How's the weather like where you are? Depending on your location, the difference could be dramatic. For example, Korea is still in the middle of winter, with temperatures hovering around negative degrees, while people in places like Brazil are probably in short sleeves enjoying the warm weather!

As we've mentioned before, inZOI allows you to experience a variety of weather conditions. Recently, we've taken this further by implementing 'seasons' and 'temperature' effects in the game. In our Korea-inspired Dowon, we’ve applied the conventional four seasons to emulate the experience of living in urban Korea. Meanwhile, Bliss Bay, inspired by Southern California, maintains a generally warm climate year-round (Fun fact: The last time a measurable snowfall was seen in San Diego was back in 1967!). We wanted each of our cities to feel authentic—after all, it wouldn’t be SoCal if it snowed every day in winter!

To further enhance this realism, we’ve also made sure that the clothing Zois wear reflects the current temperature. If your Zoi is underdressed in freezing winter, they can quickly fall ill—and if left in that state too long, they might not be able to survive. The same applies to wearing overly thick clothing in high temperatures. inZOI does offer situational clothing presets, allowing you to assign seasonally appropriate outfits to your Zois, which would likely reduce any weather-related accidents.

However, issues can arise if you manually select outfits that don’t match the weather or assign less-than-ideal seasonal presets in the character creation menu. There is a slight workaround, though: in city edit, you can change the weather however you like (yes, you can make Bliss Bay snow in summer 😂). This allows for complete freedom in how you can dress your Zois regardless of the season. Your Zoi could wear winter coats in the tropical Bliss Bay or shorts in Dowon during winter. However, weather changes in city edit are currently only temporary, and the game will eventually revert to the default seasonal weather for that city (Let us know if you would like a feature that lets you keep your custom weather settings indefinitely!).

How much should we prioritize realism in our weather system versus allowing full freedom in dressing your Zois? Are there ways we can provide realism and still allow you the freedom to style your Zois however you like? Let us know in the comments!

i just saw a wishlist post for this!! allow zois to be affected by the weather conditions especially if their outfit contracts with it heavily, but still allow zois to pick outfits they want and just deal with whatever happens after that 🤷🏽

I would hope for as much realism as possible in the Inzoi world. strong winds can affect yard items and the balance of inzois, Rain can lead to flooding, Cold night can lead to the ground freezing making it slippery for Inzois, tsunamis with horrific winds and storms, and so on.

As for clothing please allow players to have their Inzois wear whatever they like, but with unavoidable circumstances, leading to Inzois getting sick, shiver, too hot, heat stroke, mood swings(randomized not defaulted), and so on if the clothes do not match the appropriate weather conditions. But as there are people who can handle hotter or colder weather, either because their birth origin, genetics, or athletic hobbies, these Inzois should be able to bypass weather conditions that other normal Inzois can't. Even having animals affected by the wheather, including pets and wild animals would love to see how they would react, depending on their species or size.

*Also maybe have Inzois who are more likely to get sick from such conditions like those who were already sick leading to worsening health conditions, as well as children, elderly and pregnant woman
should be more at risk for getting sick, unless they tend to be very active and health, which gains them more immunity to such weather conditions. ♥

I think it's good how you have it. It's part of the charm to have the seasons match the country. it's a balmy -2C right now for me. It was -20C yesterday. 😆. I hope there's seasonal activities (skiing/skating/ snowman. Or swimming in the beach in the warm weather)

I'm thinking it should just be an option you check/turn on or off in the settings. Like "realistic weather effects" and a short explanation that it means some pros and cons affiliated with it.

That way you can still have the Zois change into their weather-specific outfits without worrying about sickness/death if that's not how the players wish to play their world.

Kjun_Heart I love the new thoughts about the weather system! May i propose going indepth with this. Its already so realistic and i d agree that there should be a option to indefinitely allow free weather but maybe this could have 2 methods? 1 custom and 1 default system that can be enabled at will?

My propose is to simply add the wet and dry season. Yes, this is a thing, many people may not know this but here in the caribbean, many countries (if not, all) only experience the wet and dry seasons. Maybe at some point in the future, other cities may replicate this. Other than that, what about the stormy weather? I love listening music while knowing there is strong winds going exceptional speeds with rain outside ( im just being dramatic haha) but my point still stands, the stormy weather and the "gloomy" weather as well, that point where it seems it'll snow/rain, but it wont, its just extremely cloudy!

these are my thoughts, cant wait to hear more on these topics in the AMA session!Psycat_Blush

I feel like it's definitely more realistic to have weather specific outfits. Some clothing items, like regular skinny jeans, can be worn in any weather, so having certain things tagged as "All Weather" could help. The way you have it currently described sounds great!

I'm sorry, did the dev team just do research on South Cali? Yup my favorite dev team.

None the less, I love this approach! I always enjoyed the weather changing system in games and reflecting on the clothes you have to wear. I love the realism that if your out in the snow with shorts, you can get sick! I definitely think maybe while getting clothes, there should be a cold clothing option, but still can have your zoi be in anything. Example, maybe a section that dedicated to just winter clothing and then the same thing for summer or fall, but we can still choose other outfits with the consequences of our own. Like I can make my zoi wear a hoodie and some shorts, but my zoi can still get sick by my own actions and consequences. If that makes sense.

I want realism with Weather. It should have a warm element clothing you can protect your Zois from the weather. Like scarves, winter tights, gloves, ear muffs, long coats. Etc so the ZOI's can wear things like short skirts in winter and other styles.

For school will bad weather conditions have an impact on school and work days? Will there be a such thing as summer break? How about unusual whether patterns too.. unexpected rainy day. Or being snowed in during a winter storm and zois arent able to travel outside .. maybe a rainstorm that temporarily impacts your zoi's daily lives like an outage. I want bad things to happen to my zois thats out of my control sometimes as a player.

I would definitely love to see a more realistic approach to weather! In sims i loved to use weather as a way to direct myself to create outfit selections based on the season at the time so that way im able to make the most out of the clothing options available and not just stick to "summer clothes" per say ❤️ and that goes for the negative effects of wearing certain clothes in non suitable weather!

Hello Kjun! I loved this topic about weather, as it can add so much depth and realism to the gameplay! Personally, I prefer the game to follow the path of realism, as it will add greater immersion and substance to the weather and a challenge to manage our ZOIs' clothes! Here in Brazil, it's quite hot, with the predominant climate being tropical, although recently it's been especially hot! Additionally, I have some suggestions that I would love to see implemented in the game. On a rainy day with a lot of wind, I would love for our ZOI to have difficulty holding the umbrella, and if they wear a hat, there could be an animation of the ZOI struggling to keep the hat stable. On a day of intense heat, there could be an animation of the ZOI fanning themselves to cool down, or wanting to run to a shade. If they stay unprotected from the sun for too long, they may develop sunburn on their skin. On a stormy day, the ZOI, if outside, may run to shelter from the rain. Businesses that are open may close due to the storm. Animals that are indoors may be startled by the sound of rain and lightning. And speaking of lightning, I would also like there to be, for example, power outages, or a lightning strike hitting a tree! ZOIs may also avoid wanting to go out in high temperatures of heat, and NPCs may react with strangeness if our ZOI does not wear appropriate clothing for the weather. Psycat_Blush

This is fantastic. I hope that there are methods of climate control in the future (Air conditioner, jump in a pool, drink cold or hot drinks) to try to suffer through a season if you're committed. I want to try to survive in a Korean winter in my shorts by just chugging hot tea and suffering.

