every top puncutre player

is using the forbidden macro

that only cast puncutre when you crit either lmb or tab

so the max boost is basically useless

and you cannot drop lmb or tab cos they are your crit buff and also the speed is the same due to GCD even if you drop 1 skill

so that max boost buff on leg puncutre only is basically useless, and puncture got the least amount of pure damage increase out of all 4 builds

it might makes it better if you have really low gear and cannot maintain 50% crit, that will be the case for bt, but not anything below that.

These are the basic of puncture build, tldr ppl already find a way to do lmb tab rmb combo consistently 95% of the time, the max boost won’t solve focus issue

And it almost does not increase the damage at all

the detection macro saves you from spending 2 focus for nothing if you don't crit, it doesnt really increase damage all that much, if you only crit lmb then you are still -3 focus for that rotation

not having to use that macro helps on situtations like pin where you have infinite focus and you want to puncture regardless of criting or not (after buff)

Either way it doesn’t change the combo and also doesn’t solve the focus issue, the case you described should almost never happen for a geared bm, and how many ppl without good gear will have access to leg puncture

Hence that max boost, especially only on legendary book, is useless

DT has additional 60% uptime of 3.75 ap/s with heat buff so 2.25

DT has additional 3.6 ap/s during grab/grapples.

DT has additional 10% crit dmg due to being in draw stance. Draw stance buff pretty much cancels out stone slash bonuses.

Final AP/s is pretty much similar, 30.45 vs 33.1 without grab.

so if u have sum in group DT gonna perform similar to HS with grapple. if you dont have sum, DT is still good since now u will have def down for the boss.

single target build is kind trash, from what i heard wind kfms are also crying in kr

even tho they are 50% above everyone expect lightning bd and myabe a mega whale shadow wl in term of dungeon dps

and their damage is slightly higher than lightning bd as well.

puncture is not stronger by any means, even single target it got changed to a burst build that has mediocre consistent damage.

puncture after buff is like what, 31.7ap/sec without flock, which is not that much better than dt and hs, but then these 2 get more from stacks.

with flock is 42 something which is good, but after considering the gm damage probably wont even be that much better compare to dt/hs normal rotation.

the always max boost change took away too much potential number changes to the skill and the skill still suffers from you cannot split stack like ligthning bd

puncture is still only around 60% of the damage before stacks when dt/hs the main stacking skill is with 90%+ share. also the change did not solve the focus issue at all for puncture, unless you have ture+ timestream for the focus recovery, it wont even be that comfortable in later content.

• the dc issue, there is really no reason to play it unless you are already far into the build and hope for the future.
