Hello everyone, it’s Friday again!

Autumn is arriving beautifully here in Korea. The Korean word “Gaeul” (가을) means “the season of harvest.” It’s the time when the weather turns cool, crops ripen, and fruits are ready to be gathered — right before the cold winter begins.
If you ever plan to visit Korea, this is truly the best season to do so. I really recommend experiencing this “autumn.”
I also hope that inZOI, through steady development, will have its own “season of harvest” next fall. 🍂

Now, I realized I forgot to share one very important piece of information with you:

🕒 inZOI’s October Update Schedule

  • KST: October 30th, 15:00
  • UTC: October 30th, 06:00

This update has been in development for about 1 month and 3 weeks, so it’s a bit smaller in scale — I hope for your understanding.

As for this week’s progress:
We’re wrapping up features for the October Halloween update. When your character becomes a ghost, they’ll gain supernatural abilities, and we’ve added various new poses and dances for photo shoots.
We’ve also improved the “Expectations” system and continued work on the new “Traits” feature introduced earlier.
You’ll find new Halloween dishes to cook, as well as graves and ghosts with their own personal stories. 👻

That’s the summary of this week’s inZOI development progress!

Saw a video of a sims (modded) gameplay where a sim got pregnant, one wanted the baby and the other didn’t. This led to moodles like a sadness for the zoi who was pregnant knowing that their partner was excited about the baby but they were dreading it. This is just an example of the depth that gameplay in lifesims should have — and I really hope InZoi continues to reach that level expanding past to various different types of interactions and feelings for zois (maybe regretting the life path they took, suddenly missing a family member after seeing a photo with them in the house, etc etc)

It would also be nice to see mood based animations, such as varying posture when they are sad, neutral or angry (as sad zoi may sit down in a more slouched position, a neutral one may be more relaxed and an angry one may look more tense.), different animations based on context and relationship (zois may appear more natural and relaxed with one another when they have a good relationship, gesturing freely and leaning on one another when laughing, whereas with zois that have a bad relationship or are not very familiar may not make as much eye contact, or sit further apart in a room.), as well as personality driven expressions and animations (especially when individual traits and walk styles are introduced — a sassy zoi may flip their hair, smile more when talking, and use more dramatic gestures, shy one may speak more softly, and a playful one may laugh more wildly and lean closer in conversation.)

These tiny details, especially when all paired together, will make Inzoi feel so much more alive, and allow the user to feel their zois individuality and truly imagine and understand how their zoi is feeling to create a deeper connection within the game!

Can you work more on the lore of Psy cat. I would really like to see development of it as I think it will be a unique feature that other simulation games will not have. Especially when you die of and ghost and super natural creatures. I think it might fit the theme very well.

Also

I think it is best to pass on AI building. If the results aren’t consistent and isn’t smart enough to know what the player is asking for - it’s probably going to cause more frustration and friction between player and game.

When you create animations that the player directs - I hope that you make the time it takes realistic to the task. For example if showering - it should take about 30 mins in game time. Bathing would be an hour in game time. Cleaning would be 2-3 hours depending on how dirty the house is. Eating by yourself - with a small meal 15 in hour game time. Travelling from 1 place to another depending on how far away from point A to B should affect in game time. Every animation and interaction should not be the same. It shouldn’t be a one size fits all application. It should fit the theme of the interaction. This should a basic foundational principle.

Further to this if the task is cancelled by the player. The Zoi should immediately do so. There shouldn’t be a delay.

I’m going to wait until after December update to play the game. I want to see actual progress and would rather wait.

Happy Autumn "Gaeul" Kjun and team ❤️ I'm battling a cold due to the back and forth weather change here in Michigan USA 🤧 But hearing this update makes me feel so much better inside. I look forward to seeing what ghosts can do, overall looking forward to the entire update. I had a feeling that the update release was going to be around Halloween "Perfect Timing" Thank you again for all the effort, love and feedback from your fans that you pour into Inzoi. Update: After watching the video, ghost play looks so freaking phenomenal and fun. I love the chaos that ghost can create in a living Zois life. TRICK OR TREATING is a cool feature and I love that kids get more activities to do, this a fun feature thank you for listening to us. And the house decorations for Halloween, OMG I can see this time of the year being fun for me and my Zois. This is awesome news Kjun, awesome job team. I'm not the player that does alot of complaining, this is phenomenal and I can't wait to see more and more updates from you guys. You just made my day, I can't wait til the 30th 🫶❤️😍

📆 It would be amazing if the whole town (or a specific street) was fully decorated for each big event like Halloween etc. For exemple, a pop up on the day of the event would say ' There's an event today at this location, get ready for some spooky times 🎃 ' and our zois can participate or just go to see the decorations! That's one of many ways to make the city more alive !

Hey Kjun! I’d like to say thanks for another great video, firstly I wanted to ask more tools for Geforce users to enjoy customization in their gameplay as there is still no way to upload custom images for billboards or to simply put family photos in your house, and no way to upload ai videos for poses or animations. I really think that being able to upload things from a seperate device to store in a canvas library, or being able to use links from youtube/google drive/imgur would be a good workaround.
Would also be nice to see something like Machinima studio, which could function similar to the photo studio in some ways.

Aside from this, I think it would be nice to see more events, such as open invite events (which depending on the type, may only be attended by zois with matching personalities or lifestyles — for example a more introverted or classy zoi may not attend a wild party. ), as well as things like galas, neighborhood meetings, barbecues, teen party, work events, public speaking event (for zois with a high reputation) and more!

I am loving the ghost play as it is, it reminds me of Ghost Masters in a very good way. The animations for comforting at funerals are amazing, it was moving just to watch them. Looking forward for more info about the update Kjun_Heart

My favourite additions are trick or treating and the FX effects! CAZ is looking amazing, so many additions of such good quality, even ghost play looks cool. You guys are going in the right direction, as a personal proposal I would say maybe in the future we can get an adult activity for halloween such a cluedos or haunted towns/houses.

But I'm wondering: was the original karma idea of ghosts reworked? Do Zois still need bad karma to become a ghost (or at least not a perfect karma)?
I see a time limit also. Is the goal to still improve ghost's karma? What are the consequences if karma isn't improved.

I am so EXCITED!!! Halloween is my favorite holiday and Fall is my favorite season! I cannot wait to play the Halloween/Fall update!!

Got a few suggestions:

  1. I would love it if we could buy limited-time Halloween/Christmas/Easter items in the farming store during holidays, so our Zoi can collect them and decorate the home. A text message from the store when the items are available would be awesome!

  2. It would be amazing if the entire world could be decorated with a Halloween/Christmas/Easter theme. Imagine a huge Christmas tree with lights in the central park! It would add so much charm to exploring the city.

  3. And, for an extra layer of fun, how about introducing an extremely evil ghost in the game? It could have its own lore, and we'd have to be careful not to let it possess our house. If we don't call an exorcist, it could possess our Zois and ultimately kill them! 🙊👻

Hello Kjun! It’s such a joy to see your creativity in full bloom! Everything looks so fresh, rich, and even delicious. And your early original Karma + Ghost Play turned out to be a perfect fit for this Autumn update. Those have been some of inZOI’s most exciting features from the very beginning – I’m really looking forward to them!

And as I mentioned earlier, most of what I proposed in the previous brainstorm found its place in your response, and some ideas were even directly reflected – especially in the context of immersion, and of course, Bubbly! Much appreciated!

The suggestion to control ’City Stability (Crime Rate)’ was also echoed, but rest assured – we’re simply reiterating your ideas from time to time, boss (please don’t forget each: Control City Stability, Control Environment, City Appearance – those are your aces).

What I’m especially hoping for is that City Appearance will let us dress up and customize the whole city for the holidays – whether it’s Halloween or Christmas down the line.

And with original Control Environment: Run-Down and City Safety: Low we could turn Halloween night into a full-blown post-apocalypse!

wait omg, i love the aspect of having trick or treating!! And are u saying funerals will be added next Thursday??? Thats LITERALLY so great, this game has so much potential!! I love how the ghosts have so much power too 😭 for future updates im wondering if we can get hand holding in December, the apocalypse feature back, a mini map for driving/GPS/radio system. Functional hair blowdryers/brushes/skincare, hair salons. Wasd for surfing with added waves, ik you said ur working parking for atleast one car per zoi family. Im hoping that parking also includes when you go about in the world and you can just park your car anywhere! Anyways this is great im super excited!!

It would be nice if not everyone can see ghost. But only those zoi with "ability to see ghost" in their gene and passed on their child(ren) for generations to come. Like bloodline with that ability trait kinda of thing.

And i hope there have option to turn off ghost in game.

This time (well, if not this time, then next – no worries), continuing the thread of immersion, I’d like to share a UX/UI concept for clothing selection and purchase in a branded boutique, using Nook’s Select Shop in Bliss Bay as an example, inspired by modern games. Following this concept:

• Each branded boutique can offer its own assortment and collections; players can optionally lock this stuff in CAZ.
• This approach allows you to deliver content not just as bunch of standalone items in CAZ, but as part of fictional (or may be real) brands, collections, and gameplay systems including in-game (!) pricing, discounts, and seasonal drops.
• Once business mechanics are introduced, players would be able to create their own brands, import or generate logos, order custom designs, manage collections and pricing.
• A stylish and airy area of the boutique (like fitting rooms, etc.) is designated as a try-on zone, which becomes a unique backdrop for this boutique’s CAZ-style UI.
• boutique’s CAZ-style UI will feature at the top a logo and a shopping cart. Instead of the vertical CAZ “Outfit Presets” tab, there would be new tabs: Nook’s (or another logo – showcasing a magazine-style layout of the current collection) and Sales (previous collection/ seasonal discounted items).
• Each item would display its novelty (N), price/“on sale”, color and pattern options, and an Add to Cart button.
• At the bottom: a Total Amount field and a Proceed to Checkout button replacing “Complete.” (to pick up the cart and physically proceed to the checkout for payment (or cancel and leave without paying just like it works now.)
Go back is cancel purchase; “Create a Zoi” is replaced with the boutique name.

A similar UI could be implemented across beauty, jewelry, and tattoo salons (if supported, of course.)

Will the Ghost feature be toggle able in the game meaning we can turn that gameplay on/off? I don’t mind ghosts but sometimes when you don’t have control over them, they can wreak havoc and that’s my only concern. Or if there is an option to decide if we want to play the Ghost or send them to the beyond.

wait i love this idea. It reminds me of rockstars red dead redemption tailor shops/barbers. If they can have hair salons that do this too maybe they can show the zoi in a salon chair and then you select what hair you want. Also!! Having the clothes be limited to the salon so that you actually have to go there and get them would be great and add to immersion because its only within that store.

this is pretty random request but for the amusement parks can we have the ability to watch our zoi ride on the rides instead of being only in first person mode? Also when we're driving can we get the ability to drive and the camera automatically moves with the movement? It can be difficult to drive and turn the camera all at once. Oh and if a jump feature could be added!

Hi Kjun, I love the new halloween content as I said above! Can ask you if you would consider adding direct keyboard controls for actions like the ones we have for controllers right now? For example, E for interacting with objects, I or B for the inventory/bag, etc. It would add immersion and people who don't like it could just click as they've always done.

I love the update so far! The only thing I dont like about the trick or treating is that kids are asking all strangers on the street passing by for it. I feel itd be better to just stick to only homes being able to do this and people on the residential lot able to give candy.

Maybe instead of asking random people on the street for candy, they could go to restaurants or stores and get candy instead?

I love how you guys are building up the lore of this game! Please keep this up man, having such an amazing lore/backstory will always keep us gamers coming back for more I swear. One of the first things I was trying to figure out was literally how to get upstairs in the library after speaking with the librarian lmao I would love to see her like owning pyscat or like being able to do some sort of task/mission where we can ask for second chance at life by speaking with pyscat or the black cat (sorry I forgot their name). I also see their use to be an apocalypse feature that was removed? I would love to see that reimplemented into the game! So we can have the chance to have a save file just full of bad karma and to see the possibilities of what could happen. Could there be a possibility to use the original, pre-0.30 (pre-cahaya) UI in the future as an option ?

There have been a couple update to the UI since and a new one is around the corner in October.
Each time it makes part of the UI bigger or change a component. The pre-Cahaya or "slim" UI as I call it, had a slim emotion bar, a smaller round portrait, small "urges" bar with a white line that grew shorter the less time you had to complete it, no Zoi bubbles over their head, and had the infamous "Cat's eye" pointer. Now many of us loved that early design, and I dare say we would still chose it if we had the chance.

Since many love the new UI and the bigger things without having to "mouse over" each component, I do not want to deprive them of it, but it would be REALLY NICE if we could have the old one as an option !

Is that something that would be possible or are you already considering it?

I've seen it asked already but please include a way to disable ghost feature and send all ghosts to the afterlife. We can remember them via their gravestone. I would just prefer some of my save files to be ghost free without having to use the immortality cheat

Yes, that'd be great!! A direct key to open the phone would come in handy too. I'm thinking something like this:

-Toggable/Optional so that people who prefer to click can still click.
-Adding more movement options in the keyboard like jumping (man, I keep pressing space bar to jump and switching family members accidentally haha) or leaning on walls, sitting.
-Quick keys for consumables and UIs like zoi profile, job information, phone, schedule, etc. (should ghost have a quick menu for their powers? just thinking!).
-Quick keys for certain actions like punching, pushing, huging or waving at other zois.

I guess I could just pop up a controller but I'm just not the controller type! I think adding these to the keyboard would feel really good while playing and make the playstyle of inzoi even more unique than it already is!

**Suggestions for Halloween Activities **

🎃 Park (Halloween Festival) 🎃

Park is fully decorated with decor and NPC ZOIs are dressed up in different costumes

**Scarecrow Contest **

Since we are able to pick up items such as sticks and rocks and etc., why not use this mechanic to create fun activities for ZOIs to do? For example, maybe have a time limit where we and NPCs have to go around the park looking for sticks, rocks, leaves and etc. to build a scarecrow. Once time is up, the most complete scarecrow wins a prize.

**Pumpkin Carving Contest **

Depending on a Zoi’s handiness skill level, carving results can vary from bad to good (different variations of pumpkin carvings). A judge panel can examine pumpkins and announce the winner. Maybe a prize exclusively given only during Halloween?