# pastel crypt For school will bad weather conditions have an impact on school and work days? W...

Honestly, sudden negative weather events could be really cool. Doesn't need to be tragic or destructive but if you're in the middle of an intense snowstorm for example (as many parts of Canada have been doing not so great lately xD) it could be interesting to find out your kids don't have school the next day, or maybe your boss tells you to stay home, or maybe it means there's less people outside so if you have your own business, you can choose to stay closed if you don't think it'd be worth it.

On the other hand if there's jobs that would thrive on snowy weather, maybe those would be the opposite in those circumstances. I think it could be fun to have an option for events such as these. Or week-long heavy rains and such.

Could be fun to see an uptick in kids hanging out outside even if it's a Wednesday if there's a lot of snow, I think it'd add a layer of realism that I honestly can't remember seeing in other Simulation games, without ruining your gameplay at all. In fact, if you're just playing a 20yo living their life, trying to get promoted and such, it'd just be a detail; passing by a park where a bunch of kids are playing when on one of your normal days, it'd have next to nobody.

I think these kinds of details make games stand out without heavily affecting the gameplay.

Hi, Kjun!

The weather here in Portugal has been pretty bipolar! We're still in winter, but there's been more sun than rain. Even so, the cold is holding strong. When it does rain, it's a bit intense, so it's a real weather rollercoaster.

About the seasons and temperature system in inZOI, I think the level of realism you're bringing is amazing! The more impact the weather has on the Zois' lives, the better. I love the idea that how they dress can affect their health and well-being. This unpredictability makes everything more interesting, just like in inZOI. The seasons and temperature system really need to reflect this realistic variation. Cold isn’t just a number – it’s something you feel in your bones, something that affects how Zois behave. Strong winds could make a Zoi huddle up and pull their coat tighter, while a sunny but chilly day could bring a momentary sense of relief. The impact of the weather needs to be more than just visual; it should be felt.

If there were unexpected weather events in inZOI that could disrupt the Zois’ daily routines—like a Zoi having a planned trip canceled due to bad weather—it would make everything even more realistic. A sudden storm that completely changes their plans would make the game feel even more dynamic. After all, the weather is never 100% predictable, and that uncertainty is what makes everything feel more alive.

Climate Adaptation and Its Influence on the Daily Lives of ZOIs

ZOIs in Inzoi don’t just live in a dynamic world—they also feel the effects of the climate around them. Depending on the region they live in and the time they spend in a particular environment, they can gradually adapt to extreme temperatures. A ZOI who has always lived in the cold, for example, would develop greater resistance to low temperatures, while one from a hot climate might struggle more when traveling to colder locations.

I will try to reshare my thoughts from my post that I made here:

Additional Parameters and Mechanics:

  1. Influence of Humidity and Wind:
Cold wind increases the chance of getting sick, even if the temperature isn't too low.
High humidity in cold weather accelerates hypothermia.

  2. New Parameter: "Immunity"
Each Zoi will have their own immunity level, which can be improved.
Immunity increases with a healthy diet, exercise, and good sleep. People with good immunity can wear shorts while it's snowing.
Immunity decreases with stress, poor nutrition, lack of sleep, and prolonged exposure to cold.

  3. Symptoms of Illnesses:
Mild Cold: Runny nose, occasional coughing, reduced energy.
Moderate Illness: Fever, weakness, consistently bad mood.
Severe Illness: High fever, inability to run, slow walking, occasional loss of consciousness.

  4. Treatment Options:
Home Remedies: Tea with honey, a warm shower, rest.
    Medication: Fever reducers, vitamins, antibiotics.
Hospital Treatment: IV fluids, check-ups, possible multi-day recovery.

  5. Disease Spread:
Sick Zoi can infect others (e.g., in crowded places or public transport).
Flu outbreaks may occur in certain seasons.

  6. Heat Retention and Clothing:
Clothes that get wet (e.g., from rain) lose their insulation.

  7. Summer Overheating:
In hot weather, Zoi will sweat more and need to drink water frequently.
Prolonged exposure to the sun without a hat may cause heatstroke.

  8. Illness Consequences:
After a severe illness, Zoi may remain weakened for some time.

Complications are possible (e.g., if an illness is left untreated, it may become chronic).

😲 Wow, we're actually getting weather in the base game here!

On the subject of clothing, I think the best option is to have an outfit category, and allow players who want the extreme to remove their filters to choose all clothes. Yes, this is exactly what the Sims does, but otherwise you'll need to add weather statistics to every clothing piece in your create a Zoi screen and it might get a little busy. I know some things are obvious in how they'd effect the weather, but other things are more in-between, and when we add custom outfits, it can be dependant on the creator checking a box, most users won't have the skills to double check it, anyway.
I do find your plans for how wearing the wrong thing can effect your Zois to be nice. It's much more realistic them becoming sick, than literally freezing into a block of ice, like the Sims. I ask, will you animate our zoi's to shiver in the cold? Sunburn is another potential side effect of the reverse.
What about more extreme weather, like thunderstorms? Or an effect of the weather on belongings, or even structures?

Weather being as real as possible sounds great. Need a tv weather report for the next couple of days so can be prepared!

I read above about wind affecting yard items etc...weather report would be good, know to move stuff inside etc, cover furniture in the rain.

Shoveling snow would be a great idea as well as deicing the car etc! Possibilities of it all is really cool to think about!

For me with the clothes thing...just a lot of options for clothes for cold weather/warm weather. Just a couple of things limits expression, so the more there is the better. In other games you find a nice outfit and never change it. Imnsure some clothing items are rarely used. So to have a reason to get changed etc often i think is great! For users not wanting it at all an option to turn off the weather settings fully would work

Really loving the seasonal variety for the different cities and zois that can get sick if they're not dressed appropriately! I would personally also like an indoor temperature control system, but I'm not sure if that'd be too micromanage-y for some people. It would allow for us to create some interesting stories if a family can't afford proper heating and air conditioning, or their energy bill!

I hope we can't easily manipulate the seasons. For example during summer you can edit city and make it to rain or thunderstorms but not change the current season to winter or make it snow. Make the weather appropriate to the current season.

shadow musk
#

I am excited to try your weather systems, but I think it will be best to leave an option to turn it off. For builders, they will use a few tools to turn off rain and snow, to change the season, or the time of day. It'll make it easier to get the perfect picture of a lot. Also, when you add gardening, I imagine seasons will effect this. It might be annoying to some players not to be able to grow all of their veggies at the same time. A toggle to turn off the seasons might be a good idea.

I think as long as there is a way to tell what clothes would be appropriate for the weather, like a filter or tag or something like that, then that will give us enough freedom to let our zois be styled the way we choose.

Maybe an option to set the world to one season until that setting is turned off.

Also, do the seasons become longer if your zoi's live longer? I personally enjoy having lots of time throughout the life stages of my characters, and like to have the seasons reflecting that by being longer too.

Maybe a fix for that is instead of the seasons length being relative to your zoi's lifespans, just some settings for changing both.

