Good evening, I have the following problem: since the latest update I can no longer start FC26. After the small loading screen, a black screen tab appears in the top left corner of the screen and then closes again. After that, I end up back in the EA Play app. Has anyone had the same problem and can help? Thanks a lot in advance.

same happens to me. but im now getting the error failed to launch game. An error on our end caused the launch to fail. try again a little later

Guys, I found a solution, but i dont know if it works for everybody

Go Windows + R and White Msconfig. Go on services and active de option about Windows Apps, the enable de ones that ara from EA. Restart the pc and open de game as administrator

If do not works, before everything, repair the game

1️⃣ Manually delete the corrupted files

Go to the game folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\EA FC 26 (or wherever you installed the game)

Identify the files that Steam reports as corrupted (if the error message gives the names).

Delete these files.

Relaunch Steam’s Verify Integrity of Game Files → it should re-download only those files.

2️⃣ Clear Steam’s download cache

Steam → Settings → Downloads → Clear Download Cache

Restart Steam and verify the game files again.

3️⃣ Check Steam folder permissions

Right-click the Steam folder → Properties → Security → make sure your user account has Full Control.

If not, give yourself full access and try again.

4️⃣ Temporarily disable antivirus / Windows Defender

Sometimes antivirus software blocks files during download.

Pause your antivirus or create an exception for the Steam folder.

Then re-verify the game files.

5️⃣ Change Steam download server

Steam → Settings → Downloads → Download Region → select a different nearby server.

Then verify the game files again.

If the same files still fail, it might be a Steam or EA server issue. In that case, it’s best to contact EA Support via Steam and provide them with the exact list of corrupted files.