  • Could become a short/long term goal to win 1st prize or etc.

** Face Painting **

Can get your face painted by a NPC ZOI. Different paint designs randomly generated every time you get your face painted. When a zoi washes their face, the face painting will go away.

Bake Off Contest

  • Enter in contest and drop off halloween dessert at a designated table or place
  • Depending on a ZOI’s cooking skill level, dessert baking results can vary from bad to good (different variations of dessert decor). A judge panel can examine the desserts and announce the winner. Maybe a prize exclusively given only during Halloween?
    • Could become a short/long term goal to win 1st prize or etc.

**Scavenger hunt **

Have to find items around the park in a limited time. If all items are found before time is up, a prize is given.

Dance Party with a DJ

Apple/Pumpkin bobbing

Pumpkin bowling

Essentially, just fun halloween themed activities incorporated for something fun to do.

🎃 Restaurant (Orao Oro Restaurant or etc.) 🎃

  • Special Halloween themed food served for breakfast, lunch and dinner
  • Special Halloween themed drinks

  • Buy different protection seals or artifacts to place in home - to ward off ghost, prevent ghosts causing chaos in your household or affect any Zois or etc.
  • Be able to do a seance

🎃 Miscellaneous 🎃

  • A chance to pass away from a jump scare (risks are higher for the elderly)
  • Option to bring back the dead (Maybe have to do a special ritual/mini quest to bring them back? Find ingredients around the city to brew a concoction to bring them back or etc.?)
  • Tell ghost stories in general/ around campfire
  • Supernatural objects with interactions: ouija board, artifact or skill to make ghost more visble or etc.
  • Graveyard digging (consequences such as finding money or accessories that can be sold for money, become possessed by a ghost, a chance to pass away from encountering a ghost, be sent to jail if caught by a cop and etc.)

I like the Halloween event from what we’ve seen, though I find it a bit strange to release 1 day before the holiday. I can’t speak for everyone, but for myself and most of my family and friends, once the holiday has passed, we no longer have any interest in it. With that being said I expect to really only be interested in the Halloween event for 2 days (30th and 31st).. which seems like a waste of dev time.

I’m also disappointed that this update will not contain several of the promised updates from the roadmap. The face/skin modding and object resizing have continued to be my top interests in the progress of this game. I’ve been putting off playing for several months in anticipation of those changes, just to see they will be pushed back, potentially to December, if not longer. 😦

@atomic tangle I for one appreciate that instead of just blindly keeping up with the roadmap they have stopped on their tracks, rethought what the game needed based on player feedback and focused on features that were more demanded by players as opposed to the features they had already planned without player consideration first. Those features will still come to us, and while it is frustrating to wait, I'd rather get other also meaningful updates in the meantime. And personally I would'nt consider this a waste of dev time, as you put it. A lot of us would be playing the Halloween content way beyond the 31st. It's a popular holiday in a lot of countries!

this is actually perfect! I love how the background matches with the interior of the store, its definitely more immersive like this! I would love something like this for clothing and something like rdr2 and gtas barber shop for hair (alongside animations for salons like showing someone wash the hair and blowdry it, after youre seated then a menu could pop up with different hairstyle the zoi could wear) and then afterwards there could be a quick animation of the stylist cutting and styling then the hair you picked pops up. We are all certainly entitled to our opinions. I just find it disingenuous for those of us who were counting the days for an update that had been clearly outlined to us, just to find out within the month the update is supposed to release, that they are focusing on other priorities. I am happy with many of the other changes they are making, and don’t expect their plans not to change based on player feedback. It’s just a personal grievance of mine with the game. The Halloween stuff, like I said, maybe not everyone views the holiday the same way as me. But I would feel the same way if Christmas content was released on December 24th. It just seems a little late.

I appreciate all the hard work of the inzoi team. But I do think this Inzoi discord is a bit of an echo chamber. Outside of discord, on reddit, Instagram, other communities of life-sim and cozy gamers, many people discuss their disappointment with certain hopes for the game. If Kjun would like feedback, as he described, this is mine 🤷🏼‍♀️

Ghost Appearance Rate Slider: This setting lets you control how often ghosts appear in your game. At the lowest setting, ghosts won’t appear at all. At the highest, your city will quickly become filled with ghosts, making it more challenging to help each one earn enough karma points to move on to the afterlife.

Could you confirm if this slider will release with the update? 🙏

Dear kjun,

First of all I want to preface by saying this update was absolutely wonderful! I wasn't expecting so much gameplay to come with it 🤣

I do have a few ideas

When the calendar system comes in december and while the event lasts, how about making random townie zois dress up in costumes at around Halloween? Will make the whole thing feel much more "spooky" 👻

And maybe eventually even have the town transform into a Halloween town with pumpkins, bare trees and corn mazes to let us know it's around the corner? Of course, it isnt as important as christmas town decorations, those I believe will be important to be added even more since in real life, many towns "transform" into christmas around the holiday season. of course, since the update is right around the corner, you may have no time, so it could coincide with halloweens in future years.

Next, the ghost play. First of all, I love how it's got an rpg sort of playstyle, the game could definitely benefit from
it! You know how you need a bell in order to see ghosts? How about some zois who are born with a special hidden trait that allows them to see ghosts without the bell? This could open up a unique career path for them: shaman. They can communicate with spirits (though other zois might think you're a weirdo) and help them reconnect with loved ones, help them to move on, and just overall become friends with them. Likewise, you can put that developing inzoi rumor system into good use to allow the shaman to gain juicy rumors from the ghosts and use it to either blackmail the living or spread it around. Maybe possibly even develop a romance with a ghost? 👀 and finally, maybe even allow regular zois to use ouiji boards to communicate with ghosts, and if there are ghosts nearby, they can play pranks on the zois? From what i know about ghosts, there are 2 types: the playful type who like to pull pranks and the evil type who love to absolutely wreak terror on the living. 1/2

Oh, and also maybe once ghosts are ready to move on, you could choose to either "move on the nether" or something, or "reincarnate". Reincarnated zois will proceed to be born into either your family or a completely random family. Those reincarnated zois could unlock a special new interaction during childhood: talk about past life. And also be born with a higher chance to get that shaman trait I've been talking about. And maybe even get a special moodlet like "nostalgic" while interacting with zois you were close to in your past life?

Maybe even if zois were lovers in a past life and they meet again in the next, they could be "soulmates"? Soulmate relationships are more intense and they feel both the highs and the lows more intensely as well as develop the relatinship faster. Of course, contrary to popular belief, soulmates arent always romantic. They can be friends or even family. For the ease of game (and to ensure a zoi doesn't have 20 soulmates), maybe it could only apply to romantic partners with maxed out family relationship from a past life? Or it could even be user directed. Something like "if I die today, I'll see you in my next life" social interaction to trigger the soulmate functionality only available once per zoi to perform with high relations

Oh, and as a final note: maybe something like a costume category only accessible from live mode around Halloween time so that we're not limited to what the game classifies as costumes if it even does? 👀 that way we can potentially even dress out zois in modded content and 3d printed objects. This same system could be used at around christmas time (if you're planning something like this for december) with christmas hats and ugly sweathers

And of course (if it isn't in game already) leave offerings at the grave like flowers, burning incense, ect. Something to give us gameplay surrounding the dead zois.

Hi Kjun,

First of all, thank you for all your hard work and communication on Inzoi. Many of us have been waiting for a game like this for so long, it means so much to have such a personal experience with the creator. As an avid builder, please see a list of general improvements I think could be made:

Fences can go indoors
Plants dont go thru walls
Stairs take up less space/can be placed Easier. More customizable (add landing, different directions)
Second floor ceiling currently does not show when first floor ceiling has been removed (loft builds)
Allow builders to place furniture, such as vases and small plants, anywhere on surfaces and shelves
Optional furniture options/hotkey (unmade bed vs made bed, open/closed shutters, table cloths, full sinks, empty bookshelves, blankets on ottomans, chairs and couches, pullout couch feet, open/closed signs, half full lemonade pitcher vs full pitcher)
Slider fixes - add arrows on both sides of the slider to manually adjust pattern size/gloss level one by one
Houses dont delete when moving (not a huge priority especially if it impedes on loading etc)
Easier creation of steps/platforms, allowing zois to walk up platforms more than 1 raised level (maybe 2 or 3)

Next autumn will surely be even better. InZoi is gradually improving, and although many people in my country don’t actually play the game, they continue to follow it closely. They are all waiting for the right moment—for a more complete game, for content that appeals to adults, something more engaging. Once everything falls into place, people will flock steadily into the world of InZoi, and many of them can hardly wait as it is.

I hope that before next autumn, InZoi will deepen its features.
For example, what I want most are more in-depth personalities or traits, such as a "protector" trait, a "protected" trait, an "overbearing CEO" personality, and so on. I’d also like to see dominant and recessive genetic traits, which would give me more motivation to have children in the game. Additionally, it would be great to have gameplay focused on collecting rare items—maybe even something like growing plants that can reach unbelievable heights?

I hope InZoi can deliver a better experience for everyone by next year. It doesn’t need more features than The Sims—after all, The Sims has been around for over a decade. InZoi just needs to refine existing features, adding more depth and layers, then gradually introduce DLCs, eventually becoming a masterpiece for the ages.Psycat_ThumbsUp

Yess I agree on the platform part, also being able to lower them as well. I want to create a sunken living room and I can’t cause the platforms don’t go lower than floor level. Also you can use the alt key for placing plants wherever on shelves. I also would like to see tablecloths / table runners, loft beds, indoor waterfalls ( both big ones and tabletop ones) along with a ton of other stuff lol

For realism, I suggest ghosts only can be interacted/seen by Zoi who can see ghosts. Maybe if we are playing as ghost we can make them see us, or Zoi needed to go through some special requirement to unlock the ability.

I don't prefer to see everyone in the town just normally chatting with ghosts, that's unnatural.

I’m seriously so happy we’re getting more fx effects in this update since it was something I used to have mods for in the sims 4 so I’m amazed and glad it’s in base game and the fact that we’re getting 6 new ones in just one update!
I’d love to see the build mode 3d printer made functional ( could be a hobby) and for the Photo Booth if we could have 2 zois go in at a time and actually get the photo strips from them so we can put them on the walls or desks/tables

I have found a workaround for sunken rooms! IRC, add a square preset room onto a lot (preset meaning just a blank room from build menu, not something off canvas or anything). Lift the floor in the room to a higher height. Make the platform larger. Now delete the walls. Add a platform (not a square room) in the middle - widen as youd please.

It's either that or reversed: start with a large heightened platform, make it larger, add room in middle

Know how psycat is our god? Why not expand it into a full blown religious system with its own "book of meow" with its own stories and lore, and the ability for our zois to pray at the temple to the cat gods, burn catnip incense and leave tuna offerings for good fortune. Maybe a special "honoring the cat overlods" holiday 😆

Dear Developers. Mr Kjun and the InZOI Team: Thank you for the Halloween updates. I really, really ...wish that whatever you wanna improved on please do not remove what works in the game and till now stuff that worked in the game which are removed have not been put back. You all can check what are being removed as I do not want to repeat myself. Thanks. I wish and hope that the current traits and value system that is in place right now will not be removed to replace something that is not inZOI identity. The traits and value system can be improved on but not compromise SMARTZOI system. The current traits and value system is awesome since the beginning cos it really tie/link with SMARTZoi system ( the best in game) to showcase Zois personalities and emotions. You have to play the game right in order to experienced it. Hence please do not change to be something that is less than the game's current triats and value system. Many of you who have this gameplay experiences like me since first release will understand what I mean. Have a blessed weekend, too, everyone. *Please also consider this very impt issue - how to save Zois Family (together with clothes presets, Entity ID, traits, values, memories, house - esp the lot size will change and what is being saved have to be rebuild) in order to prepare for each update. Its a huge thing for me and those who are playing rotationally to rebuild everything. Once again, thanks for listening, the consistent updates, and the generosity and the passion to make inZOI a wonderful and enjoyable game with each update💖 🥰

OMG TRICK-OR-TREAT. I SCREAMED WHEN I SAW THAT. I DIDN'T THINK WE WERE GOING TO HAVE A FULLY FUNCTIONAL TRICK OR TREAT EVENT UNTIL NEXT YEAR 😭❤. I mean, it was shown before in one of your update videos with candy basket as one of your interactable objects but I didn't think of it like that. But I hope trick-or-treating isnt locked just for kids and allow teens to do it too! So thank you so much for your hardwork! The first life simulation to have trick-or-treating ever!

But I'm not sure if its a manual event where we have to place down candy bowls or when it hits a specific time, npcs around the city will automatically have filled candy bowls. Other than that, I'm so excited for the October update! And funerals had such a great upgrade from the last video. I love the consolation animation, and maybe (funeral money ?). It added a touch of realism to funerals.

For Halloween, we can have urban legends that circulate around. It can grow in stages:

  1. The talking stage

We can spread the urban legend or pass by zois talk about it (either through thought bubbles, smart zoi inner thoughts, or pop ups). Or if we utilize bubbly it can spread on there too.

For example:

“Locals are talking about a disembodied voice in Nuri temple after 9 PM…”

  1. Investigation Stage
    We can choose to investigate or ignore it.
    Visiting the rumors at stated times triggers the event. When we get there, lights can flicker, and the zois feeling sudden chills. That's the first sign of bringing the legend to life.

The more we visit these rumors/urban legends, it stacks up.

  1. Manifestation Stage

If enough zois believe in the legend (tracked by how many zois mention/visit it), the legend becomes real. Then a rare event triggers: the entity actually manifests.You can either confront it, appease it, or befriend it— each outcomes vary for replayability.
Maybe it can even uncover hidden quests like the disembodied voice is a child zoi where you can help them find their lost candy bucket.

Even though I'm not really into Halloween myself pretty cool update for a base game patch more than enough to create a full Halloween experience. Its nice that graveyards have been made base game even if just minimal content like mourning the dead its something that can be expanded on later in future expansions which is great for those who play supernatural so many possibilities once the base game is complete.