Down the line I would also like to see some season appropriate activities. Like skating, skiing, snowboarding, and sledding during the winter. While there could be some summer activities like beach volleyball, water skiing/boarding, and tubing.

Maybe you could make it to where your zoi can wear shorts or skirts in the winter as long as they are layered with leggings or something like that (I’m not sure how that would work, but the leggings would basically work as pants), but overall, I love the idea of having consequences for the weather and not being able to control it. I am so happy ya'll are including seasons in addition to weather, in the game! I think a way around being able to dress zois however you want would be to add some special reward traits (I guess you could call them that) in the meow store for zois who are always cold, always hot, or maybe impervious to weather. Zois who are always cold would feel most comfortable in cold weather clothing no matter what the season or weather is. Zois with an always hot trait could be the opposite and always want to wear shorts. And then zois impervious to weather would wear whatever they wanted without getting ill. Also, yes I want weather to be as realistic as you can make it.

civic folio
#

It would be really cool if we had a weather news channel and app that Zoi could check to see the forecasts for the following days!

Maybe even adding some more extreme weather occurrences like snow storms and heavy winds, which might result in school for Zoi being cancelled for the day? Imagine a child Zoi watching the news and finding out there’s no school then doing a celebratory “yay!” 😂

Stuff like that would really add an extra level of immersion to this.

Speaking of immersion, Zoi having to shovel snow, rake leaves, etc would also be lovely to see!

Yes, that'd be great. Zois would react to the hot or cold weather. They could not before when game testers played the game. I only saw that their clothes got wet due to rain. But, when snow appears they did not react to the coldness when wearing summer clothes. Winter still is here, but spring is just around the corner. 🙂

I prefer realism: an outfit category for rainy weather, one for cold weather, and possibly even one for hot weather, if you want to implement heatwaves later in development.

On a related note: if you want to implement cold and general pathogen/virus simulation, remember that it’s NOT cold temperatures that cause diseases like the common cold (a fairly common misconception), but rather, diseases tend to be MORE TRANSMISSIBLE during winter, because people are staying indoors in close breathing proximity to one another (being in the outdoor air can actually reduce the risk of transmitting airborne pathogens, also masks may help). It would be neat to see ZOI behavior change during cold temperatures: non-household selected ZOIs in the world could be more likely to spawn in while carrying pathogens, which our ZOIs could then catch and spread to other household members, causing them to miss work, possibly even die. There could be a slider to make viruses tend to be less or more deadly, so we could simulate some particular nasty winter seasons and plagues!

Also since we can layer clothing, can I suggest maybe giving each article of clothing a hidden warmth level so that if your zoi can still wear a cute outfit as long as they have enough layers on. For example, a cocktail dress might have +1 warmth, but when paired with boots (+3 warmth) and leggings (+2) warmth, they can still go outside on a mild winter day and be fine. And depending on the temperature outside, you could have a range of what level of warmth for all the characters clothing combined, would be a good range to keep them from getting sick.

It's -2 to 1 celsius here currently. We had the first snow in the past months! Personally, I love the ideas already mentioned - realism is the way to go, it's a life simulator after all Psycat_Blush

Animations of the zois outside could add a lot of charm into the game and make it feel like the zois are actually living (probably something you considered already). So not only going to for instance read a book on the bench. Walking while talking in pairs (if it was possible, I just need to see a couple/parent with a kid walking hand in hand), walking hurriedly talking on a phone, children playing in the snow, some young zois sitting down on steps, leaning against the wall and talking, office workers having a break outside, a zoi hanging off a jacket over their shoulder if it stops raining... Very random, but I'd love to see taxis spawning randomly in a few places (or when called).

If some zois travelled by cars or you considered placing in parking lots, maybe zois scraping windows or shoveling snow from their pavement. Zois slipping on ice... When it's hot, zois jogging and stopping occasionally to catch breath/removing sweat from their foreheads, flower vendors, a kid chasing butterflies or flying kites, picnics in green space. Now imagine randomly seeing a zoi carrying flowers (they're going to give it to their partner) or a teenager picking flowers for their bouquet, that'd be so sweet!

If there was autumn, leaves could pile up with some children jumping in them or hopping in puddles. Some hot drinks stalls or rather seasonal changes in cafes, if they will be present at some point (in winter you won't buy that fruit smoothie, but will get hot chocolate instead).

The idea that each city should have its own weather and seasonal changes is simply amazing! I'd love to see countries represented accurately, so that living in each city can feel authentic and unique

I would prefer the realism. I wouldn’t want to see zois walking around in tank tops when it’s the middle of winter, there should be season specific clothing. (Coats in the winter, tank tops for the summer)

Maybe when we’re cresting our zoi’s and we configure their everyday, formal, swimwear, etc, you could add an option for us to create a “cold weather” and “warm weather” outfit so we have the choice to customise both for both occasions. our zois depending on the weather would change into the relative outfits if the weather was extremely cold or extremely hot.

I'd love it if we could create and everyday outfit, which we wear indoors and outdoors if the temperature is not too low or too high by default. Then a hot weather and cold weather outfit would be cool, that we wear by default according to the temperature.
We should be able to make shorts our cold weather outfit, but then we will have to suffer the consequences. So people don't get confused, maybe a short pop up in create a zoi like "Are you sure you want to wear this for cold weather? Maybe you should take a jacket" or something like that would be good, so players know that their clothes will have effects with weather and seasons.

Also I would love if we're able to completely change the seasons for each city. You mentioned that Bliss Bay will be warm all year long, and I'd love it if we could change the "normal seasons" to "winter all the time" if we want. I like that we can also change the weather temporarily, that's cool😊
Thank you for your post! I'm very excited for the game😊

climate here generally varies from 30 to 40° celsius in summer to -12° celsius during winter, you start to notice when the windows on cars constantly need cleaning to see outside because it's cold, if it affected the handling of vehicles and walking of zois it could be quite immersive*

Hi Kjun!
Here in France, the weather is rather gray at the moment, but it varies from day to day Psycat_Stare_1
Here are a few ideas: Psycat_ThumbsUp
If a Zoi finds himself in the rain, he can take shelter or use an umbrella
When it's hot, he may seek shade
Seasonal accessories :
Gloves, scarves or snow boots
Weather forecast:
The ability to plan outfits in advance with alerts such as storm in 2 hours or heatwave tomorrow
In winter, add lit fireplaces
In summer, add fans or air conditioners

I like the idea of being able to customise the seasons available for each town. (Like how it works in The Sims 2)

Also on another note I hope you will include hail as well. I think having it possible to have very foggy days would also be nice.

Also during the winter along with snow it would be interesting if the roads could freeze over and cause difficulty getting to work.

Hi! This is a great idea.

I really like the idea, but my only question is will the other zois that aren’t apart of our family go outside wearing shorts in snow? I would assume not, but just in case. I hope these effects apply to all zois within’ the city, and even the smart NPC zois also dress accordingly

Oh, please go for as much realism as possible here! And it would make many of us happy if there (sometime in the future) could be winter-themed worlds with Helicopter Alpine Rescue Teams (As in Switzerland, Scandinavia and Canada) rescuing Zoi’s that didn’t dress warm enough for that mountain-hike when the temperature drops even more at night. Or helping out with other emergencies since all the roads are suddenly snowed in after a heavy snowfall. If you want to take this to and extreme there’re avalanches and other sudden weather-related incidents that calls for intervention by a SAR (Search & Rescue)-team. I don’t know about everyone else – but all these constant fires going on in lifesim-games could need some alternative fun game-play in form of winter-related accidents. And don’t forget about cars in winter-time please – I’m thinking winter-tires and/or snow chains in snowy-conditions – believe me, no Zoi would get far in reality on summer tires. x)
Also there could be winter-sports of all sorts – including ice hockey, skiing and snowboarding! And thank you again for creating such an amazing game!

