Is it still possible to play HotaruSR-2.7.0 by downloading the 2.7.0 client?

Basically, on 2.7.0, I'm getting the infinite loading on a blank message problem, which I'm guessing is the game trying to download a hotfix that doesn't exist (on my server). I've read that I'm supposed to login to official to download the hotfix to solve the problem, however, official is now in 3.0.0. Thus, my question is: is there a way to still play on 2.7.0 / older versions by downloading their client (from the github repo), or do I have to use 3.0.0 now so I can get the hotfix?