Girl sameee. I honestly didn’t think we’d get it either for a few reasons.
A) early on he said they only had a month to work on it.
B) I figured since he said there wouldn’t be much Halloween content, I wasn’t expecting it
C) I figured they would focus more on the other features that are getting updated rather than the Halloween side
But when I thought back to the video where we saw the candy basket and the metal container with candy both being depleted I was like omg wait a sec we’re actually gonna get it!!!!
I’m extremely happy about it and I can’t wait to get my hands on everything
I also suggested in the forums to have teens trick or treat as well and even have Halloween parties for adults. Also something I think would be really neat since they showed the graves with moss On them if flowers grew on top
Another thing too, idk of Nyx ( the black cat) is supposed to be like the grim reaper of the game but if not it would be adorable to see that implemented, could even help zois who want to pass or punish bad zois

This will work best for elderly Zoi since it is very hard as a player to tell when an elderly zoi will die, if your zoi is being followed by a black cat as a player it gives you time to prepare and adds to the lore of the world! 😄🐈‍⬛️

This would work best for elderly zoi and maybe you as a player can only see the cat when thag Zoi is selected. Maybe the cat appears 3 days before an elderly Zoi is due to die?

I'm worried about changing the traits system and how my existing characters will be changed by it.

Furniture Refurbishing

In case you didn't see my other post about it, please change the feature some.

  1. slow the rate of wear & tear. It happens way too fast

  2. Make it possible to refurbish worn out furniture by simply clicking on it and select refubish or replace. This is required because all my builds have items placed off-grid and some players would struggle or not be able to replace the items and have them in the right place. I will not upload any more things players might struggle with until one-click replacement is possible.

  3. Add on option or cheat to disable the feature entirely. I don't want to deal with it. If we can completely disable utility bills with a cheat, surely you can provide a cheat code to relieve us of the feature. I find it annoying and it stops me from sharing builds. I can't be the only one who HATES the feature.

I'm sure there's a reason you added it but please make these changes for players who want nothing to do with it.

Every update takes the game a little further, thank you for your hard work. One month and three weeks is really short, and yet you've done it. I'm also looking forward to the funerals; that's important real-life content that simply belongs in a life simulation and shouldn't be integrated behind a paywall years later cough.

That's a cool idea, but the question is, how do you implement it? You could do that with seniors who are slowly approaching their final days, but younger Zoi are more likely to die from illness or accidents (or starve because the game put the baby crib in front of the refrigerator and the player switched to another family without noticing). Or you could give Zoi an invisible status, which increases the probability of dying from random events. If this probability is higher on average, the Zoi will be pursued by death (a black cat). However, the cat shouldn't be there all the time; it should appear every now and then. That would be an interesting feature, but probably not as easy to implement as it seems.

Another post I made that could have been missed is about mods on Canvas and the copious loading screen displays and pop-ups. The Canvas screen when we click on the computer on the main menu is almost always gross because of hyper-s-xual mods.

MODS

It's almost impossible to find mod-free content on Canvas. It's problematic for several reasons, but finding new content I want is almost impossible. I don't want any mods in my game because they cause so many issues.

  1. Please mark all uploads that contain modded content (not custom textures, but everything made with mod tools)

  2. Put mod content in its own category/categories.

  3. Never feature modded content in the main rankings. They should have a separate rankings section.

The designers on the inZOI team deserve the most recognition for the incredible CAZ and Build Mode assets for us to use and customize. Icon_Heart

Mod creators and popular mods deserve recognition as well, but please separate these. 🙏

A zoi created with only official content doesn't have the same chance to be discovered among all the modded content. That hurts the original creator and players like myself (who are seeking mod-free content).

People who want to find modded assets would benefit from having a dedicated section to find what they want. People who are seeking mods have requested that mods used in a Canvas creation should download the mods with the item they want. Not all creators list mods, and it would be a quality of life improvement to Canvas for them. I support that.

Adding aliens would delight me! I have an alien avatar I use on gaming platforms.

I would love to play her in an inZOI game. She has blue skin, slightly pointed ears, completely black eyes and no hair, but she has very human features aside from these things.

Alien abduction and all that might not fit the dev team's vision for inZOI, but I would really like to play with alien assets in CAZ at least. Then I could make my alien zoi at least and pretend.

** Keyboard Hotkeys**

I think, guys, we should start by utilizing the control scheme that’s already implemented in inZOI for gamepads, since further ** Keyboard Hotkey** improvements can be developed in parallel with gamepad optimization, which will essentially become the foundation for the next wave of PS5 sales.
Let’s break it down using the Xbox Controller in the current v0.30 build:
(A) – Scene Target Actions: the active object is outlined, but it’s better to keep just the filled circle. In menus,** (A) = UI Target Select**: opens sub-menus and confirms the final action. (E equivalent?)
(B) – Cancel Action: cancels the last action. In menus, (B) = Close Menu. (Q equivalent?)
[LB] - Interaction Target: cycles through Targets if multiple objects are in range. Filled circle = active, hollow = inactive. (Z / X equivalent?)
Press (L)-Stick – Personal Actions / self-menu: super useful when the character is off-screen or hard to select (see screenshot). Quick access to “Go Home”. “Mount” can be skipped for now, since parking will return. (Ctrl equivalent?)
(Y+) [LT]/[RT] – Transition to Zoi: more intuitive, as the triggers switch forward/backward. Depends on player preference, but maybe ** [ / ]** could be an alternative instead of spacebar?
(X)+(Y) – Hide/Show UI: great option, not sure if it’s available on keyboard.
Press (R)-Stick = Tab: also helps locate the active Zoi on gamepad (already assigned - F equivalent).

Assigned hotkeys: to open Relationship panel - R, Toggle Autonomy - T, Build Mode - I, Zoi Card - O, Smarphone - P, Focus Camera – F, Map (Edit City) - M.

I really want a Nordic or (preferably) a Finnish town/city. There could be heavy snowstorms.

Aside from Cities: Skylines which is developed in my city, this region isn't represented in much content at all, let alone a life simulation game.

We have a gorgeous environment with nature incorporated into city spaces so everyone can enjoy the forests. The architecture is unique and there's almost one sauna per person here. 😂 But inZOI would benefit from saunas in the home! ❤️

There's no setting within city management or the game settings (not even the Psycat guide) that says anything about furniture refurbishing.

Right now, it's a seriously annoying feature that I hate and can't get rid of. It makes me not want to play when my dream house mansion looks like a rundown dump after about 10 days.

I can't upload my best build because people won't be able to replace the furniture when it wears down—which I don't think should be a thing in this game! Why do painting frames turn to junk? If someone downloads my creation that has custom artwork on the walls, they probably can't easily replace the art. They have to find the right frame, find the texture used for the art, make sure the size and position are all set right, etc.

Every single thing I have put into my builds that isn't structural will turn to junk and look horrible.

You probably didn't mean to reply to me. I went into the game hoping there was something I missed, and now I'm just more upset about this stupid feature making me not want to play. If I want to roleplay that "everylthing is old junk" then I want to make the city look completely run down again!

But no, the dev team took away the run-down city appearance just to saddle us with this god-awful furniture refurbishing junk! 💩

I've posted on the official forum about a few things (I'm sure I replied on the Canvas and mods topic), but I don't know if they even check the forums.

I made a post there wishing that the dev team would emphasize their official forum more—since it's their official forum and all.

Some people don't use Discord. Stuff like the developer diaries, replies to our comments, and brainstorming topics would be a lot better on the official forum—in my opinion. That way, more people can participate, and also, the inZOI team has complete control over their forum, rather than here on Discord (and other platforms that aren't their own creation).

Hey Kjun! What do you think about adding skincare as a new interaction for Zois? It could be a fun and realistic detail — like if a Zoi doesn’t take care of their skin, they might start breaking out or their complexion could gradually look less healthy. They could use face masks, or even visit a spa for professional treatments.

Also, it’d be amazing if Zois could apply makeup — either on themselves or others. Imagine them putting on lipstick or spritzing on perfume before a date! Little self-care touches like that would really deepen the immersion.

MUSIC PLAYER APP UI + CUSTOM MUSIC

Guys, I’ve been meaning to sketch out a Music Player App for the Smartphone UI and Build Mode, and something’s finally taking shape, inspired by the official MV inZOI Team style on YouTube.

(Since many of us have written about wanting to listen to and control music through Zoi’s earphones, and to upload custom music into the game.)

The App has 4 tabs:
Styles – standard music styles used in the audio systems
OST – background music from the lobby, Build Mode, etc.
Radio – playlists provided by the devs, either as their own selections or promos tied to collabs or updates, meant to set the mood
Custom (music/playlists) – user playlists and folders from Documents/inZOI/…
(tracks shown in the screenshots are from the inZOI collabs on X, so there’s no copyright issue)

Player controls include:
• Track cover, title, and artist
• Play/pause, previous/next, volume or seek (though people mostly wanted volume control)
«Paw» button: expands the player controls popup, showing the full playlist.

Smart Home / Stream button – to stream music from the active Zoi’s phone to all home devices, cars, and so on (by default, music plays in Zoi’s earphones – audible to the player, but will switch if someone else is listening to something else, or turn off the music)

*Might need some tweaks and a repost next time – who knows Doodle_Psycat_Stretch *

👻 To add a sense of progression to the game and make playing 'Ghost Play' multiple times worthwhile, you could introduce a way to revive and earn a rare item or power as a reward. For example, being able to see spirits while in human form or a storage chest or backpack with increased inventory capacity.

This would give players a reason to start a new playthrough in Inzoi and play through 'Ghost Play' to acquire that power or item. It would add a new layer of depth and replayability to the game.

I would also love a feature where zois visit other cities and time/age still progresses in other towns. And while out of town, Zois can still socialize with friends/family from home. I wish that feature was updated with the Cahaya update

  1. I would love it if the houses in the neighborhood were automatically decorated for each holiday.. (Ex: Pumpkins and Halloween decor in the yards of the neighbor’s/decorative houses, Christmas lights on the houses, the option to decorate fences and eaves with decorative banners)

  2. the Central Park in each world could hold special “Festival” events… Where Zoi’s could gather, purchase speciality foods/drinks and items, while having fun together as a community.

During Christmas, the Central Park could also display a huge Christmas Tree, ice skating rink and Toy / shopping stands to purchase gifts.

  1. The amusement park could also be decorated for Halloween and other holidays…. and have a “Pop-up” Haunted House for the Zoi’s to walk through (Similar to the Sims 3)..

Thank you so much Kjun for the great update. I would like to ask if possible, to please remove the games involvement in making big life decisions for the player. I play rotationally and to my surprise one of my families had a baby and when I went back to play them they had another baby. So now I have to check each of my families every time I play to see if they are pregnant, so I can use the remove pregnancy cheat, which defeats the purpose of rotational play. On the other hand the game needs more involvement in handling the needs of Zois when not played. I had multiple families who were hungry, dirty, etc. Hopefully something can be done about these issues. Thanks again for all of you guys hard work!

Hey Kjun! I was thinking — wouldn't it be cool if we could add custom music to the game? Maybe add a "Custom Music Station" option to the stereo system where we can import our own favorite songs and listen to them in-game. That would be such an awesome feature and really let us personalize the vibe while playing!

Not everyone thinks that furniture gets longer and more worn out over time. That's your idea. Remove this feature and the game lacks authenticity and immersion. In real life, does furniture always stay as good as new? In the keyboard, M, city settings, there is a sliding change in frequency occurring.Alternatively, for players who don't like challenges, they can add an option separately in the game settings to disable the furniture damage option.

Can we have seasonal events? for example in Autumn having a spooky festival and maybe a haunted maze and group activities Zois can do like play games and eat seasonal foods. I would love seeing seasonal events like that for each season, besides option to use city edit to decorate the city for the seasonal holidays. In winter there can be a winter festival, etc.

That's me! Its better to have it as a toggle option than taking it away from the players that like being surprised, have drama, and see zois breathe with life on their own. I'm a mix of control/observe and taking that away from me will ruin my gameplay style.

I know people hate bringing up the sims but that's the closest thing for comparison. So maybe by default zois won't make decisions on their own (what they requested) and then the toggle option is zois having story progression/high autonomy or having the ability to choose which families can.

Since we’ll be getting the option to own businesses in December I was wondering if we’ll maybe get more options for foods? So for those that want to open up restaurants, they’ll have plenty of options. I’d also like to have more seafood added for us to go fishing for, like crabs, lobster, clams, oysters, shrimp, mussels, etc. I hope we get a plenty of dessert options from various places as I’d love to open a bakery/ chocolate shop 🤩
I also saw someone made a mod for 3d letters so if we got that to make signs for our shops that would be nice too!

We’re not hating, it’s just that there’s little point in creating direct competition/clash with a “living” giant, especially knowing that EA is preparing Project X (for now kind of next-gen Sims 4.5 with a large open world, subway, way more realistic PBR rendering, etc.) for late 2026. Of course, EA won’t miss the chance to borrow good ideas from inZOI, but they also have 10-20x times stronger audience retention (100k of players don’t want to lose their legacies) and nostalgia. That’s why greater uniqueness in inZOI will give it more space for creative independence and long-term survival, especially since many other games, media and RL offer better life sim references than sims. just marketing and analytics.

Comparison is fine and even useful when it comes to things that are productive. It's very normal to compare games within the same genre, and unfortunately that franchise is the only one atm (not for long thankfully!).
The important thing is that comparison is productive. For example "I love how characters react to [situation] in [game], I'd love to see something similar in InZOI" is productive, but "InZOI is missing so many features compared to [game that's been out a decade], it's unacceptable! Why aren't they in the game yet??" is not, because comparing a game less than a year old in early access to one that's been out a decade is not a fair comparison.

Of course we don't want a game that is exactly the same, but using other games as reference points and choosing to take or leave certain parts of them is how new unique art is made. I'm sure the devs understand this as well so I wouldn't worry too much. They will choose what parts are good for InZOI and what are not nodnod

I’d be genuinely glad if a strict filter were in place, but in v0.30, there’s just too much direct borrowing, and audience retention is far too low (players drop off quickly). In inZOI, the player curve looks like 89k → 2k → 10k → 1k, while in Sims it’s more like 50k → 30k → 40k.
That’s why I believe creating fewer systems, but original ones and designed for long-term retention, is more productive. inZOI marketed itself as a genre hybrid, and 1.3M people wanted to try it in the first week – that’s an incredible signal. Not every well-known franchise hits numbers like that. But for the free DLC, the numbers dropped more than tenfold…
inZOI needs another 1M players for the PS5 release, and again for the full launch. I believe main task is how to make the game interesting to millions. What’s the point of slicing up the same pie, so it’s actually better when sims references make up just 1/5, and the rest comes from other pies of massive audience.