Oh thank you for adding seasons!!! And I love that you’ve set the weather according to the location. Hopefully there will be umbrellas for rainy days too. I’m from northern Italy, it’s kind of cold here in winter and it even snows sometimes (not so much as it used to in the past, though), but in summer it’s crazy hot 🥵 that’s why we need our daily gelato 😝 Thanks again for seasons and seasonal clothing, I was looking forward to it! Ciao!

shrewd barn
# shrewd barn Hi, Kjun! The weather here in Portugal has been pretty bipolar! We're still in ...

Natural Reactions to Weather

When exposed to extreme conditions, ZOIs display physical reactions that make the experience more realistic:

Intense cold: They may shiver, rub their hands together, blow on them to warm up, or even walk hunched over to shield themselves from the wind.

Extreme heat: They visibly sweat, use a fan or their hands to cool off, seek shade, and drink water more frequently.

Weather Affecting ZOI Needs
Temperature changes also influence essential aspects of daily life:

Hydration and Energy: On hot days, ZOIs will need to drink more water to avoid dehydration. In the cold, they will burn more energy to stay warm.

Appropriate Clothing: Wearing the wrong clothes can have consequences—wearing too little in winter may lead to colds, while dressing too heavily in the heat can increase the risk of heatstroke.

Weather-Related Illnesses: Prolonged exposure to cold can result in colds, flu, or even hypothermia. Excessive heat may lead to heat exhaustion or severe dehydration.

Interaction with the Environment

The climate also directly affects how ZOIs interact with the world around them:

On rainy days, wet surfaces could cause them to slip if they aren’t wearing the right footwear.

In winter, snow may leave damp footprints when entering a house and even make walking on soft terrain more difficult.

Climate Impact on Urban Life

Seasons influence city life, bringing special events, transportation challenges, and changes in commerce:

Seasonal Events: Winter festivals with ice skating and hot drinks, while summer brings beach parties and outdoor sports.

Mobility and Transportation: Cities with harsh winters may have snow-covered streets, making travel more difficult.

Extreme heat can affect electronics, causing devices to break down faster.

Agriculture and Economy: Seasonal foods may become more expensive or harder to find, changing trade dynamics and the culinary choices available to ZOIs.

Realistic Weather and Zoi Traits
Weather Presets:
o Include two presets: one for the city and one customizable for creativity in city design.
Zoi Adaptation:
o Traits based on origin or environment (e.g., Bliss Bay Zois tolerate heat but are sensitive to cold).
o Alternatively, traits develop over time as Zois adapt to their everyday environment.
Outfit & Weather Effects:
o Toggle option: Decide if Zois are affected by weather and clothing.
o Editable tags for outfit suitability (e.g., hot, cold, rainy weather).
o Possible point system for weather-appropriate outfits (e.g., boots add 2 points, coats 3, etc.).
Emotional & Behavioral Weather Reactions
• Zois could have mood changes based on weather they like/dislike (e.g., rain lovers feel excited; others may feel scared).
• Weather-based activities (e.g., building a snowman, dancing in the rain) improve mood.
• Preferences influence behavior:
o Sunny weather lovers go outside; snow lovers catch snowflakes.
• Zois sensitive to specific weather may struggle during vacations or daily life.
Job Choices & Building Mode
• Weather preferences affect job selection (e.g., Zois disliking heat avoid outdoor jobs).
• Building mode weather control: Adjust weather to match themes or specific builds.

This is an interesting question...

From the character creator demo, I only saw one outfit preset per Zoi. Yeah, the simple solution would be taking clothing layers off to accommodate the weather, but I feel like that wouldn't work well. As someone living in a colder climate, I tend to scoff at any outerwear with zippers open and short pants for cold weather.

So, simple solution would be like The Sims does: multiple outfit presets for each weather. Hot weather clothing, cold weather clothing. That way, players can put whatever outfit they want without restricting creativity. Yet in that case, it would be great to mark some outfit pieces to be removed indoors. For example, people take off their coat when going indoors. Or swap the clothing: coat outdoors, sweater indoors. One The Sims 4 complaint is that sims wear outfits designed for outdoors indoors, so I thing InZoi could deal with the problem.

And yeah, let us assign multiple outfit presets to one Zoi that we don't have to go to Create-a-Zoi to edit the outfit in each situation. Or even have each preset marked for what occasions. For example, this preset is for sleeping and being home, this preset is working and formal events etc. Like Tiny Lives does.

I am from Southern California and we get warm weather or rain. I would like the option for Zois to feel the temperatures. Also I do hope we can custom our own weather and it stays how we set it unless we change it. For example I may want rain all day since I love storms. Or in summer I want it sunny since where I live rarely gets rain in summer. Also I do hope we eventually get holidays to go along with the seasonal weather change. In Christmas time I would regardless want to play in snow. Hopefully in create a Zoi we get boots! 😍 I mentioned liking storms so I do hope we will be able to see rain and snow through windows. Nothing is like enjoying a good rain storm from the comfort of your own home 😊 some nice details would be option to play in rain puddles, build a snowman and have snowball fights. But to really answer this question I think we all have our own prefrences when it comes to weather. This is why I would hope to see how we manually set the weather to stay till we manually change it because I don't feel how we set it stays long enough. I am really looking forward to early access next month even if these changes take place after March 28th. Thank you guys for already doing such a great job because we already have a amazing game to look forward to soon ❤️

Hey, this sounds awesome! I love that you’re taking weather realism to the next level—being able to manage the weather would be a super cool feature especially for builder that this way can choose right weather type for every build. ☀️❄️

But if inZOI lets us travel between cities, like living in Dowon and vacationing in Bliss Bay, where we naturally experience everything from chilly winters to sunny summers, then full control over the weather might not be absolutely essential.

It’s all about finding the right balance: keeping the immersive feel of realistic seasons while still having the freedom to experiment with our Zois’ outfits. 🧥👕

For me, experiencing different weather conditions just by hopping between cities really enhances the exploration and vacation vibe. Keep up the great work! 🎮

I think the change of climates is incredible for Realism, I believe it would be interesting depending on the climatic situation in which the world is, that this influenced the behavior of Zoi in his daily life, For example in the heat the zoi be a little more unwell feel more tired due to the high temperature, but when he goes to the beach or the pool or be present in an air conditioner this changes. I like the option of the Zois getting sick with the change in temperature. I would also like it to have more varieties of clothing that really represent extremely cold climates, and that we can also have uniforms whether at work or in schools or colleges that also represent the current climate.

