choosing to login through discord gets me stuck on this loading screen forever.

Does the same issue occur with Steam login?

That screen should open up a browser window to finish the login via steam and/or Discord

That's odd. Consider checking your windows settings on how discord links are opened. Also check to see if Discord itself is trying to open it.