It's sad that you got some negative reactions. I think a lot of us (me included!) use these threads to express overall wishes for the game.

I try to be specific about what I think we need right now (my posts about Canvas screens and pop-ups, separating mods and mod-free content on Canvas so it's easier to find mod-free content, and fixing the awful furniture refurbishing nightmare), but even I followed a tangent that would be for the future only (the idea of adding aliens).

So I think the original suggestion of skincare wasn't suggesting to add that right now, but rather, to consider adding that someday.

The inZOI team is so amazing. Even in Early Access, few dev teams are as communicative with the players! So, it's little wonder that we suggest our wishes for the future sometimes, too, because we actually have a chance for our ideas to be heard by this team!

BUILD MODE

This is really important. I've left feedback in the general build mode feedback thread, but I don't know if it'll ever get noticed, so I thought I should add it here. This is a simple, small thing, I think.

Please restore the ceiling grid display in Build Mode! It really helps with placing lights, and now it's a real pain to line them up sometimes. I don't know why you took it away (possibly a mistake?), but please, please, please restore it ASAP!!

I asked for a cheat or option, like there is for utility bills. If you see my earlier post that person replied to it's clear. In the post you replied to, I said "I cant get rid of it." I also said "which I don't think should be a thing in this game" in a sentence about needing to replace items from Build Mode. That's why I mentioned painting frames next.

Here's a link to what I originally said about the feature. When it seemed someone had a solution for me, I jumped into game to check and was just that much more disappointed.

  1. slow the rate of wear & tear. It happens way too fast

  2. Make it possible to refurbish worn out furniture by simply clicking on it and select refubish or replace. This is required because all my builds have items placed off-grid and some players would struggle or not be able to replace the items and have them in the right place. I will not upload any more things players might struggle with until one-click replacement is possible.

  3. Add on option or cheat to disable the feature entirely. I don't want to deal with it. If we can completely disable utility bills with a cheat, surely you can provide a cheat code to relieve us of the feature. I find it annoying and it stops me from sharing builds. I can't be the only one who HATES the feature.

I'm sure there's a reason you added it but please make these changes for players who want nothing to do with it.

Huh??? When did i ever say "i expect ppl to be like me" i only said that if the furniture getting dirty was upsetting they should implement a toggle to have the option to take it off. I was trying to say that we shouldn't get rid of that feature completely. And youve stated thhat there already is an option to toggle it off. ✨ Another important request — please consider adding Hotkey Customization and the ability to control the camera movement with WASD or arrow keys in the upcoming October update.
Since InZoi is a life simulation game, this kind of camera control feels natural for us. As players who have been in The Sims community for over 25 years, we’re used to moving the camera with WASD or arrow keys instead of only relying on the mouse.
It would mean a lot to have this option in InZoi, especially with the October update.

Yep, I just demonstrated how inZOI already handles direct gamepad control. As soon as you plug in a gamepad, the game feels immersive, whereas with keyboard and mouse, it’s nowhere near that – just WASD and point-click. That’s why I liked Moody’s original hook.

Since simply binding gamepad button to keyboard key isn’t so expensive, I suggested that kind of compromise.

For example, in Persona 5, you can perform the same actions with just a mouse, only a keyboard, or only a gamepad. Even simultaneously.

I am really excited about the October update—especially all the Halloween content.
I hope that the next update really focuses on life stages and the Zois themselves, as I feel that is where the game lacks.
More interactions between family members (especially with parents and their kids).
Interactions between children (playing tag, hide and seek, cops and robbers, rock paper scissors, playing house, and showing off)
Interactions where children can play hopscotch, hula hoop, jump rope, and play catch together.
I would love to see kids and up being able to skateboard, ride bikes, and ride scooters together.
I would love it if all Zois could hold hands while taking a walk, whether this be as a couple or holding a child’s hand while they walk to the park.
Some game-play objects that I hope will someday be added:
Trampolines, wagons, tri-cycles, bikes, skateboards, strollers, toyboxes, dress-up boxes, dollhouses, sandboxes, building sandcastles at the beach, baby swings, baby bouncers, baby playmat, cribs, changing tables, and toddler beds.
There is so much more that I could add but I really want Zois to feel unique and have unique interactions that reflect their personality. I want deep gameplay and genetics that you can see throughout generations.
I can’t wait to see what this game looks like in the next few months.

Genetics System Feedback

I wanted to add some suggestion and ideas for more control and complex but ALSO unique system for Inzoi offspring.

One is based on the two pics below from GTA. Where you can essentially control how much resemblance a child looks more like the mother and father. Including skintone how much more or less the child takes after the parents on a gradient scale of their two skintones. So this idea would fit in the context of creating a child with just a mom and dad, versus other parts of the genetic system, where children can look like grandparents and great-grand parents (hoping).

The second idea I was wanting to suggest for genetics is having extended family titles such as cousins, nieces, nephews, half brother and half sister (if they have the same mother but different dads), brother in law, sister in law. Or maybe we can just add our own family ties title ourselves.

Can we please have underage Zois move or being adopted into another household when their parents or caregivers die instead of disappearing? I love playing with elder Zois and having them have miracle babies but they always die before the children become teenagers and the children just disappear along with them. Also it would be great to extend back middle age and elder life stages to the length it used to be six months ago. Some people like myself enjoy playing with middle age and elder Zois and now they died too quickly 😢 Thank you.

To add to @modest eagle's Idea/suggestion. You guys already have an adoption mechanics with some pre-generated kids in there. You could simply move the orphaned newborns/toddlers/child/adolescent into that pool of available children to adopt, they would also keep their names (unless we change them, which is a choice).

Since the mechanic is already in-game, this should not take too much of your manpower resources to make it happen. It would be really fun as the issue of vanishing families happen to players sure, but can happen to any family currently generated on the map as well.

I endorse this idea, Mr. Kjun.

My thing is I can't upload my best creation because a lot of furniture is placed off the grid and some overlap (like coffee table in the space around the corner and L-shaped sofa.) A lot of people would not be able to manually replace any of the items and keep them where they are.

It's meant to be a Dream House mansion. Furniture that isn't touched/used like paintings, overhead cabinets, etc. shouldn't wear out.

None of my furniture looks like in the game and we have cats. Almost 20 years later and all we have to update were 2 bedside tables.

A toggle in the game was misinformation that the person in question got in a knot over. No such toggle exits, and one is needed, along with the other things we need for this feature.

People downloading homes don't necessarily know building tricks. I want anyone who likes the house to be able to click on damaged items and replace them that way. That's the most important of the fixes I requested.

Without it, I won't share something that might frustrate and upset downloaders. Without it, it kills my immersion and makes me not want to play. I was playing almost every day since it came out but this is too much.

Things never touched or used don't wear out in 2 weeks.

This is so sad to hear. 😭 I had an idea for a Foster Parenting system, but it's probably too detailed to implement anytime soon.

I hope they can make it so there's a screen that says the child(ren) were adopted by a distant relative, at the very least.

I would love a Foster Parenting system where our zois can apply to become a foster family if they have consistently high karma and a Loving family bond. They would have to maintain their good karma and strong family relationship to have a foster child stay with them, or the child(ren) would be moved to another home.

If the parents apply and become foster parents, they could get a sum of money for the care of the foster children, and a small compensation for the extra work of helping the young person, while also knowing they might leave their care soon. Perhaps the child goes to their family again. If they get very attached to the foster child but don't take good enough care of their karma and family, they would lose the foster child and feel very sad, disappointed in themselves, etc. If the child returns to their family, the foster parents might feel sad and happy at the same time.

I don't think any player zoi's should go into foster care without the player's choice. Unless the dev team decides there would be some extreme circumstances where a player's zoi child would go into foster care, then they might have some neat ideas. Such as a quote I read where Kjun had said poor relationships with the family could have negative outcomes like the child runs away from home. If they implement that, it would fit into their vision, and perhaps they'd have good resolutions for family restoration.

I'm just hoping that one day, our zois can experience the highs and lows, joys and fears, of being foster parents. That would make it possible for a child left behind by death to move into an NPC family so the player can continue to play their child zoi. 💖

I forgot to add that if Foster Parenting were to become possible, that a foster family could get an option to adopt the child if the child is with them for a long time. That would be awesome. The foster parent would no longer receive any funding, but would be a permanent adopted parent with a family relationship and everything.

Yesss, I suggested this in the forums in September ( the rollerblading/ rollerskating) and everything else you mentioned in a separate post for Christmas 😅. I also suggested that when a zoi learns how to roller skate well they should be able to then teach other zois how to do it too, like parent to child or teens to children. I think it would add some realism and would be a cute interaction ( and hopefully one that could be a group activity once you have multiple zois that can do it)

I would love a deeper jail system too! From beign able to get notification as a family member to asking for bail money and the such! Right now, if your zoi goes to jail and while they are there, it seems like there is not much effect on the family members, but I would love to see a worried moodlet or similar. So please Kjun, we want the system jail to go even further!!!

Agree with this! I'd also like to see some sort of detention report you could check as a player, where the name of your zoi, type of crime and days if jailtime were mentioned. My zoi was on his way to Nana Goreng to grab food, boy did nothing wrong that particular day, and suddenly I have a "Beg for forgiveness" interaction I cannot cancel. I blink and my zoi's is in jail but I don't know what he might have done 😂

He committed online scam, and is in the criminal career, and two days ago he stole from a bag on the streets, so I am really unsure what he's in for 😂😂 Jailtime here we go!

since people are asking for skateboarding, I think direct control also should be a core part of the mechanic. Even though games with it tend to be tricky to handle, a few one-button automatic actions like Jump, Grind, Grab, Spin, Flip on ramps, and collision physics (which the devs are currently working on) could be added.
As for point-and-click setups, it could just be “go here” plus a trick panel. The difficulty of the tricks will most likely need to be tied to skill levels.

A typical city is packed with curbs, rails, and ledges, but in inZOI, the main trick action could be centered around a skate park.

I vote yes to this! I do agree both with the direct control and the point and click set ups. Also, that tricks' difficulty might be tied to skill, opens the opportunity for very interesting gameplay, for people that enjoy learning combos and perfecting skills more directly. Everytime I see the skateboard park in Blissbay, it feels like such a missed opportunity (or a hint at a future update? 😉 ).

Probably, yeah… I was thinking they’d include temperaments (Pavlov’s NS model) alongside the Enneagram, with that, they could’ve built a unique system like in Disco Elysium.
But apparently players and partners told them to pull directly from Sims 4 (since that already works), and they lifted the traits accordingly.
Though Kjun did note that players were asking for deeper underlying motivational systems like the Enneagram, Big Five, etc., so I assumed that’s what they were drawing inspiration from psychological books, not from sims.

same goes for emotions, they’re just like in Sims 4. I tried to tune this scheme for multiplicity, not like emotional swings, rather like real life: more stable, layered with residuals.
So sleep could feel anxious because of strong emotions before bed or sensory overload, or nervousness could accompany flirting, or…
I mean, even in Persona 5 I saw a character’s emotional state described as dual, conflicted and life sims still feel flat in comparison.

Just watched the Halloween video and I’m super excited to play. Would be nice to have an event for Xmas as well in the future. Winter, spring, summer and autumn updates would be nice as well. Give Zois something to do in those seasons. Like a festival for each on every Friday to Sunday. Build snowman ☃️ and so on. Snow ball fights. Graduation after school to young adult, prom dance, controllable pets. Supernatural beings, more party options like normal parties, bachelorette and bachelor parties. Absolutely love the funeral scene. Teen dates. Teen jobs. Bathing toddlers and babies and feeding them. Interacting with those items, we already have them in the game. Like the baby bath, changing crip and so on. I love playing families with pets. Dogs and horses is my favourite. More farming things would also be nice in future updates. Like milking cows and get eggs from chickens. Buy all kind of groceries that you can put in a pantry with numbers showing how many is left and in fridge. Buy ingredients for your dishes or grow them. This is what I would all like to see in the future. ☺️

Yeah, I read it, they added emotional gradations (around 41, I think), but still, if emotions lie on different axes, it ends up being just one emotion at a time. And if they keep adding like that, it’ll hit 200.

I’ve seen systems where multiple conflicting emotions coexist in a single amorphous cloud, and that’s interesting.

In inZOI, even if three emotions have the same point value, it still picks just one.
But in real life, you’d feel all three in roughly equal measure, even if it’s Happiness and Anger at the same time.

In inZOI, Asleep wipes out all emotions (the bars drop to zero super fast and there’s no “restless sleep” option), but in real life, if you were Dazzled, you wouldn’t be able to sleep till morning. In inZOI, Flirty overrides Nervous, but in real life, you’d feel a wild mix, fumbling, dropping things from sheer anxiety.

I’m not saying it’s bad, I’m saying add nuances like that to inZOI and it’s a 10/10 – best simulation of human states ever.

I agree here: I do not think it is inherently bad, I just think it is not enough. As you point out, in real life there are very few emotions that take over all the others, and those are the very strong type of emotions or emotional responses. Coexistence of emotions (done right) would add depth to the gameplay, and take making zois and playing with them to a whole other level. I think for the sake of immersion and to do it better than other life sims,** adding more complexity in emotions rather than just more emotions that override each other so to speak, would be a great decision! **

I also want a clearer (Inner) Thoughts system (built on sLM / LLM) ideally as an expandable part of the HUD. The inZOI team puts a lot of work into icons/text descriptions, but they show up either as cause of emotion, or as floating text above the head, or as a bubble, or as a SmartZOI pop-up window. Too much visual clutter, if you’re aiming for clarity and minimalism.

What I want is for my thoughts to be on the HUD/UI panel and not to see on-screen / NPC thoughts (except optionally via Chatterbox, if I’ve actually listened to what they’re saying).

Even if I wanted to know them – I’m not a mind reader. The only thing I can do is assume what might be going on with that person. That’s why you could use phrases like: ”I feel like..”, “I (can) sense a… (strong bond of…)”, “It seems like she’s”, “He seems rather…”, “He’s doesn’t seem like”.