I think it would also be interesting in the cold or hot option, to drink hot drinks and refreshing drinks to help lower and balance the temperature of the Zoi. I love it when I wake up in the morning with a coffee and the weather outside is windy, with a slightly cold wind and the trees are swaying and I can hear the sound they make and also the sound of the winds. , I think the game would be really beautiful with a Weather option like this, to go to a cafe and pass the time.🍃 ☕ 🌬️

I think maybe some kind of trait or customization that altered how much heat or cold tolerance a zoi had when deciding what to wear would be useful. Sometimes you do see people wearing shorts even though it's cold or being more wrapped up when it's warmer. It should still lean towards what you would expect but there's always outliers.

Part 1

I would like the game to have fixed seasons where the temperature cannot be changed and remains continuous, but I would also like the game to offer the option of having temperature periods in case the player wants to play for only a certain period, like a single season of the year. Each season could include seasonal activities, such as:

  • During Winter
  • Skiing on snow and gaining this new skill
  • Learning the ability to ice skate alone and in pairs
  • Building a snowman
  • Building an igloo
  • Drinking hot chocolate or tea
  • Seasonal dishes
  • Seasonal fruits
  • Making a bonfire to keep warm
  • Beaches or lakes freezing over
  • Driving becomes more difficult in winter because cars slip
  • Needing to use chains on car wheels to prevent skidding
  • Themed festivals, including the one in Dowon
  • Snow and cold-weather animals
  • Experiencing a snowstorm
  • Ice fishing
  • Gaining the ability to create ice sculptures, which melt in the heat
  • Gaining the ability to practice snowboarding
  • Experiencing allergies and coughing
  • Having fewer customers at the ice cream shop and many at the coffee shop
  • Ice skating competitions
  • Getting vaccinated against flu or allergies
  • Cute winter coats for babies
  • During Summer
  • Getting heatstroke (getting sick and dying)
  • A thermostat to adjust indoor temperature
  • Air conditioning to control the temperature
  • Seasonal fruits
  • Clothes getting wet from sweat
  • Storms of varying intensity, with many lightning strikes that can damage appliances
  • Higher electricity bills if air conditioning or heating is turned on
  • Hailstorms
  • Gaining the ability to build sandcastles
  • Gaining the ability to do windsurfing
  • Canoe racing competitions
  • High ice cream consumption and few customers at the coffee shop
  • Lightning rods
zois struck by lightning will have a very high risk of dying
  • Trees hit by lightning will burn, as well as objects

Part 2

  • Wind levels—at the highest, a Zoi can fall from the strong gusts, and a hurricane may even occur, with an animation showing the city getting messy because of it
  • During intense storms, zois will not go out in their cars due to fear
  • After heavy rain or strong winds, swimming pools will become dirty
  • Cars will be cleaned after it rains
  • Staying at a resort or renting a house in the future city of Cahaya will be much more expensive in the summer
  • During Spring
  • Faster growth of flowers, some vegetables, and trees
  • Increased appearance of insects and birds
  • New ability to create perfumes by mixing flower essences
  • Bees produce a lot of honey in the spring
  • During Autumn
  • A wide variety of fruits
  • Various local festivals and competitions, such as lantern and kite festivals in Dowon
    Halloween in Blissbay
  • Day of the Dead in a future city in Mexico
  • Climate Preferences or Dislikes
  • Some love summer, but others hate it
  • Some love winter, but others hate it
  • Some Zois feel colder than others
  • Zois who go outside in winter without proper clothing or in swimwear will immediately freeze
  • Sunscreen application
  • Practicing slackline
  • Jump rope
  • When winter suddenly starts, Zois who are not wearing appropriate clothing will catch a cold, and the illness may develop into pneumonia
  • Some Zois are afraid of storms
  • Zois who unexpectedly throw snowballs at another Zoi will have a reduction in karma
  • New Careers
  • Farmer
  • Meteorologist
  • Perfumer
  • Beekeeper
  • Gardener

We need realism, and honestly, there should be a tab where you can choose your Zoi's favorite weather. That way, even if it’s hot, they’ll be happy because they prefer it over spring. On the other hand, if my Zoi hates the cold and is completely undressed in the snow, they should get stressed, and their health should decline even faster.

I really hope you create this weather preference tab, which would affect their personality. Kisses to the team!

Now, for a KJUN Concerns about improving Zoi interactions:
Do they already have group conversations? If not, please add this feature! Also, consider adding a goodbye function when a conversation ends, so they don’t just stand around like statues in the middle of the street.

I have said many times before and I'm gladly saying it again Inzoi needs the 4 seasons. spring, summer, fall, and winter. We need Christmas time, Halloween. Valentines day. And it should work like the sims 4 where it changes automatically and you should have a option to decide how long each season is. And a little 🗒️ saying in a few days Christmas time is coming up. Prepare your zoi's for a great time together or summer time is coming up. It's pool party so we always have something to look forward for each season (again automatically)

I can’t believe how you guys keep making us this excited every single time! Do you want to kill me from all this hype? I seriously can’t wait! The game is launching during Eid, but guess what? I won’t even celebrate Eid until I play inZOI! Hahaha!

The idea is absolutely brilliant, but I have a suggestion—how about adding a jacket to Zoi’s inventory so they can put it on when it gets cold? Kind of like the umbrella in The Sims, where you can choose to use it manually or let the character handle it on their own.

Thank you for making every Friday exciting with all these amazing updates. Your hard work truly deserves appreciation—you guys are incredible! Much love to the whole team working on this masterpiece!

I love that clothing and weather are tied together!! Having presets will be key. Hopefully we can have a few different presets per category so our options can rotate from day to day. Being able to change the weather settings in City Edit sounds fun, but it feels weird that those changes wouldn't affect clothing. So if you make it cold in Bliss Bay - the NPCs will still be wearing shorts? It seems they should remain tied together. That's the only thing that feels a bit off to me right now. But love love love that weather is being included in the BASE GAME.

Could there be an option to maybe manually set for how many in game days you want a specific weather before it goes back to the seasonal weather?
Also, for later development it would be great to have holidays tied to the seasons, maybe different ones in each city if that’s possible (like in Korea there are holidays that other countries don’t have for example) 🫶🏼

Around here some people do wear shorts in cold weather- I don’t recommend it but they do. Our school district actually has had to send emails out telling kids to dress appropriately because kids were wearing shorts in 20-30 degree weather. Some adults - not me - do this too. I think you should be able to change the weather for the world and clothes for your Zois but NPC Zoi clothes should be randomized.

I'm going to echo what a lot of people have said here in that The Sims got this one right, let there be a Cold Weather and Hot Weather clothing category. And those should be restricted to clothing that fits it. So no bikinis in the Cold Weather category.

As for weather related jobs, I'm actually thinking that with all the roads we have, a Road Technician of some kind would be great. Someone to drive the salt-spreaders and snow plows in the winter, or street sweepers in the summer. Maybe even have road work where a road is closed due to maintenance especially in the spring and autumn. The Zois doing that work could be a career.

Just to sum it up:

Job: Road Technician
Spring: Fix potholes, pave roads, fix broken stoplights and such.
Summer: Fix broken stoplights, sweep the streets, emergency repairs.
Autumn: Sweep streets for leaves, fix potholes, fix broken stoplights and such.
Winter: Plow snow, salt streets, fix broken stoplights, and such.

Basically, a career that has different tasks depending on the season.

And yes, there should be ice physics on unsalted streets when there's snow. Make driving the car harder. Maybe even have cold weather driving as a skill for Zoi, because if Bliss Bay is suddenly hit with several inches of snow, I expect a lot of traffic accidents since no-one has any snow driving experience.

