#Issue: Server Delay & Matchmaking Instability

Summary:
Before fixing gameplay balance, EA must stabilize servers and matchmaking.
Delay makes defense impossible and creates false feedback about balance.
Fix the foundation first (server load, matchmaking by connection quality, hidden input delay), otherwise every gameplay adjustment will break the game even more.

Time-based performance differences (Japan time):

09:00–22:00 → Very heavy delay, passes go in wrong directions, first touch is uncontrollable, defense AI is too slow to track back. Impossible to play proper manual defense aswell.

22:00–05:00 → Game suddenly feels 2x faster, passes connect, defense reacts. Feels like a completely different game.

Connection quality on my side:

Wired LAN, DL 550Mbps / UL 300Mbps, stable ping 4–6ms at all times.

The issue is clearly not the user’s connection, but server load or opponent’s connection quality.

Why this matters:

Current feedback from players worldwide (bad defense, stupid keeper animations, random passing, etc.) is inconsistent because delay causes these issues to appear or disappear randomly.

If EA keeps tuning gameplay balance without fixing this foundation, adjustments will be meaningless or even make things worse.

Defense especially looks broken because inputs are delayed.

Requests:

  1. Stabilize servers 24/7 so performance is the same regardless of time zone.

  2. Match players by connection quality (stable vs stable), not just region.

  3. Remove hidden delay in “important matches” where suddenly one side becomes slower.

  4. Fix this foundation before touching gameplay balance.

Gameplay balance cannot be evaluated properly under current delay.

And even when delay is low (for example late night hours), defense is still broken compared to offense.
I play with full manual switching (no auto-switch even for loose or air balls).

Switching feels delayed, defenders “glide, skate, floats, stops” instead of reacting.

Also R1 second press pulls defenders away from the ball instead of pressuring sometimes.

AI positioning is poor: they run away from the ball, leave holes, and through passes succeed too easily.

This is not a “skill issue.”
I can score goals easily too — that only proves offense always has the advantage. Defense cannot properly stop attacks even with perfect manual control.

Yea I know, just use mid to difence, use r1 second press and depand last line with AI.People are saying its OP but its not once you know how to play this style.
I wanna use manual difence but right now its just awful.

Very slow gameplay during the same time zones as before, even with the new patch.
Manual defense still feels exactly the same — delayed and unresponsive, as I explained above.
I’m not enjoying it anymore. I’m sick of constantly adapting to different game speeds every few hours.

I’m still winning matches, but it doesn’t feel rewarding anymore.
It’s not about skill — it’s about adapting to a broken system.
Even when I win, the gameplay feels inconsistent and unbalanced, so there’s no satisfaction left.
I mean I'm so sorry for opponents when they are slow but I'm faster.

The “kick-off goal fix” in the new patch doesn’t solve anything.
It only makes players start in a tighter formation, but the real issue is still there —
defenders don’t react properly, and spacing collapses again right after the ball moves.
This change is cosmetic, not a real solution

Ping means nothing right now — it always shows 4–6ms, but gameplay speed changes every match.
Sometimes it’s super fast, other times it’s extremely delayed, even with the same connection.
Please show actual server or opponent distance (IP route or server region) instead of fake ping values,
and allow players to choose or filter matchmaking based on that data.
Let us decide who to play with, instead of being forced into random delay every match.

In the other hand at midnight(JPT), gameplay suddenly feels unnaturally fast — like the entire match is in fast-forward mode.
It doesn’t feel realistic at all, just like rushing through the game.
This proves that the server synchronization is completely inconsistent.

It’s not “smooth,” it’s just too fast, like everyone is on turbo mode.
It’s embarrassing and feels nothing like real football.