At the same time, chatterboxes, whispers, murmurs – those are things we’re actually able to overhear: ”Those guys are getting expelled!”

yes, at the very least, if sleep took into account the last dominant strong emotion instead of wiping it (like in the first scr), just a couple hours in (Dazzled disappeared in the first hour of sleep, how?), that’s why I wanted a cloud that reflects the full emotional set, not one that suppresses it.

In scr 2, I showed how this could be accounted for as “overstimulated sleep” or “restless”, depending on the emotional blend.

I like what you have here! I would like this better. That way we could better understand which events are connected to multiple emptions.

Might have to make it a mod..if it doesnt get considered. It felt like the old the old system of the moods work that way because we had the colors representing how they were feeling across different spectrums of certain emotions, but now you only see the main one in these other ones that doesn't really give a lot of indication I feel because like you said they're just feeling one state of emotion at a time and it's not multiple happening at once.

For sleeping positions suggestions: sleeping on either side, sleeping on your stomach. Cuddling with partner. When a zoi feels nervous, excited or restless( not due to any specific emotion, just sometimes people can’t sleep) when going to bed I think it would make the most sense for them to get less sleep since most people have trouble sleeping well when feeling that way. And when a zoi is nervous maybe having them switch from side to side due to not being able to sleep well. And if partners are angry with each other, one zoi can send the other to sleep on the couch or the floor😆. It would be neat to have some zois sleep completely under the blanket as well ( I sleep that way lol).
I also don’t think it should be a constant switching between positions throughout the night either, since some people can stay in one position for the whole night. A nice touch too I think would be to have zois take melatonin or warm up some milk to help them sleep

Remind please next time if it’s too late now – we’ll rethread the line of thought, because everyone clearly knows what they want.

I also liked how emotions used to be displayed – small equaliser-like bars and a thin outline around the portrait.

Now it takes up much more space, but the background color coding on the portrait isn’t that intuitive. Simple colors are fine, but say you get a gradient of blue and lemon – that’s supposed to mean a blend of blue and lemon emotions? (but what emotion is lemon?). Or how am I supposed to tell by color whether it’s an amplified emotion or a new one, independent of the others?

In emotion clouds, the dominant emotions weighted by their proportion and intensity could blend their colours into a single composite cloud. Feeling Flirty and Nervous at the same time would produce a transition between pink and turquoise, while Asleep combined with Tranquil and Dazzled would produce a blend of deep blue, a trace of grass green, and pink. And that’s when the larger block would actually make sense.

And then there’s the duplication – a panel with large bars – but honestly, what difference do complex metrics make to the player if only one emotion is active?

Overall, the emotion interface feels excessive to me, but not so intuitive because of it.

The problem is, if it ends up resembling the intrusive status effects (like Ailments in EbN) players will likely ask for a toggle, just like they essentially demanded Maxis disable the entire expansion’s functionality.
There are already many dollhouse-like control zones, and adding another one risks breaking the balance of a casual game / adventure / storytelling and alienate part of the casual-exploration player base

I feel like if it’s added it should be realistic cause acne can be triggered just from having oily skin, a reaction to certain skincare brands,foods, medication and also people not properly taking care of their skin or simply beyond the time of puberty ( which sucks). They could make it so it only happens sometimes to certain zois, just a random trigger but also if they eat too much junk food, especially greasy food and sweets. It definitely can be a toggle for how much it happens/how many zois it affects/ and maybe the amount of acne too, all of which can be remedied by find the right skincare, eating less of certain foods or prescribed creams/ cleansers or even birth control( for those that don’t know, yes birth control can help with acne)

Yeah i think adding skincare to the game would be cool, but maybe without the skin breaking out or it should be something that can be toggled off 😭. But if Zoi’s do skincare it will give them a happy moodlet for example: “My skin feels softer” and it could also make zoi’s feel confident because they’re taking care of themselves.
That could be cool addition for skincare in the game without stripping away the fun for the players.

Yes, yes, yes! I’m also in favour of expanding the beauty industry, adding more venues like beauty salons, barbershops, boutiques, plus delivery of self-care and fragrance products via Pocket Market (maybe in your country, different brands also present their lines this way).
Even a scripted self-care and fitness event, a Health App with rings to set a healthy routine in one click, or a customizable event (prep for a date, wedding, or business meeting with a partner rating scales) – as optional but immersive gameplay elements, that’s incredibly cool!

I know that even guys who play these kinds of games really enjoy dating and impressing their partner(s) it’s a kind of dominance impulse 😄

I just saw the new cuddling interaction and I LOVE it!!

I need some help though:
I reallyyyy struggle with the 3 second animations, not sure why the devs do this? Like lean into it devs. This is something I thought the team was working on (length of interactions). I really think these should have more realistic interactions and timing. Watch TV show or movie while cuddling, have a long conversation while cuddling, lay on a blanket and cuddle (at beach or at park). I don’t know if it’s a rushing thing or what. Like a whole game of bowling is 3 seconds, same for pool.

Please take some time to make these longer and more realistic all around. Working out, talking, dancing, etc. It removes the immersion when you have to click the interaction 5 times.

I am very sad to have seen some videos from the influencer group that reveal the new personalities system. I understand it will delight a lot of players, and that' super cool.

I'm going to stop playing for a while. It's one thing to start a new game every update, but all my characters are dead on October 30th. 😭

I know it's quite foolish of me to have gotten attached to playing them. This is an Early Access game that's subject to change at any time and is not guaranteed to still appeal to me by the time it's finished and leaves Early Access.

But the truth is I was really having fun with those characters. I think they could've improved the existing personalities system rather than drift closer and closer to The Sims with every update.

However, I don't know how much control the inZOI team has over some of these things. As soon as the game sold so many copies and the daily player count went down, a lot of content creators called it proof that inZOI "was a failure." It's possible the publisher put pressure on the inZOI team to make the game run on older computers, add more systems like the Sims has so the game would have wider appeal to the massive Sims player base, etc.

I don't blame the inZOI team, whether it's Krafton or the feedback they receive that's causing them to go in this direction. It is what it is, and it was what it was.

Agree. Most animations needed to be infinite loop including the new cuddles animations. Every activities or interactions felt rushed because they are very short timed. Most interactions should be infinite until player cancels it or they needs becoming low. It's very important for inZOI because it have different day length setting, even up to 24 hours.

Oh, I checked it out. It’s kind of a mess. No idea why they broke a nearly functional Enneagram-like system just to slap on a direct sims copy, instead of expanding it through other widely used psychological models.

Temperaments, according to classic models, are: phlegmatic, choleric, sanguine, melancholic. According to Pavlov’s system, temperaments are defined by the nervous system’s properties – neural system strength, balance, and mobility.
The Enneagram isn’t about temperaments – it’s a motivational model. It’s what drives us: the urge to dominate, to mediate, or to pursue personal ambition. That system would’ve worked well with the original Big Five (OCEAN) or an inverted HEXACO.

There are many awesome things in this update, but I'm definitely saddened by the changes to personalities.

I'll eventually check out the update, but for now, I just lost the motivation to play at all. I will play around with CAZ a bit, but that's all for a while.

I'll be honest: I'd rather have personalities that actually feel distinct from each other, regardless of whether they're based on a particular psychological model, then 12 types that feel virtually identical to play. I think going with the Enneagram was a mistake to start with - the types aren't really 'personalities' as such at all, and all of them felt way too vague and too positive. I'm perfectly happy with the addition of traits as well, as long as we're not forced to use them. So overall I much prefer the new model.

What does seem a bit unfair is changing one type into another, which will presumably affect Zois which have already been created. I assumed they'd just leave or slightly modify the old ones, and add a bunch of new ones in the update. I can understand people being upset about that - though presumably it'll be possible to edit your old Zois and re-create their personality if you feel that it's changed too much.

Personally, I will try the update to see for myself how it feels. I am hoping it is not going to be meaningless and plain as in the sims, so far I feel like the devs have surprised me for the better so time will tell. I will give my frank opinion on this new personality system (that I believe will still be updated in the future) once I can try it out. We are all bound to be disappointed with some updates, pleased with others as it is a game in development, but I have faith the devs will change that which the majority ends up not liking. Let's see.

Old personality system is boring and bland. Every Zoi with the same trait are clones of each other. They responded to everything similarly. They will only randomly doing bad interactions for no reason, no context, idk whats in their mind because they don't have sub-traits that indicate what kind of person they are.

This. The previous system wasn't working well. I had introverts being out and making friends all day; kind-hearted and righteous people venting their anger at everything autonomously. I understand we all feel weary about traits because of the sims, but we don't know what is behind this trait system. It could be completely different from the sims for what we know- I for one welcome the change. Let's try it and if it's bad, if it doesn't work, then let's complain about its faults. But to just reject it without giving it a try it's not helping us or the developers.

Inzoi has done an incredible job so far, but it could stand out even more by embracing the harder sides of life. Life sims thrive on realism and conflict, yet most avoid the uncomfortable moments that make stories memorable. Imagine features like addictions, therapy, or detailed divorce and custody systems being built right into the game—no mods needed. Inzoi could go further with things like sudden financial loss, being evicted, sexually transmitted dieseases, workplace drama, natural disasters, pregancy difficulties, or moral choices that impact relationships and careers.

Players could face realistic setbacks: scams when shopping online, power outages during storms, social media scandals, false rumors, or even city-wide events like strikes or housing shortages. Different neighborhoods could have unique risks—crime in one, pollution in another, or strict social expectations in wealthier areas. These unpredictable experiences would make each world feel alive and personal.

Even newer games like Echoes of the Plum Grove gained major attention for its disease system, proving that struggle can make gameplay more immersive. If Inzoi embraced both the highs and lows of life—letting players build “good” or “bad” worlds—it could redefine what a life simulator truly means.

Additionally, thank you for bringing the "fart secretly" option back.

Exactly not only having a complex system of emotional states and we arent getting the full use from it. But they mentioned wanting to have more emotional expression, that would need to be continously worked on as well. We arent seeing it across the board in their daily activities, only when theyre idle (at least for me). Like if my zoi is upset or angry, they can be talking and still seem happy when they should have a neutral expression regardless of what's being talked about, or not. Or at least allow us to click on our active zoi and 'mask emotion' which gives a buffer to others they seem happy.

But we wont get these other interactions of others noticing they're upset, and that potentially effecting others around them. Until later I suppose with their own version of LBYs observable system.

Let’s not forget pretty much everything is a work in progress so personalities definitely aren’t set in stone and will be most likely be changed multiple times throughout EA so to purposely not update when you may have enjoyed every other feature of the update is just..? I mean what are you gonna do? Not update for say the next 5-6 months because of one feature not being what you want it to be? Miss out on every other thing feature that you may have actually been looking forward to because of that? Idk that’s not worth it me especially when I know these kinds of changes aren’t permanent.

I've seen other videos showing bits of the new ghost gameplay as well. I'm not that keen on playing as a ghost, but I have to say that these ones look deliciously creepy, so kudos to the InZoi team for that.

I don’t agree with everything you’ve written, but I really like the idea of having different neighborhood gameplay. It would be great to have a poorer neighborhood with more crime, where, if your Zoi is wealthier and walks there at night, there’s a higher chance of getting robbed. Some tense music could play when you enter a high-crime area at the wrong time of day, and fade away when you have moved away from that area.

It would also be nice to have a richer neighbourhood with high fences, VIP clubs, and exclusive features. If your Zoi isn’t wealthy enough, there could be certain places they can’t access. And of course, something in between, like what we have now.

Me? I play other games, the kind that, somehow, keep surprising me every time with completely fresh mechanics. I always think skeptically after years of clones, “Here comes another one that’ll feel the same,”, but no, it’s something completely different. I expected inZOI to take R&D seriously, every detail, every mechanic. So, I’m just watching, is its strategy a failure or does it actually work?

If, at launch, millions of players treat it like a super fresh must-have – then maybe that’s how it was meant to be. But if it doesn’t surpass its 1M early access peak – something’s off (that kind of drop hasn’t happened in the industry before.) It’s that simple. Sorry for the off-topic.

After watching some of the new gameplay update footage. These are just a few of my thoughts.

  • children having a static bag in hand for trick or treating until the Halloween holiday is over or they take their costume off.
  • Different trick or treat bag designs aside from the pumpkin bucket. Maybe a ghost head, Frankenstein head, a light bag, pillow case, etc.
  • It would be nice to be able to choose more than 2 traits in CAZ for zois

The Halloween/October update sounds great - looking forward to playing. Hopes for the future:

Life Stages: Currently, development of life stages before young adults seem very underdeveloped or non existent . It sounds like newborns/toddlers will be flushed out more in the near future. I would also like to see a clear separation of adolescents and teens - maybe teens 17-19 and adolescents 12-16. The current game has a lot of restrictions based on age. Older teens have the same restrictions as a 12 year old...no travel without adults, no driving or personal transportation... not sure why a teen is not allowed to use dj equipment or a young adult can not have a glass of wine (or maybe a teen that has a fake ID - if you want realism, this is as real as it gets, lol). It makes a big difference if you pause aging and spend significant time in each life stage. Depending on where you live irl, age restrictions can significantly vary. Maybe the restrictions in Dowan should be different than Bliss Bay?
Careers/Jobs: I have seen a lot of good suggestions for new jobs - would love to see more interactions, engagement, less rabbit holes, and part-time jobs. My personal favorites are bartender, dj, shop/business owner, k-pop idol. I hope the idol career is further developed - could be super fun... not sure why you can't debut even as a young adult. And again, more restrictions: most real life trainees start as teens, some as young as 12-14. I know irl this can be very demanding or abusive, but it would not have to be in the game.
Game play activities: I like the idea of roller/ice skating and skateboarding. I'm hoping the skateboarding park on the Bliss Bay beach is more than just decor. In fact, there are some interesting things you can see while taking a stroll on the beach that hopefully will be developed in the future: volleyball court, marina with docked boats (purchase boats in Bliss Bay?), jet skis, large stage under construction (idol/performer concerts?).

100% this. The game is way too restricted for Teens and Young Adult stages. These are the most played life stages in LifeSims and if you’re not playing with aging on, it just makes it boring to play after a while. It stifles story telling and creativity. Young Adults are age locked in University, and you can’t graduate without becoming an Adult. Teens can’t drive or work. That’s not realistic in my irl. I hope this changes in the future.