One of the things I found difficult in the Sims was how fast they moved through seasons and holidays. I'm very much looking for the longer life of zois where I can spend more time building out their life stages and experiences. I'm hopeful that the way seasons are implemented will also feel more natural.
I know not everyone will agree, but I would like for at least children and up to be able to experience different seasons before they age up, without needing to have each season being on a few days long. It would be good for a child to have memories building a snow man but then also having a family beach day, swimming in the sea during the summer before they become a preteen

I personally would like it better for outerwear to be layerable like you mentioned. So the zoi has their usual outfit then they put on a raincoat if it's raining (or get wet if they didn't put the raincoat in their bag or something. I think it would be amazing for gameplay to include traits, events, and activities based on the season or weather! Here are some fun ideas:

🔹 Weather-Specific Traits – Some Zois could have unique traits like Cold-Resistant or Heat-Lover, allowing them to handle extreme temperatures better. This way, players can still style their Zois freely without too many restrictions!

🌍 Weather Zones in Cities – Microclimates would add so much depth! Maybe Bliss Bay could have a cooler mountain area, while Dowon has urban heat zones. This would allow players to dress their Zois differently even within the same city!

🎉 Seasonal Events & Activities – Imagine winter festivals in Bliss Bay or unexpected summer heatwaves in Dowon! Players could enjoy snowball fights, ice skating, or even beach days in cooler months—making the world feel even more alive!

👗 Dynamic Clothing & Accessories – Clothing should adapt to the weather too! Zois could automatically put on jackets when it gets cold, use umbrellas in the rain, or switch to lighter outfits during a heatwave. This would make the experience feel even more immersive!

⚙️ Temperature Tolerance Settings – A customizable setting would be super useful! Some players might love full realism, while others may prefer a more relaxed approach where Zois aren’t as affected by weather.

This way, realism stays immersive without limiting creativity too much! What do you think? 😊

Onto the topic at hand - I do love me a nice realism so would be nice to have it implemented for seasonal outfits if that's possible.

Additionally, what I would like to suggest is to add a "tag" for outfits, so that later on when creative people start creating custom outfits (and perhaps mods related to weather), they will be able to easily designate outfits for hot weathers and temperatures like in summer and for winter by adding a "tag" to the outfit pieces, which then the game will recognize and act accordingly to the current state of the weather and temperature.

  • The game could have greenhouses to protect plants that are not resistant to cold
  • Seasonal fruits will be cheaper
  • Zois will be able to fry marshmallows on the campfire
  • Water in fountains will freeze in extreme cold
  • Swimming pools will freeze on very cold days
  • Food spoils faster in the summer outdoors
  • Dead Zois struck by lightning, if they do not achieve the necessary level of karma, may return with a lot of energy and causing nearby appliances to possibly be damaged
  • If zois die from the cold, approaching living zois can make them feel cold or tremble
  • Heat-dead zois (heatstroke) if they come close to living zois, they can transmit the sensation of heat
  • Hail rain can damage some plants
  • Raincoats can be used on rainy days.
  • When giving syrup to children they may hate the taste
  • In the future, when it is possible to enter the beaches, cases of drowning will be much higher in the summer in Bliss Bay

I wonder, some people are more heat intolerant or tolerant than others, and same with the cold.

Would it be possible to add features like this? Like a random chance that Zoi can have variable weather tolerances/intolerances, either by growing up in a specific location or random chance?

I think there should be 2 separate primary modes of gameplay. A sandbox mode where you have complete freedom over these aspects (eg. weather/attire manipulation, create without money, freely adjust personalities, etc...) and a "main gameplay" mode where everything is set in the game mechanics and choices have active consequences (eg. if you have your Zoi wear layers and a heavy coat during a heat wave, they can be hospitalized or meet lethal consequences). I can find myself running with two saves, one being the challenge of the intended gameplay loop with the mechanics, and one being a sandbox let me play god with no consequences.

I would absolutely love there to be functional clothing stores (I know they're in the game, so maybe there's hope?). Mannequin displays, changing rooms, cards, discounts. Players could design their own clothes. Same for barber/hairdresser. It'd be lovely if we could actually GO there and change the hairstyle (of course with an option to just do both in CAS for free, if someone would rather have it less realistic). In the tourist spots there could be small shops selling souvenirs (or the usual stuff they sell, like hats, figures, small decorations). There could be a person selling umbrellas on a rainy day. But why am I even putting it here?

If we got to that level of detail in the game, imagine fashion trends changing by season with displays (seasonal collections), end-of-season sales, seasonal store decorations (or for events) & background music. I wish I could see the whole world responsive to the environment at some point in the future, and that's just one of the examples. Another one could be rough sea during a thunderstorm, the experience in each city would feel unique if we add more environment x weather/season effects

A small thing, but maybe sunburn? (sunscreen, protective clothing, and hats could lessen the effects)

People here suggest TV weather program, what about simply a weather app? We could get phone notifications every "week" of the weather forecast

I would like a feature where we can keep our custom weather settings indefinitely. It would give a lot of freedom to customize our world how we'd like on a personal level.

I'd love to see more realism regarding to weather. Such as character faces getting red from very cold temperatures and wind. Ways for zoi to warm up or cool off by adding/removing clothing, & turning on the AC or opening windows in hot weather, similarly turning on heat or fireplaces in cold. I think there should also be room as another commentor mentioned above about how some people in real life wear shorts in the winter time (I see it a lot where I am) be it exercising or just because, or long sleeves in the summertime and they're not hot nor cold given these temperatures. I'm not sure how you'd implement this maybe this could be part of a genetic trait system?

Driving and Cars: Other ways I'd like to see realism for weather would be for cars and new driving conditions drivers would need to be cautious of. If it's raining heavy or snowing heavy maybe they would need to pull over until the storm lets up (or you could keep driving and ignore caution), ice forming on the roads in the winter could cause car accidents and possible skidding. Emotional states of fear and anxiousness could happen when characters are driving in these conditions.

World Effects: I'd like to see lightning and thunder more and it possibly causing black outs (especially when you have rural worlds!) and the like could be said if a bad snow storm happens. I'd like to see snow become thicker and accumulating on the ground in height like 6-8 inches of snow. Beaches and other bodies of water freezing over. Frosted glass on doors and windows from cold. Weather combination transitions making for dangerous weather: rain turning into hail, rain turning into hurricane, or snow turns to rain=ice, etc. Seeing snow melt as temperatures increase again would be nice. More or less people out in certain weather conditions.

#

Interactions I'd like to see:

  • Offering coat/hoodie to person if they don't have one on or if theyre cold, especially those chilly summer nights. This could become an item in inventory they'd need to return later or keep.
  • Ability to warm another person's hands up by breathing hot air on them, this doesn't have to be a romantic gesture but if one character happens to have a crush on another character, it could be an advantage when it happens.
  • Shovel driveway and offer to shovel neighbor's driveway
  • Characters being able to hold on to others to walk in snow so they don't fall
  • Being able to watch the rain/snow fall from window whether it's standing up or sitting down

Clothing: It'd be nice if each clothing items could have internal scores for how warm or cold a piece of clothing would be for certain weather, and added perks to certain clothes like in real life. Examples: Winter boots= non slip, good for snow. Coats= good for temperatures under 10 degrees Farenheit.

