltage too high during sudden load changes (like entering menus, cutscenes, or shader compilation). Eco-Mode keeps power and voltage within a stable range, smoothing out those transitions — which is why it completely eliminates the crashes.

I found a solution for mine even though it it’s not what I paid 100$ for.

Go to your display settings
Restore to default,
(Which set my screen on the first resolution there which I think is 1280x something)
Then I changed my refresh rate to 144hz then fps is on 60

Change the ratio to 16:10 or so depending on what you feel is okay

But I think the main thing is resetinh your display settings
Which is meant to take you to full screen mode

But don’t change the mode the default gives you

I play 60 fps 70 Hz and vysns off full screen it's worked for me if you lag in menus try to play 2. Time moment even if lagging if not working for you try to go on moment game and disconnect internet and play one game on kick off and then enable the internet and go ultimate team and play one game moment and here you go 😉 enjoy FC 26

I'm looking for 2023 anticheat. I want to do the troubleshooting players did.
I believe this FPS issue has something to do with Anticheat.
I was playing career mode(which is offline), yet anticheat is spiking to 12% CPU usage, especially when my opponent(CPU) wants to take the ball from me or make a dribble or play a counter.
