I don't know for sure cause based on my tests, having prickly and lb to keep poison on without hammering, is still a dps loss since I have to stop sunflowering.

That 1 sec (maybe less), somehow is either a dps loss, or perhaps is just stopping the dps flow which I find annoying.

Also I can't find anywhere how having 5 poison stacks would increase the dps overall.

I tried today with a dummy, for me it was 35k max crit with 5 stacks of poison, 33k max crit without. I think I'll ditch poison, hammer and dng for 30 gm sunflower after I complete this BP. And see how it works.

hmmm that's expensive as hell, maby worth going after 100 stack of SF but vine scaling is horible 5x compared to 7.2x for SSF with a gcd of 0.8 on top
you can triple dase on 2 first crit aka 36% of the time at 60%crit rate (again crit comes in a row often due to onrush so maby more)

i would go 18 and replace DnG by DnR
but you have to wait for poison to expire each time

BUT if you stay at 30 and get another gold SF instead of a gold vine it's 148% from GM, a damage increase of 5% on all SF/SSF

so only 4 books left for
besties, drain, daybreak, cat q, PT/HS, stealth, grab

stealth and grab is a must have no reason for argument.
so only 2 books left
besties will save alot of teammates, and will buff your dps around 1k/hit for 10sec but just dont get hit .
drain the 6s honey buff is nice as long as u have critrate cause as u sayed if u dont crit its over pretty fast cause without legy hornet you need to cast rmb if pre hit doesnt crit. without legi hornet the dps from 6hornet stacks or drain book is kinmda the same (the additional damage on legy is way higher). without drain u can also proc your badge (if u hit around 80% crit in a dungeon compared with hiveswarm u can have 100% honey buff).(the extra add damage is way higher on legi hornet nest)
daybreak is nice to have, u get 5x 4 focus back and your team around you 5x 2 focus back. its very strong cause you will need focus for you. also the 1sec resist can help u aswell.
cat qgives 4x 2 focus back to u and your team around the cat. some classes love it and your profit about it is also very high. in combo with q, badge and daybreak u can maybe have enough focus to be fine for hold macro most of the time
PST, HSPST is a huge dps but also a gamble about focus. kabloom need 1 focus and if u crit u get 2 focus back. if no crit 0 focus back. but it deals around 8% from your dps. HS applies honey aswell but only for 4sec, gives 5x2 focus back for u and your team around it and def up 200%. without legi hornet i would recommend PST cause u have enough focus but here HS is maybe more woth? rip dps.

you will need the focus so you should go for cat q cause it gives overall the most amount of focus / sec and hive swarm, cause focus
you cant play with petal storm toss cause if u dont have focus u can press every 2 sec kabloom

i would highly recommend 0 def stacks cause your qol as a hornet summoner will be alot easier if u just go for 0 def down stacks and use besties, drain, daybreak for it. if u do that u can change back from hive swarm to PST for more dps overall, or u stay with hive swarm cause u need it for sf or if u wanna supp your team more with focus, def

48hornet with all u need for a good summoner(1x more hornet or 1x drain doesnt really make a diff) overall pref drain, cause its cheaper than hornet book + if u wanna switch to sf u have the book u need