**Weather Channel and Radio: ** I know there's the possibility of having a phone app but it'd be nice to have a dedicated weather channel on tv or the car radio announcing bad weather and daily forecast.

Stores:

  • Stores offering seasonal clothing we can buy.
  • Random Closures due to weather and some stores closing early from their regular hours.

Build Tools architecture: I'd love to see more fireplaces styles, more architecture styles for building homes including different types of doors/windows/furniture etc.

Food: Food and beverages having the ability to effect our characters. Such as food having the ability to warm up or cool off our characters. Depending on the season at hand characters would crave certain types of food more like soups in winter versus lighter foods in the summer.

The presets should have an outfit for every season/temperature, and the Zois should take care of choosing the right one themselves.
I've been annoyed no end by my Sims freezing almost to death because they stayed in their pajamas although it was a freezing winter day. They keep shivering, but don't get up from the chair to go and change. Every single time having to stop whatever I'm doing to click "Change outfit" is super annoying. This is something that they should be doing on their own, just as they are changing into pajamas when they go to bed.

# cunning nacelle How's the weather like where you are? Depending on your location, the difference...

I think there should be an option for players to be able to choose between dressing their zois freely and realistic weather.

But realistic weather should be an option anyhow.

I'd also definitely love to have a feature to keep the custom weather settings set in city edit mode too.

Also, we should be able to pick/create multiple outfits for our zois for every occasion, such as everyday, formal, workout, pool, sleep, party, work, warm weather, cool weather, etc. Similar to like how it is in the Sims.
And I think we should also be able to save these outfits as presets.

I love your suggestions! They would add more realism and depth to the seasons and interactions between ZOIs! Details like windmills and wind chimes moving faster due to strong winds, or clothes on the clothesline becoming damp and cold because of the snow, would be an interesting addition as well! I would also love to see water floods, a tree split in half due to a storm, or animals reacting realistically to the seasons—like birds drinking water from rivers, lakes, or fountains during hot weather.

If the Zois walked barefoot for too long on a hot sandy beach, they might start complaining, hopping from one foot to another or waving their feet to try to ease the heat. Some could think things like, "Ouch, ouch, ouch! It's way too hot!" and even run to a shady or cooler spot. Additionally, they could leave footprints in the sand, which would soon disappear with the wind.

On heavy rainy days, walking barefoot would be quite an uncomfortable experience. Zois might react to the cold, wet ground by shaking their feet to try to dry them off or exclaiming, "Ugh, so cold!" as they walk. If they were wearing unsuitable shoes, such as sneakers or leather boots, they would feel even more discomfort, complaining about their soaked feet. On slippery surfaces, the storm could increase the risk of near falls, causing the Zois to lose balance for a moment before regaining control.

On the other hand, some Zois might love the rain! Depending on their personality, some could run outside to play, spin around, run, and even jump in puddles, enjoying the moment. Others, more sensitive to the cold or dampness, would prefer to find shelter as quickly as possible, trying to stay dry.

In winter, with intense cold and snow, Zois would need appropriate clothing. If they were barefoot or wearing very thin shoes, they would start shivering, rubbing their hands together, and walking more slowly in an attempt to warm up. Being exposed to the cold for too long without protection could even cause their feet to turn red or purple, making the Zoi visibly uncomfortable.

In the city, extreme heat would also bring challenges. If a Zoi walked barefoot on hot asphalt, they would quickly feel discomfort, hopping from one foot to another and looking for grass to relieve the heat. If they stayed in that situation for too long, they might even develop blisters or small burns on their feet, making them even more uncomfortable.🌞☔❄️🔥

I agree with what some others said. Have a toggle for realistic weather by location and then a option so we can set it to either always have all the seasons or lock it to one season so we can tell the stories we want.

It would also be nice with seasons to have more saved clothing options, so sets was saved by season. So say you have a everyday outfit but then you could have four versions, spring, summer, fall, and winter ones and the Zoi would use the one for the season it current is, unless we decided to override thier choice and pick something else.

Weather-related illnesses: If a Zoi spends too much time in the cold without proper clothing, they may catch a cold or even develop pneumonia. In extreme heat, they could suffer from heatstroke.

Variable recovery time: Depending on the severity, a Zoi may recover quickly at home or require more intensive medical care.

Recovery at home or in the hospital: Mild illnesses can be treated at home with rest and medication, while more serious cases may require hospitalization for a few days.

Support from family and medication: A Zoi can be cared for by family members and may need to take medication multiple times a day to speed up recovery.

Risk of death in extreme cases: If a Zoi ignores symptoms, doesn’t seek treatment, or avoids going to the hospital, the illness may worsen, increasing the risk of death.

  • Activist and benevolent Zois will be able to work doing volunteer services in winter, such as: Serving hot soup in shelters
  • Products related to seasons will be more expensive in stores when they are in season. For example: bikinis, swim trunks, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc...
  • When a shelter sends a message to a zoi asking for money to be donated to buy food or clothes for those most in need during the winter and zoi denies money and does not donate, this will affect your reputation and consequently your karma

Time Lapse Animations and Physics::

  • It would be interesting if there could be more time lapse animations needed for some interactions and for temperatures. Like if a lake/pond freezes over it should take days for the ice to melt away and the same could be said if you left an object outside.
  • Things could melt in hot weather like ice cream or a cake's frosting if left out.
  • Being able to use extreme cold temperatures as a way to keep some food from spoiling (if there no power) it could go into a preserve state.
  • Objects flying away like balls that are left on the ground other small objects (balloons, paper, hats, etc.)
  • If an electronic device or book is left outside in the rain it would become damaged
  • Leaving the car windows down during rain or snow would cause damage to car
  • Trees changing from green to orange/red/gold from summer to autumn transition
  • Grass changing color also from green to more tan/gold
  • Curtains in home swaying if windows are open, candles getting snuffed out as well
  • Hair and open coat styles blowing away from the body if wind is heavy

I think it's up to the player if they want to wear a t-shirt in the snow outside, they would have to deal with the consequences. I think inside clothes should be a bit more flexible though. So if it's cold outside but they have heating inside they can wear a t-shirt and be fine.

I feel like it should be a requirement when creating your Zoi. dracThink

Aside from picking out your outfit, I feel like the game should give the player a little heads up if they haven't chosen their summer and winter clothing for their Zoi(s). On top of that, if we're talking about dressing appropriately for the weather, hopefully there is an AC/heater control onto the wall for the homes. The Zoi(s) could automatically go and adjust the temperature from a control built into the wall, or maybe setting the temperature through their cellphone, being aware that there are apps to set your heater or AC like in real life.

The cellphone option to change the temperature for the house would maybe be treated as a secondary option, for example if there is either no temperature control built into the wall, or if they're in the middle of doing something else (watching T.V., working from home, etc.) could be an idea. But will always prioritise going over to the control on the wall if it's there if they aren't in the middle of something else. dracHuh

To give thoughts on your questions Kjun about how much to prioritize realism in weather vs. Full freedom to dress zois- To give importance to each, I think making this feature as an on/off setting would eliminate any worry of certain players not having options they desire in a game.
-That way, when setting is on, the world will run how you described, with weather and a zoi’s clothing choices affecting their health, (and, the zoi’s of a city will by default predominately wear clothing appropriate for the weather, So you’re seeing most people with jackets on in winter instead of many people wearing tank tops.)

