I'm too lazy to do the math but you're comparing your hornet AP ratio (5.8+.5) to Heat Ray damage (9.1), taking that and adding in GM to hornets, then dividing the difference between them by the ratio of hornets:heat rays per min then comparing that to the gain you'd get from another 2 GM for hornet blue book

purple sun is more than hornet if you have enough stacks, but also only personal dps

From my experience, and what I've seen through parties, the summoners that were Hornet, higher stats than me, failed in dps compared to my measly Sunflower build.

1 also doesn't matter at all, if you have enough focus you could use it to fish for another crit for instant hornet cast but no one cares about that

remove 1 hornet stack for raging lash if your party needs more cc

Based on my experience, if you start with Hornet, you'll lack dps. If you wanna play only as support, so a cc machine/increase party damage, then yea Hornet can work at the start.

Later on, sunflower is masterrace, but that's my opinion.
