Need help with EA SPORTS FC 26 install (.NET Framework issue on G: drive)
Hey everyone, I’m stuck trying to install EA SPORTS FC 26 on my Windows 11 PC and could really use some help.
EA’s installer keeps trying to run the .NET Framework 4.0 Client redistributable (41 MB) during setup.
My system already has .NET 4.8 installed, but EA keeps forcing its own .NET 4 client installer.
Every time, it extracts to a random folder on my G: drive (example: G:\ad77f26d0a9d6f466add0f5cfc48).
Then it fails with errors like 0x80070005 (Access Denied) or 0x80070009 (Failed to extract).
I’ve already tried:
Running EA Desktop and the installer as admin
Manually fixing registry keys for .NET 4
Changing file/folder permissions on G:\EA SPORTS FC 26
Disabling antivirus / Windows Defender temporarily
But EA keeps recreating new random folders on G: during install, and they don’t inherit the write permissions correctly, so the installer fails again.
👉 Does anyone know a reliable way to either:
Stop EA from trying to install its bundled .NET 4 client, OR
Fix the permissions on G: so every new folder EA creates is automatically writable?
Any advice would be hugely appreciated — I’ve been stuck looping on this for hours 🙏