  • While when setting is “off”, the zoi’s of a city could could still by default wear clothing predominately fitting to the season, for aesthetic reasons, but weather and clothing choices will not affect a zoi’s health. This way, you could make your zoi’s preset outfits be whatever you’d like, without having to consider if they are winter appropriate attire and thinking of your zoi’s health being affected by outfit choices.

Personally, playing the game, I would feel stressed with having to always be mindful of my zoi’s getting sick because they wear shorts in winter, so the “off” option would be much more relaxing gameplay for me.

This is an amazing game and I am so excited to support this game for the years to come, you guys are doing an incredible job, thank you for everything you do.

During heavy storms, power outages may occur in homes without a generator or backup power source. During this period, ZOIs would be left without electricity, internet, or a working refrigerator, forcing them to rely on candles, lanterns, or even seek shelter in public places that still have power. This could affect their mood, productivity when working remotely, and even cause food in the fridge to spoil!

🔹 Ability to buy a generator to prevent power outages.

🔹 Use of fireplaces, campfires, or candles for lighting.

🔹 Special events, such as ZOIs complaining on social media or going to a café with Wi-Fi to work.

🔹 Children and teenagers might feel happy about not having online classes.

Each child could have their own personality and preferences, influencing whether they enjoy the heat or the cold more.

The seasons could directly impact children's moods and desires. Depending on the weather, they might want to do different activities:

🌞 In summer and sunny days:

Spend more time outdoors, playing in parks, at the beach, or in pools.

Ask their parents to let them go out to ride bikes, play soccer, or have fun with friends.
Want to eat ice cream, drink cold juices, or even complain about the heat.

Feel more excited and full of energy to explore.

🌧️ In winter and rainy days:

Some children would want to play in the rain, jumping in puddles and having fun (while parents try to keep them inside).

Others would prefer staying indoors, watching cartoons, playing games, or reading books.

Some parents might forbid them from going out in the rain, afraid they might get sick.
Complain about the cold and ask for blankets, hot drinks, or even sleep more.

I live in the Caribbean so hot weather all day everyday😅 (except for the rainy season of course). Absolutely love the fact that weather varies from which city you're in! It helps the game feel more realistic in that way. I hope when it comes to snow, there's depth to the snow, possibly making it difficult to trek in it and drive in it. Maybe Zois can be snowed in making it impossible to leave the house and as such, they won't have work for that day and school for the little ones gets cancelled. (Can maybe add a snow shovel so Zois can scoop up some of the snow :]) For rainy weather, possible flooding can occur when there's heavy rain. In my post about giving the player the ability to open or close doors themselves, I mentioned that if the player leaves a window open and the Zoi's TV is right next to it, the rain can blow in and possibly wreck their TV, prompting the Zoi to replace it. It's in this post here https://discord.com/channels/1162040845181124618/1272217655008301077 As for thunderstorms, getting struck by lightning and maybe for hot weather, Zoi's can take out an umbrella or wear sunscreen to protect them from the sun!

Have graduation in the winter. You could put an ice skating rink or our Zois could use skates or explore the bottom of the sea. I wish there were more romantic interactions. Hugs, these things, but you're doing an incredible job, Kjun. And you could put bakeries and cafes. Colorado experiences a semi-arid climate with wide temperature fluctuations due to its high altitude, leading to hot summers and cold winters. Precipitation is relatively low, averaging 15-25 inches annually, with most falling during the growing season. The state is prone to thunderstorms, hail, and occasional tornadoes. Colorado's ecosystems range from prairies to alpine tundra, and the impacts of climate change, including drought and extreme heat, are increasing wildfire risks and affecting snowpack levels. The state also faces challenges related to altitude sickness for visitors in its higher elevations.

Michigan has cold winters and warm, humid summers, with the Great Lakes moderating its climate. The state experiences increased rainfall, powerful storms, and a growing risk of flooding, with climate change potentially affecting water quality and coastal ecosystems. Its ecosystems include wetlands and forests, and the Great Lakes support diverse aquatic life. Warming temperatures and shifting precipitation patterns threaten the state’s natural environments and agricultural productivity.

Florida has a humid subtropical climate with long, hot summers and mild winters, transitioning to a tropical climate in the south. The state faces significant threats from rising sea levels, more frequent heatwaves, and intensified hurricanes. Its ecosystems, including the Everglades, are vital for biodiversity but are increasingly vulnerable to climate change, coastal erosion, and severe storms. Florida's climate is influenced by its proximity to the ocean, with a defined rainy season from May to October.

All three states face climate change as a common stressor, impacting their ecosystems, weather patterns, and biodiversity. While Colorado’s semi-arid conditions are affected by drought and heat, Michigan and Florida grapple with the effects of increased precipitation, flooding, and the risks posed by rising sea levels and severe weather events.

Regarding setting the weather manually: it would be neat if next to the weather choice there was a timer/slider.

So we could choose: “Snow” and then “for 8 hours” that we can then drag back up or down if we want to prolong or stop the current player-set weather condition. Perhaps we can slide to options like 1-42 hours and then the timer sets to “Forever” if we drag it all the way.

can we have weather actually affect zois? some zois could feel lazy on rainy days or energised on sunny ones. Some could feel melancholic and reflective during rainy evenings in autumn, some could get scared from thunderstorms at night (unable to sleep), other would wake up with a peaceful moodlet ("rested"), because they loved the ambience. seasonal depression (tired, moody, unmotivated). high temperatures could make certain zois irritable. some adult zois would still react with excitement for the first snow. other zois would develop allergies during pollen seasons. it all could mainly depend on whether they enjoy or dislike a certain season and their personality

Imagine we could manually set which days of the week we want the weather to be? We would still be able to go within settings and change it on a whim. But if we get a calendar system we could manually set what each day of the week's weather will be for up to 3 months at a time. So players could have crazy weather patterns throughout the months, and see how it effects our own worlds. Be it their moods, sickness, events, etc.

EDIT: Instead of a real time acting calendar. IT could be more decorative where a month, day, being added to every 24 hour cycle and a year after so many in game hours/main go by.

Absolutely, have the Zois effected by the weather. It will add realism and retability.

I don't know if this was suggested already. I'm bit late. However, in character creation there could be sections for the specific weather, for example;

Everyday (section 1)
Summer (section 2)
Spring (section 3)
Autumn (section 4)
Winter (section 5)

When clicking on those section you can make up to 3 outfits if you want to have a very fashionable Zoi or one if you just want a weather appropriate outfits.

If not the previous mentioned idea, then perhaps after you make your Zoi you can click on the wardrobe and make weather appropriate outfits.

Same for wearing hoodies it'd be nice if we can have the option to have the hood up or down for wearing them in the winter time or just because

I hope that you add the option that we can chose for Bliss Bay to get snow. I don't care if it's realistic to California. It should be an option if we want. And power outages would be amazing! When there's bad weather there could be a chance of power outages.

I love what is in place now. However it would be cool to have dynamic weather changes such as clouds, rain, snow, winds etc. You could include a weather app on our cellphone and we can dress/prepare our day accordingly. I still like the overide features you have in place however, just in case we need it