Funeral and Death, and General Feedback

  • Cars should stay parked where left
  • A way to eliminate cars from being loaded each time we want to go drive and just remain parked and we can hop in and go. - I like the speedometer a lot great job team!! 😃 Im interested to see what else is added for cars in the future.
  • For funerals itd be nice once greeted everyone can be called to sit and stay seated for funeral eulogy, silent prayer, and a song. When played in order.
  • I don't like all zois are cremated after death, it kind of defeats the purpose to have caskets. It would be great to have the option to cremate or place zoi in casket instead. So itd be a actual zoi that looks sleep or a closed casket that assigns the dead zois name to it.
  • I think not having a kiosk to get urns would be more immersive and just have a funeral director we could ask instead. The kiosk feels a bit cold even for a game lol.
  • Need a pre-funeral event option we can make, such as wakes where visitors come visit, bring food, and comfort mourners.
  • If zois got ran over itd be nice if police came to the person's home (if theres living relatives or roomates) to tell the news instead of just a phone text first, the phone text should come after that happens those are just my thoughts. After watching things more.

I just watched a video showing some 'playable ghost' gameplay and even though I'm not generally into supernatural stuff, it did look interesting. I like that you have limited time to achieve your goals as a ghost, before presumably moving on to the afterlife. However the ghosts really need different voices from normal Zois! Just making them a bit deeper and adding a slight echo effect would make a big difference.

Give me an achievement for being a menace at the wheel, because I can't count how many people I have crashed against, and how many of my zois I have killed while driving and went back in time to pretend nothing happened 😂 I think that deserves an achievement! I saw that the introvert personality trait said “doesn’t like to socialize and gets nervous around people”. I get that we introverted people get viewed like this a lot, but being a introvert doesn’t directly mean you hate to talk to people, there are introverted people who can talk an orange to an apple, who are loud and loves to socialize (mostly around people they know well). But after a while they’ll get drained and have to stay away from the world to charge up their social battery, Or they all of the sudden stop being loud in the middle of meetings or hangouts because they’re social battery is low and they feel drained 😅 i think “hating to socialize” would fit more with the “asocial” personality trait.. asocial people hate to connect with people haha. And it would be cool if the introvert personality trait would be more like “get’s drained after socializing too much and needs some time alone to charge up their social battery, is more quiet around zoi’s they don’t know” and zoi’s with this personality trait would feel “drained” due socializing too much, and after a session of alone time they would feel “energetic” and they would have the desire to talk to people. Zoi’s that are introverted will also be a bit more pulled back when they are around zoi’s they don’t know well, this will maybe give them the moodlet “nervous” or “observed” because they’re more listening and not talking too much. And after opening up to the unknown zoi’s, they will be more louder and feel more comfortable around them. This was just a thought that i had that would be good to add here since i’m an introvert myself. Hopefully others agree with me 😅

It's true that 'introversion' isn't the same thing as 'shyness', but I understand why they get treated as such because they often do go together (I say this as someone who scores very highly on both). And being shy doesn't necessarily mean you don't want to socialise, just that it's hard because you feel nervous/awkward... there's no perfect solution given how much these traits have to be simplified for gameplay purposes.

I agree and I would add that, while I understand where they are coming from,*** I would rename the "depressed" trait to "sensitive".*** Not only is depression not a personality trait, but also not very related to its description. So please devs, change depressed for sensitive or something else, I understand it might be a lost in translation situation but, it is not great, specially in the west.

@strong prawn A non-smiling trait could be something like "serious", or "stern". It could be good to make a more serious type of character. I hated when I tried to make a grumpy sim but they are just chatty and smiley like everyone else lol Maybe we should make a post in the forum with the traits we would like to see, after we check out how and if traits work!

I also agree with @mint wagon, depression is not a personality trait, it is an actual health problem (mental health but health anyway) and the description of the trait doesn't match what depression actually is. When I saw it I felt as if someone had taken for example "Diabetic" and made it a personality trait, it makes not much sense. "Sensitive" is a pretty good alternative!! I like it and it fits the description they gave to the trait very accurately in my opinion!

@cosmic drum Absolutely agree! Introversion and extroversion happen at brain level. Being introverted just means your brain uses a different hormone to make brain cell synapsis, and this hormone makes it so that the brain synapsis take longer to take information in, which is why introverts typically are better are writing communication than spoken communication, or bad at multitasking for example, and the reason why we get tired from social interactions and high adrenaline activities or jobs, and get recharged with low adrenaline activities like reading or being alone. Introverts can be social, can be shy, can hate people, can love people; they will just naturally spend more time alone because otherwise their brains will get fried haha I wished they changed it to something like "reserved" or "loner" and if they want to make an introvert trait, just make it so that the introvert will be more inclined to do solo activities and spend time at home

The only issue I have with 'sensitive' is that it can also mean 'considerate of other people's feelings', which could be confusing. The current 'introvert' trait is more accurately described as 'shy' or 'reserved' as you say, but I think people will still understand what it means, as those terms are often used interchangeably.

The original inZOI system in 2024 looked like this.

It was a dynamic Big Five (OCEAN) system, where each life stage unlocked a new group of temperaments: starting from birth with a gradients of Openness (Threadmill, Adventurous, Stubborn, Emotional, Realistic, Idea bank?), then in childhood the gradients of Conscientiousness (Lazy, Leisurely, Achivement-oriented, Impromptu, Principled), Extroversion (Shy with strangers, Bashful, Contemplative, Sociable, Own Way, Infinite Energy) became available, and by adulthood – Agreeableness (Modest, and + 5 temperaments - no info) and Neuroticism (no info). Five temperaments, unlocked over the course of life, in total.

That’s exactly what I proposed – these in BigFive are the true temperaments. What remains of the Enneagram are motivations. Temperaments govern motivations. Motivations have relaxed and stress forms (wings). Here, temperaments are presented as gradients shaped by innate disposition, parenting/upbringing, and immature/mature life experience (HEXACO also introduced a new axis: Honesty-Humility). By combining these native systems, you get over 20,000 personality variants (and the third one hasn’t even been integrated yet.)

Tomorrow, we’ll finally be releasing the October update! Why do I feel so nervous about it? 😅
I’ve been reading through your comments this week — there’s been so much excitement about the Halloween content: ghost gameplay, funerals, Halloween-themed foods, and more. I feel a bit of pressure, haha. There were also many creative ideas for the Halloween event, but since development for this update has already closed, we couldn’t include them this time. That made me realize — from December’s update onward, we need to share our plans earlier so we can reflect your feedback in time. 👻

Halloween Feedback
Many of you requested options to turn off the ghost feature or send ghosts to the afterlife. Some even suggested RPG-style ghost mechanics or special ghost-related professions. There were also great event ideas like scarecrow contests, pumpkin carving, face painting, baking competitions, treasure hunts, and dance parties.
Others hoped to see citywide decorations for big holidays like Halloween or Christmas, with NPCs wearing themed outfits. The team worked on this but couldn’t perfect it in time. Still, we’ll keep improving it each year by adding new seasonal ideas.

Gameplay Depth & Emotions
Players want deeper emotional expression and relationships in simulation gameplay — for instance, characters’ postures and facial expressions changing with mood, or natural gestures between close friends. Some also asked for personality-driven behavior differences, which we’ll add in December.
We also received many ideas for multi-layered emotional states, inner thought systems, and complex social interactions. To make the game more immersive, we plan to add features like playful confessions, borrowing money, gossiping, fake breakups, stealing money, and investment scams in the next update.
There were also requests for expanded beauty-related features such as skincare, makeup, salons, and barbershops — we’ll consider these for future updates.

UI & Control Convenience
Suggestions included improving the clothing purchase system, adding gamepad and keyboard direct controls, and allowing custom key bindings. We’re currently reviewing key customization since it would benefit the most players.
You also asked for WASD camera movement, more realistic animation timings, and an in-game music player for custom tracks. Among these, key customization will be our top development priority.

Life & Social Systems
Some players wanted children to travel alone or visit other cities, as well as adoption and foster care systems, and inheritance or childcare options after death. Others suggested adding crime, mental health, and alien abductions for a more dramatic life simulation.
We’re currently developing the crime system — thieves and police are already in progress, though still basic. We’ll continue improving and expanding this. Maybe we’ll even try alien abductions someday. 😄

Build Mode Improvements
Many reported issues with furniture wear and tear, asking for repair systems, durability rate adjustments, and a toggle to disable decay. We’ll address this next week, making clothing and furniture wear slower.

Personality & Family Relationships
Some players felt the personality system was too simple or unrealistic. Opinions were split on introducing a new trait system, but overall, people wanted deeper individuality.
We’ve refined the temperament behaviors and added new traits for more variety. It’s still a work in progress, but we’ll keep improving with the team.
There were also ideas for gene system upgrades, extended family relations, and additional kinship titles — we’ll tackle these when we improve the family tree system.

Other Suggestions
Requests included sports and leisure activities like skateboarding, roller skating, and surfing — some of these will appear in December (they were partially developed but not finished in time).
There was also interest in expanding career options like bartender, DJ, idol, or firefighter — but unfortunately, this won’t make it into December. Still, we’re designing a new shop system that both players and developers can expand easily. Once that’s complete, we’ll continue developing the new job system from there.
We also plan to address non-playable buildings and performance optimization in upcoming updates, and we’d love to share those plans soon to gather your feedback.

Additional Development Plans
We’ll also improve mod management, separating official content from mods, and enhancing content search without mods — this is planned for December.
We’ll be adding one new holiday and expanding city decorations for seasonal events.

Thank you all so much for your ideas and continued support. As the French author Charles Pépin once said, confidence comes from others. Thanks to all of you, I’ve been able to share these updates each week with renewed confidence and joy.
Still… with the update build due tomorrow, I’m a bit nervous. 😅

Fist I wanted to thank Kjun and the team for keeping up with us over here, sometimes it might not be easy. Honestly this all sounds amazing, I don't even know where to start... are we implying Skateboarding is coming in December? Yay!
I would love for more Key binding and direct control, so this is good news for many of us
Regarding the personality system, we will try it out and bring our honest feedback before making any assumptions, I think the devs cherish this game as much as we posibly do, and I trust once we reach the finish line the personality system will be one that satisfy most people, as it is never possible to satisfy everyone. Let's review it open mindedly!
Finally, I am very curious as to what the seasonal events will look like in the future, as well as these wednesday feedback chats.

Oh! When developing new jobs don't forget delivery, I'd love to go around with my zoi and his motorbike delivering to houses as a job!

The October update already looks promising, packed with many new systems and interactions to try besides Halloween content, which is always a must, but it looks like there is so much to unpack for inZOI both for the December update and beyond... I cannot wait to see what comes! Thank you also for considering adding more direct controls for the keyboard, it is going to make the inZOi experience even more unique! I'm curious to see how that turns out in future updates.

Another point that calls my attention is the new shop system that you mentioned. One of the features that seems lacking right now is the shopping experience, so I am curious to see what you have planned. Please try to squeeze in some information about it in a future Friday video, as well as the crime and police system. Both sound rather exciting and I'm sure all of us would like to know a bit more!

December Holiday Feedback

  • Will it be possible to buy gifts for others? tag who the gift is from be it a person or anonymous (aka santa 😛) and tag who the gift is to, and be able place them under the tree. So the day Christmas arrives everyone can open their own gifts.
  • Different Christmas tree decoration styles. Some more colorful, some more posh, being able to customize the tree color, skills to make new ornaments from glass or porcelain materials,
  • Christmas tree decorating a shared family activity that animation lasts an hr in game. Which can be paused and resume until its complete.
  • Kids being able to have a list of desired gifts they want for Christmas and Birthdays
  • A Christmas parade would be so cool, like the ones you see in CyberPunk2077 happening in the middle of town. It could automatically happen at a specific time and wouldnt necessarily be interactable but everyone would be able to react to it (clapping, cheering, dancing)

Tysm for your hard work there was a lot added in this update which is amazing!! Im looking forward to key customization im hoping we could possibly get a jump feature eventually! So impressed with this October update and thank u for adding blowdryers!! Super happy about that the only thing i would ask is for the blowdryer to also be in build mode so that we could place it in our houses but still be usable, still great addition! Custom tracks or also very cool and im wondering if they could be applied to maybe a radio system for cars aswell? Speaking of cars, im not sure if parking will be in this update, if not its okay though. Im glad youre looking into developing more features like surfing and skateboarding alongside adding barber shops and salons, those would definitely improve immersion. Ty guys for ur hard work ❤️❤️

I'm excited to hear that details about future plans might come out earlier, like the Halloween addition and ideas people had expressed. I don't mind if it's more about time-related events or a lot more.

I'm one who is very sad that characters I was playing with traits that no longer exist are no longer viable. I don't know if old saves will load and continue as they were, but I had planned to re-build my pre-Cahaya characters and start a new save game that can take advantage of the features of that update which were not available in pre-Cahaya saved games. But now I will not be able to do that.

I will try the new system and give feedback on it, but I definitely think preferences like Bibliophile should not be traits. I don't know why Clumsy was added as a trait or how that will contribute to more unique personalities.

I'm glad it's all a work in progress, and I am reminded not to get attached or too deeply immersed in any single zoi or save game I make.

I think the change to personalities is so extreme that it will impact my level of enjoyment in the game going forward because I will always hold back some because what I like can be taken away at any moment.

Many things have been taken away since the game released in Early Access. People complained about warnings from Psycat about managing karma—so the reminders were removed. No toggle—just taken away. People complained about receiving gifts from their zoi friends—so that was taken away. No toggle—just taken away. Both of these features were enjoyed by people, but they were taken away completely due to complaints. I don't know if anyone complained, but for some reason, the ability to have a completely rundown city appearance was taken away. It hardly changes a thing now.

What I like from the new update could be taken away with the next one, or another down the line. It will impact how I approach inZOI going forward.

We're also hoping for more control over aging. The ability to custom define how many days are in each life stage, the ability to change age groups directly from customzoi, and greater control over freezing non-active zoi progress such that relationship/career changes do not occur during rotational play.

