#Controller and Steam Deck support

Is already pretty playable on the Deck! Would suggest trigger instead of bumper for zoom, and mapping a button to "hello", but otherwise it's been perfectly playable for me.
I would suggest a toggle such that the twin joysticks could control both eyes independently
4 player Split screen mode? 😄
Yes

I've booted this up on my TV using Steam Link on my chromecast and played Snailsim with a PS4 controller. It's already very playable as is, except for menu navigation and menu sliders.
Bumping this I guess, since you asked for feedback on controller support. #announcements message
Just tested it again. It works fine with the PS4 Dualshock controller. But 2 things:
- There is no standard layout. So you have to make this yourself. Which is fine but you have to be at your PC and it's kinda trial and error for what works nice. Mapping a button to an action was easy enough. But getting the zooming speed or camera movement speed right took a lot more effort (mostly because Steam offers a LOT of options) and it would be nice to have a working setting "out of the box".
- Menu support is poor. This controller (PS4 dualshock) has a touchpad which let's you move the mouse cursor but the menu buttons are very small. Which is fine on PC with a mouse but on your TV with a touchpad it's finicky. I guess it could be as simple as changing it to having as having 1 highlighted button/slider at a time and being able to change the current highlighted button/slider with both the cursor and the arrow keys. I'm guessing that the arrow keys will automatically translate to most controllers.
I'm not really sure how this works but I guess in the ideal situation the app pushes a standard button layout to Steam for every type of controller out there. Perhaps we can get a bunch of people (with different controllers) together on the discord server to actively test this stuff out.
Hi! I came over to say I loaded in with an Xbox Series X controller on Windows 10, and my camera controls are mapped incorrectly. The left-right on the stick moves the camera up-down, and up-down moves the camera left-right. I wasn't sure the best place to report this, but I did see that the dev was looking for feedback for non-Switch controllers! Since the Xbox controllers are natively supported in Windows and shouldn't need any extra software to map, I figured it might be important feedback!
Here's a video of the inputs versus the results if it helps. Also, I would have expected the start button to bring up the menu, but it doesn't ✌️
If this is helpful, I also have these controllers:
- Xbox One
- Xbox 360
- Playstation 3
- Playstation 4
- Playstation 5
ooooo thanks so much!!

Side note: this is on my short list, and I expect to work on it very soon!
This is nice to have, but other things might be more needed