I Love Love Love how much they care about creating good quality so i can relate to not feeling right if they couldn’t get something perfectly in time but it always end up being super cool anyway. I’m especially excited for the improved group system and doing activities together and some of the things I’ve seen for babies… well… actually everything I’m excited for tbh though so lol can’t wait!

Its great they started working on group interactions. I think team could go "all hands on deck" with this one to fix all the issues (I watched some test of the new update on YouTube and not all of them are working) and make UX for those interactions the most user friendly it can be.
Ist great that InZoi is updating the jail system and Zois/ghost can do bad stuff and face real-deal consequences. It really adds the layer of storytelling that Sims never had. And its a great base for some (adult) gameplay mods in the future.

If we could have elves and Santa with his reindeers and sleigh in city decorations along with Christmas and New Year fireworks, tinsles, lots of evergreen trees (some snow covered and decorated with ornaments and Christmas lights so the can appear around town), huge candy canes like lamp posts, wreaths for the doors of npc homes and Christmas lights we can use to decorate the whole city. We could also get new billboard themed around Christmas/new years and winter in general and Christmas radio stations

I got into life simulation because of romance and family gameplay so I took three of my favorite ideas from the Romance section and posting it here:

  • An attraction system.

Since Inzoi uses enneagram with additional traits (2 slots), we can utilize this to create the attraction system while working along with allocating points to the 5 values in life. With 20-40 points per zoi (idk which amount will balance it, so its an estimate).

Compassion ↔ Selfishness
Ambition ↔ Complacency
Loyalty ↔ Unreliability
Independence ↔ Dependence/Clinginess
Empathy ↔ Emotional Detachment

There will also be 2 additional slots for the 5 languages of love as well. So when you meet another zoi that values your love language it increases their attraction levels through time (the more you act upon your love language), instead of instant love.

  • Idle animations

Zoi couple can enter a “shared idle” state where one shifts slightly closer, resting against the other, brushing a partner’s arm, or playing with hair. Small idle romantic animations can make relationships in InZoi feel genuinely alive. It will be so cute to see my male zoi play with the ends of my hair ❤!

  • Crushes and love letters.

Allow teens to have crushes and romance. They can either confess by confrontation or with a love letter. But what will bring it back to the next level is rumors! If you told your friend that you have a crush it can spread through the word of mouth, eventually the zoi that you have a crush on will know and your friends can tease you about it!

Exactly more holiday decorations and music! But if we get our own radio stations to plug in our own MP3 music it won't really be needed. But I DO wish we had public radios like GTA and CyberPunk2077 that had random ads and talking inbetween it'd make the unseen parts of the world seem alive. But it'd also be nice to able to change the city with different holiday decorations. With that being said we need a build/buy filter for holiday decorations too so it's easier to find.

Some of the core things this game needs now in my opinion is:

  • A lot more family game play
  • baby/toddler update (coming in Dec) ... hope they will make the baby smaller.
  • unique gameplay for each life-stage
  • things to do around the city, , where they also can meet other people at their age. Playground for toddlers and children. Functional skatepark for children and teens mainly, but also adult. Elder-center for elders.
  • Also more unique gameplay per season, the feel of every season

Right now it's not much different between adolescent and teen. I think they should either remove one of them, or tweak the height or something.

I love the animation of zoi laying on couch on phone. I love to see zoi accidentally drop a phone on her face or/and on her chest just occasionally or far less. If zoi have clumsy trait, it make sense for that to trigger the phone accidentally fall on her face 😅

Maybe with infants and toddlers if they don't add them to CAZ we could purchase baby clothes that we could dress them in or hair accessories to put their hair up. Would add roleplay to have maybe a Babys R Us type store in town for that. I think lots coulld be costomized fo be in a different style you could set for the seasons so you could customize worldwide decor.

Oh my God, I absolutely love the update related to children and infants! Yes, it’s such a wonderful step — I’ve been waiting for it eagerly. Thank you so much! I really hope you’ll continue to focus on childhood and infant life in future developments, as well as pregnancy and postpartum life. I love having children in the game and taking care of them.

My feedback (more will be added)

  • The world is more "alive" now but they still don’t engage with venues or community lots as much as expected. I'd love if zois show up in those areas and interact with it based on context like—if you're at a club NPC zois will autonomously dance and talk to one another, or eat at food trucks, talk in a circle in Clover Park. And when friends coincidentally meet at a location, they can greet each other briefly with a friendly hug/nod then transition into a short conversation if they aren't busy, couples can hug or give a peck as a greeting, and kids can wave happily at their friends. So far, from what I have seen, people have acknowledged how alive the world has become but criticized that there is more room for improvement to bring it to the next level.

  • In one of my games, I was playing as another zoi and was shocked to see my intended couple sit at a table in the park together, chatting. It made me feel as if the game simulated according to their relationships and past actions. I love moments like that.

I will love if AI can pick up the routines I have created for my zois/relationships and adapt accordingly. So when I switch to play as another household, AI will simulate remembered behaviors and dynamics based on player's influence/habits.

For example: The system could track frequency-based behavior patterns, (adaptive AI learning):

I make my female Zoi hug her husband warmly when he comes back home everyday from work → they keep doing so when unplayed.

If I send a Zoi to a certain community lot → their AI autonomously visits it more often.

If I visit my other household → their AI plays out their dynamics and routines.

This makes Inzoi feel immersive because the world still continues from the stories I have built within it. I also feel this will help players feel at ease when leaving their households unchecked.

Thank you! Its the small details ❤. It will be so cute if my one of my zois can give them an adoring stare as well. This can be based on random probability too (sometimes they lean in and sometimes they do something else). I don't want to rely on mods to make my relationships feel alive and cute. Its really the small details 🥺.

It will also be cool if it extended to friends/family as well! Children can fidget their parents clothes, look up at parent and smile. Friends/siblings can reach to brush a strand of hair away or show something on their phone for a moment then lean back, or fold arms and glance toward you like casually observing. If zois can just take out mirrors and look at themselves, why not allow them to enter a idle state together (can be canceled). These makes relationships feel real and can increase attachment to our zois because they feel alive and not static.

EDIT: It will be so cute if my zoi couple are sitting together on the couch and enter an idle state where they place legs over one another, or softly caress the other zoi's leg.

I’m so happy about the level of inclusion with us that’s being shown. To be listened to and have our wants heard and as realistically as possible, delivered. This game is bringing back the hope I lost with Sims. I’m more of a realism player, so I just look forward and hope for the little things that make the game more, “alive.” .. Like owning my own cat, being able to carry a book in my bag and then pull it out to read at the park, (even being able to see the bag on my person and have choice of how it is designed would be epic,) meditating on the beach, more detailed realistic text messages, phone calls, and so many other little things much of what I read in these comments. ❤️ can’t wait to see what the future holds for inZoi. And I see mixed reviews about the Ai features but I personally love them, especially for NPC’s, so I really hope that thrives and continues. I know it would bring that realism I want.

Idk if you saw but in the Reddit ama he said they only had a month to work on it so we wouldn’t get as much content and then just last Friday he said they worked on it for a month and 3 weeks. So they pushed to work on it longer to add more content I’m assuming which I rather them do than cut it shorter to get it out sooner tbh

On top of all the good features that we players have shared on discord, reddit and the forum, here's a few features that will change / enhance the gameplay for all :

1️⃣Do something ( let us give commands to NPC like ' go clean, go take a shower's do this/do that) 👍🏼
2️⃣ More activities and events around town (seasonal or random popup) 📆
3️⃣ Enhanced healthcare system (abortion, pregnancy complications, hospital visit, disease, potential life threatening situations) 🏥
4️⃣ Lockable doors 🚪
5️⃣ Set fees to enter certain public spaces (pools, arcades etc.). This isn't realistic that everything is free. 🤑
6️⃣ Let us choose the songs /next songs in the strereo 🎵
7️⃣ Different walk, voices and looks 😍
8️⃣ More clutter for the cities (trash etc.) and for day to day life. 🗑️
9️⃣ Go for a walk/ jogging together 👟
1️⃣0️⃣ Less bubble choices in the conversations for starters . In my opinion right from the get go we have too many options when we meet someone. It should be evolving (more options when we know the zoi better etc.). 💬
1️⃣1️⃣ More unpredictable events throughout the game (lost of electricity, death, disease, a lost cousin that calls us and want to meet etc.)

It's the December update that will focus on improving babies and children, I believe. They said the Halloween update would be a smaller, less extensive one.

The new child, infant, and toddler interactions and animations are amazing/more than I expected for the October update...probably the best family gameplay update so far. December is going to be really cool. Only thing I really wish was in the game that isn't yet is the ability to dress infants/toddlers or pick hairstyles. As for the 48 minute day, Usually I prefer 96 min or 4 hours (occasionally 24 hours), so glad the other options were left in. 48 minutes felt like on high speed and not enough time to do things and I like the immersion of walking places so I won't be enabling teleport. In some ways this update seems to add more actual game play than the last two (although I did like the swimming and boats in Cahaya and adoption in May). However, with this one the actual day to day gameplay seems richer.

I love the update with all of the new features to make social meetups more common but then I tried to see if I can pick up one of my Zoi in a car on the way to somewhere else and I realized the same issue from before the update: the non household members will quickly exit the car if you don’t drive off fast enough or if you break/ stop the car so I’m hoping you guys fix this InZoi team plsss!!😭 other than that I love the new update

I love playing as a villain, but right now my Zoi has to pick fights with NPCs over and over just to unlock certain interactions. I wish it were easier — like if those actions showed up directly as options instead of being hidden.🙏 😭

Because people don’t want to. We left the sims for a reason and we shouldn’t have to go back for a feature that is optional here. I get not everyone likes occult stuff but if you don’t have to deal with it unless enabled or bought as dlc in the future I really don’t see the problem. Some of us like occult stuff and I don’t think we should be constantly told “ go play the other game” because of a feature you’re not even forced to have. If people wanted to play the sims and some still do then they’ll do that but some of us like the extra fun occults add and that really shouldn’t bother anyone when you don’t have to even deal with it.

So I’m currently in build mode and I LOVE that we have so many new effects!!!! Some of them weren’t shown in the update video like the fireflies, butterflies, falling petals, falling leaves and embers and I love it all so muchhhhh. I only have 2 small critiques though, for the fire effects you can see that it’s a quick looped animation and I think it should flow more naturally like how it does in the fire pits or fireplaces. Same thing for the fountains I just wish it looked a bit more realistic but other than that I am live with it all!!!!
Side note the blue butterflies reminded me of life is strange💙🦋

More Feedback

For family/group interactions when going out into town or having family outings.
It would be great to have these small features added:

  • Being able to buy fast food for everyone if you're going out as a family/group. When it's fast-food the person buying carries the tray of food then serves it to everyone sitting down. Similar to the 'serve group meal' feature now but for fast food restaurants. So a new interaction for the cashier would say 'Buy food for group' then you'd pick the items.
  • When dining out families and groups eats at the same table and strangers won't sit down in those seats and void it, and zois part of the group won't sit at another table, unless there's not enough seating available of course.
  • When kids are out with parents and say one kid wanders off one of the other siblings could go look for them and tell them to stay close, then they'd walk back together.

Family interactions at home

  • Having household rules be a thing such as: no talking at the dinner table, family conversations allowed at table, no running in house, no cellphone use in house and set which age groups it applies to; phone use would be disabled unless for emergencies, set curfew for children-teens.

Car interactions with groups

  • Being able to have conversations and arguments with others while driving.
  • Being able to eat a meal together in car, hangout in cars and just talk, being able to sleep/rest in car, ask another zoi to drive
  • Add a feature to cars where you can honk for family members to come outside and get in (if part of a group) and a car honk for traffic that other cars and people react to.

I think it would be a great idea to disable occult zois like ghosts. From being able to form relationships randomly and being something you see alot in everyday.

But I wouldnt mind another optional toggle introduced, which would allow hauntings on properties only. If there was a way to separate the two, to both be a toggle option that'd be amazing.

I loved how the public places have become full of life, like the nightclub. However, I have a suggestion — the events or parties feel too short. It would be great if we could set or extend their duration.

Taking away all the karma-related features has gutted the main feature that set this game apart from the Sims. There are still a few things remaining that are different, but this update has taught me to never buy an early access game again.

I guess karma features were just there as a gimmick while the dev team worked on ghost play. Who cares if anyone liked that feature—it obviously wasn't a serious attempt to make a game different than The Sims.

This has been such a major bait and switch. I don't even have words for how upsetting and disappointing this update and this game is! There are some good things added and good things taken away, and I'm left looking at it like a great big dumpster fire happening right before my eyes.

I can only hope that karma is being reworked some and made even better. But I feel no hope for that right now.

I didn’t realize the karma system got removed.. 😮 And i absolutely love the new romantic interaction, but i’m looking forward for more intimate interactions such as sit on lap, cuddle in bed, long comforting hugs, longer kisses maybe? Slow dancing, watch the stars together, watch tv while cuddling, drink warm tea together?? Lol.. Also more interaction for kids between parents would be cute, i really miss the physical affection between zoi kids & adults. It would be so cute to be able to give a deep warm hug to the zoi kids.

Same here. When it started, instead of bringing back the unique, dynamic, and life-stage-specific early-build Big Five temperament model, they put in sims-like traits (static, you’re forced to assign two of them, even if none of them fitting,.) The Enneagram system was damaged in parallel. So instead of a potential (r)evolution, it’s the 16th year and the third+ game in a row with nothing new in personality systems (let’s not mention the indie game that has a new personality model).

Then it turns out the Karma system is completely removed. Then you find out that even though there are more Zois on screen, off-screen simulation stops, and the list of 300 Zois in the city is gone. Then you find out that run-down city has only been brought back as facade decals in Dowon, and hasn’t been touched at all in Bliss Bay.

Three or four more features that were announced before EA launch that shaped the game’s identity (and, importantly, made me buy this game) have been removed and/or replaced with sims-like.

I expected a lot, but certainly not the eradication of the game’s USP (unique selling preposition) almost in all its aspects. Uninstalled 😩

This update has been really great imo, I enjoyed the game even more than before. The city simulation feels so much alive. It doesn't bother me they removed the old karma system because it wasn't anything great, it was poorly made system (needed complete reworks if they bring it back later).

I understand some people just dislikes things they copied from the sims but its so much better than the old default trait system, because Zoi doesn't have uniqueness to them (they're all the same, feels so robotic and bland before). Kjun even said the system is still early and they are still improving it, just give it time. The game and any of its features are nowhere near complete, don't expect too much for everything to be so perfect in this small update.

I would love to see the karma system make a return but it definitely needs a rework.
The original idea of it influencing whether zois stick around as ghosts and what that life stage would look like for them was really interesting! But it seems like such a complicated system, which simply wasn't working very well in the implementation we had.
I didn't like that we had to enforce everyone to have good karma, as it takes away from the whole point of the system imo. Zois should be allowed to have bad karma and live out the consequences in the afterlife.

It would be really interesting if Zois could be born with an influence from their past life's karma as well. Being born with a random chance of having bad karma from a past life influence you with unlucky things happening around you until you earn a certain amount of good karma to atone for it would be a really interesting way to spice up gameplay imo!

I’ve only played a small amount with the update but I’m really liking it so far. A few things I noticed:

  • The new needs system seems to be working very well. It works fine with the 96-minute day and the balance seems a lot better. I still think they should have kept 96 minutes as the default.
  • Adding new conversation actions to the queue now seems to cancel out the ‘Small Talk’ action. Hallelujah!
  • Various other actions have had their timing improved. For example, it no longer takes about 3 hours to read a book.
  • The new personality system is a definite improvement in terms of making Zois feel more unique. I can’t tell yet how much it affects autonomous actions, but I started seeing new urges and moodlets related to traits almost immediately. For example, Zois with the Perfectionist temperament or Neat Freak trait will get the urge to brush their teeth after meals.
  • The Halloween music is great, including the music on the home screen.

I haven’t tried ghost play or the Trick-or-Treat events yet, but am looking forward to them. As for the removal of karma: I honestly can’t say I’ve noticed any real difference. I’d be happy to see the old karma and personality systems reworked and brought back, as long as the devs can make them fun to play - but right now my preference is for gameplay systems that actually work over experimental stuff that doesn’t.

Mind you none of these changes will be permanent I’m sure and instead of sticking around to see how things change over time you’re just giving up on the game? So much for someone who said how so much of the features they wanted to see addressed were just mentioned and some of which reflected on literally just 6 days ago. “It's such a joy to see your creativity in full bloom! Everything looks so fresh, rich, and even delicious. And your early original Karma + Ghost Play turned out to be a perfect fit for this Autumn update. Those have been some of inZOl's most exciting features from the very beginning - I'm really looking forward to them!” Those were your words and yet you couldn’t even be bothered to update the game for something that was an exciting feature simply cause traits were added in a way you didn’t like. I’ve seen multiple of your replies on here and on the forums and it seems like the second something gets removed that you may have thought was a good feature ( which we don’t know if it’s even permanent removal, for all you know they could be looking at ways to improve it and then add it in or maybe even add a better feature) or isn’t being addressed as soon as you would like you are quick to jump. Seems very wishy washy tbh. Nothing in this game is finalized yet and for all the features you’ve suggested like bubbly which was literally just mentioned 6 days ago you’re not even gonna stick around to see

I was driving around it down (which looks amazing btw like i almost had a hard time recognizing it!) and i saw a gas station, maybe this could become functional in the future that would be really cool if it was. Alongside the a mini map for the player that gives directions to a location if you want to manually drive there. Sometimes im directionally challenged so a map for driving would help a lot! I also wonder if the firetrucks could be usable in the future maybe

I think Zinkly's tone was a bit too harsh and too personal, but just as people should obviously be allowed to criticise the changes in the update, other people should also be able to disagree and say why - this is also useful feedback for the devs. Downvoting doesn't really say anything except "I disagree" with no explanation. I get people being upset that features in the original pitch are being changed/removed, but clearly some players here have a very specific idea of what they want InZoi to be like, and have a tendency to catastrophise over any changes that deviate from this - even those with a very minor gameplay impact (karma) or obvious improvements that don't really take away anything (personalities). I don't think these kind of extreme reactions are helpful as feedback, especially considering the game's current WIP state.

As for actual feedback: I get why people were attracted to the original vision for karma, I really do. But in practice, it just wasn't WORKING the way it was supposed to. No one wants to worry about the karma of a random NPC Zoi on the other side of the city. No one playing a criminal Zoi wants to have to kick dozens of boxes and vending machines first. If the devs are going to bring back karma to normal gameplay, they first need to figure out a way to make it actually fun for the majority of players.

If a player like me reduces interest in the game --> presence / pressure / criticism, does that mean those who are satisfied with everything actually benefit more (recent Steam rating 69% positive, 1,295 in-game)? 🤔

As for “temperaments”: if everything had been done properly from the start, it would’ve worked, since a half of the former Enneagram-style motivations still seem to retain their names, any of them could be adapted for gameplay by blending in MBTI, Jung, etc. without destroying this unique circle with wings.

But that’s not even the question here. The studio had already presented two systems, and the very first one was centered around what are now the current “traits”, only implemented in a way that was progressive and dynamic.

They were actually called temperaments and were divided into age groups, which meant that through birth, upbringing, and maturation, Zoi could acquire one of the traits aligned with the OCEAN system or Truity’s 30-Trait:

starting from birth with a gradients of Openness (Threadmill, Adventurous, Stubborn, Emotional, Realistic, Idea bank? -KR), then in childhood the gradients of Conscientiousness (Lazy, Leisurely, Achivement-oriented, Impromptu, Principled), Extroversion (Shy with strangers, Bashful, Contemplative, Sociable, Own Way, Infinite Energy), and by youth – Agreeableness (Modest + 5 temperaments) and Neuroticism (no info). Five temperaments, unlocked over the course of life, in total.

Since temperaments govern motivations, they could coexist as underlying layers, following the principle of compatibility. If a motivation aligns well with a given temperament (or value/preference) the game could offer it as a selectable option. But if the temperament is critically low (Lazy), a penalty would apply when choosing a matching motivation. At the same time, the game could allow the player to re-educate Lazy into Achievement-Oriented, unlocking blocked motivations and values.

I haven't left feedback on the update yet because I've had very little time to play, but please fix the issue with textures not applying to the game quickly. I almost exclusively use my own textured clothing, and this bug is extremely annoying.

It hasn't been removed entirely, but most of the previous karma-based functions have basically been disabled. To compensate for this, karma has been integrated into ghost play (ghosts have Karma as a Need, and can improve it by helping other ghosts around the city). It's unclear whether the devs want to remove karma altogether for normal Zois or just rework the system and bring it back later on.

Not to compensate. Karma was the core Need for the playable ghosts in the pre-EA builds. That mechanic had been in development far longer than just one month and three weeks (possibly a year). It was supposed to be refined and brought back by August (according to the roadmap.) But the mechanic was originally built around Karma during life.

In theory I'd like to see it back, but I think it needs a major rework to be more reactive than prescriptive. People shouldn't be punished with constant nagging about karma for wanting to play 'evil' Zois. And as someone who mostly plays 'good' Zois, it didn't really add anything to my game, and was mostly just an annoyance (e.g. preventing Zois from fulfilling certain urges/ambitions because their Karma wasn't high enough).

I love the enneagram system and feel it accurately captures how people view and interact with the world. The recent changes introducing Outlaw and Rulebreaker seem to be veering away from that system though into a muddled mess of something else.

I get that people want edgy non-conformist options, but that's already built into the Enneagram through the various stages of health. The Visionary Individualist will turn into a melodramatic drama queen when their needs aren't met. The Romantic Helper becomes irrational and explosive, paranoid and completely shut off from reason. The Pacifist Idealist can't be motivated to do anything, it's like pulling teeth trying to get a response. The Explorer Intellectual sends barbs and nasty jokes that are shockingly cruel.

The darker side is already built in. When you replace the Helper with a Recluse you miss out on one of the best types who is emotionally needy, running around trying to care for everyone else until they run out of steam. If you want a recluse look at the Intellectual or the Pacifist. They're the ones who can lock themselves away and forget about the world.

Rather than changing what the core types are add a slider that can move between their lighter and darker sides. If Zois don't get their relational needs met, if they're financially stressed, get too far out of their comfort zone, etc then let them slide over to the darker side and burn down the world.

There's also a lot of potential for adding in Erikson's stages of development. If an infant cries and no one responds they fail trust vs mistrust and their enneagram personality swings to the darker side.

As a side note, I'm loving the new characteristics and the added dynamic they're going to bring. I'm glad if the Karma system is getting worked on, it was a bit much as it was, but has a lot of potential as a concept.

This has to be a bug! When the TV caught fire, the alarm went off and my Zoi immediately called the fire department. But we waited forever and the firefighters never showed up. This completely kills the immersion — if it's a bug, please fix it as soon as possible!😭

I haven’t had a chance to dive into the new update yet (I’m hoping I get to play it today)… but based on extensively reading the Patch notes and other players feedback… I think the devs are trying to make the “Karma System” a more behind the scenes aspect of the game.. which I totally agree with..

The Karma system is definitely a unique system that should be present, because it adds something new to the genre. But, the way it was previously implemented, forced the player to play their game in only one direction.. (Ex: Every single Zoi must perform “good” interactions all of the time or be punished.) Which makes the game feel very linear and predictable.

Karma should be something that is developed over the entire life span of the Zoi and is based on their various interactions/major life events that have occurred. (For example… a Zoi who is born into wealthy family, but ends up making poor life choices… or a poor Zoi, who spends their lives helping others.. or a Zoi who just enjoys living a criminal lifestyle)

The player should be the ones molding the world into what opportunities are available for the Zoi’s to explore and experience..

As a community we should all remember to always give the Dev team valuable feedback and constructive criticism. It’s okay to not agree with every single change, but we should definitely be respectful to the team and to each other.

I learned there were very negative aspects to the karma system when people wanted to play "bad" zois. I was completely unaware because I hadn't tried playing one yet.

After learning that, I really want to make some suggestions for ways to improve the karma system and bring it back.

The karma system was the soul of the game, as far as I see it. Taking it out has really hurt my experience playing the game. But learning that it wasn't balanced to be fun for all play styles, I think it should be improved but not taken away.

I'm so disappointed with the dev team for not communicating this change or anything about it beforehand.

Anyways, to improve the karma system,

  1. it would be nice if players knew they don't need to scold or praise any zois. It should be made clear that those actions do (I had to go online to find out, but it should be clear in the game).

  2. it would be fun if we could play as a "dark demigod" sometime, and instead of scolding terrible karma, we could choose to compliment those zois, and ignore or even scold the good zois!

The karma system is too important to take it away like this. Please bring it back with improvements to suit all play styles.

It would be really interesting if Zois could be born with an influence from their past life's karma as well. Being born with a random chance of having bad karma from a past life influence you with unlucky things happening around you until you earn a certain amount of good karma to atone for it would be a really interesting way to spice up gameplay imo!

I’m trying out the new update, and so far I’ve only had time to move into the city — I haven’t tested the gameplay yet.

But the very first thing that caught my eye (and I have to mention it right away) is that the graphics, textures, and lighting look much worse than before. 😢
It feels like the world I knew has turned into something completely different…
Also, the game doesn’t run as smoothly as it used to — despite having good hardware, it lags and shows visual “artifacts” on the screen.

inZOI used to have beautiful lighting and color tones.
Please, bring them back. 🙏🏻

Hello, Kjun, people... What exactly is going on with mods (specially Buld Mode and CAZ mods)? Many of them are causing a popup window saying "faled to aply mods"... Do they really need to be updated, or is it a bug? Regarding the Textures issue, could it be a good idea for a future update to have some different folders like, for instance: textiles, floor and walls, and picture images? Many of us are feeling very disappointed with the quantity of bugs and issues that have come along with this last update, and we all hope ypu and your great team are going to solve them soon. Thank you!

I thought the graphics got downgraded too at first. But after a while idk it looks smoother now to me. Realistic shadows no longer flickers in my pc. Performance got better and more consistent now. The massive amount of Zois in the city doesn't spike anything so much compared to previous build (10+ Zois at one place lagged so bad before this update).

Feedback on the update:

I noticed that needs finally decrease faster 🙏🏻 which is great 🙃 — but hunger and energy drop way too quickly.
My Zoi walks a few steps away from home, chats with someone, and already runs out of energy while making those annoying tired sounds. 😅
They eat, go for a short walk, and immediately have to look for a restaurant to eat again.
It feels like “a life about eating.” 😀

I’m adding a photo for reference — all graphics, details, and shadows are set to the highest possible settings + DLAA.

The overall graphics quality has noticeably decreased — everything looks more grayish, and details on flowers, stems, and grass are missing. 🌿
The visuals now feel more like a mobile game, which is disappointing. I used to enjoy walking around and admiring the city — it used to have such beautiful details and lighting. 🌇

The street with cars is mostly in shadow, so I’d suggest adding more details... and shadows under the cars, benches, etc. 🚗🪑
Also, the car textures look blurry.

Would it be possible to add more advanced graphics options for high-end PCs/GPUs?
Things like path tracing or detailed rendering settings, so the character models can look as close as possible to what we see in Zoi Character Studio.

Some of us really enjoy taking photos and creating content to show off how beautiful InZoi looks on powerful PCs — it would be awesome to have that extra level of visual fidelity!

Before & After Update. Lightings look a bit different due to weather/time that I can't get them right, other than that I'm not noticing any significant differences. They will upgrade UE in December so I think the graphics will keep being improved and optimized.

Another option could be to make energy recharge faster.
In real life, when you go out to the city and start to feel low on energy, you can simply rest on a bench for a few minutes — until you catch your breath and your legs recover — and then get up and continue walking again. It usually takes just a short moment to feel refreshed. 🌿

But in the game, it takes a very long time for the energy to recover. Even after resting for quite a while, the ZOI still doesn’t regain enough energy to move around normally again.

I HATE what the new update did to sleeping. Now my zoi cannot sleep during the day until fully rested. I force her to stay up all night, but now she won’t sleep during the day. Talk about limiting free play from players.

Please add Halloween costumes, Carving Pumpkins, Trick or Treating around the neighbourhood, having a spooky, Halloween party and plenty of gameplay for Halloween, also for funerals they should add kick a grave like Sims 2 had, also plenty of gameplay for funerals needs to be added, I want them to be realistic and cause sad emotions for ZOIs
