Looking back on this wild ride of a year, I wanted to share some highlights and lessons learned from our 2024 development journey. Amidst all the challenges, there were moments of joy where we saw the core life simulation gameplay gradually come to life.

One of the most exciting advancements was in how each Zoi evolved into increasingly individualistic characters. Zois now portray unique preferences that influence their relationships based on how compatible their characteristics are with other Zois.

Additionally, we implemented a system where Zois learn about one another incrementally. This layered approach lets them uncover details such as marital status, family members, and whether or not the other Zoi actually likes me (Check out the attached development video to see these features).

Of course, not everything was perfect. Our car physics, for instance, still need improvement. For players whose workplace is far from home, the daily commute can feel repetitive and uninspiring. To tackle this, we designed interactive and interesting locations around the city to make traveling to and from work more dynamic.

We also encountered significant challenges while developing our job system. However, amidst the difficulties, we had a moment of unexpected amusement. One of our developers accidentally introduced a bug that caused a Zoi to continuously steal money from businesses, becoming incredibly wealthy.

While this started as a mistake, we thought it was so entertaining that we decided to transform it into an official game feature. We're now developing a proper 'steal money' interaction as an alternative way for players to make ends meet. On a side note, we're pondering how to handle these robbers if they get caught by the police—but that’s a discussion for another time.

These examples portray our goal for inZOI: a realistic life simulation that also has unexpected and entertaining twists. We know there’s still a lot of work to do, and with only three months left before launch, we're focused on fine-tuning the details to deliver the best possible experience. Post-launch, we’ll continue to improve the game with feedback from our community.

Here in Seoul, it didn’t snow as much as I’d hoped for a White Christmas. If we were in inZOI, I could’ve just cranked the snow level to maximum, but such is life. That said, we are grateful for the warmth and support you provided, which has given us the power to keep going.

As we head into 2025, we’re excited to continue building this game alongside our community. Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for being part of our journey. Here’s to a happy, warm, and inspiring New Year with your loved ones!

I love that you plan to add more spontaneity and entertaining chaos! And it’s a smart move to work on adding that later as now you have your hands full with fine tuning the foundations of the game for us.

As far as arrests go, I’d love to see a small chance of chaos in the form of the suspect making a run for it. That would be quite funny to see the officer struggling to pursue the suspect.

Also, a suggestion. The game can benefit from having some pre-established, well known characters in each city with a backstory. Forgive me to compare, but like in the Sims how we have the infamous Don Lothario or the Goth family. Adding some pre-existing characters with backstories and strong friendships or rivalries would be interesting. Just my humble opinion! 😅

Thank you, Kjun for your open communication with us. So very much appreciated that you take our opinions to your hard working development team and try to weave them into the game as best you can. And congratulations on your new CEO position of inZOI Studio! We are glad the game is receiving this support and you are leading it. Psycat_Blush

Thanks to Kjun and the developers and staff of iZOI for their hard work! Developing a perfect game takes time. I still remember when I was playing face pinching, I spent a lot of time pinching faces, but it was really fun. You Guys also gave a lot of examples and goals for inZOI. I'm very happy about this! 2025 WE ARE COMING!🥳 🎉 ❤️

I'm grateful to you, Kjun, and the whole amazing team behind Inzoi 💖. You didn't just create a game, you created an entire universe 🌍, full of possibilities and stories that completely captivate us ✨.

Every detail in the game is so well thought out! From the personalities of the ZOIs to the interactions that make everything feel so alive and real 💫. It's impossible not to feel the love and care you put into every little part of this project 💕.

Oh, and I have to mention: I absolutely loved the idea of the ZOI company thief! 😄 Who would have thought that turning a bug into a fun and unexpected feature could work so well? Ahahah 😂. Thank you for all the effort and dedication you've put into this and for making us a part of this incredible journey! Wishing everyone a great 2025 🚀✨.

It's great to see how the game is evolving. I love the idea of each Zoi becoming more unique with their preferences and relationships. The system where they get to know each other is really interesting.
The addition of the interaction stealing money is super fun, and I really like how you've turned a bug into a real feature!
I'm also glad to see that you're working on the physics problems and routes to make them more dynamic. You're really doing a great job, and I can't wait to see the final version.
Happy New Year to you and the whole team, and thank you for all your hard work! Kjun_Heart 💯

Thank you for all your hard work team! I'm excited to see what more dynamics you will bring to the game for the realism in gameplay.

I'm excited to see what more you will add for the AI system of characters too. And love you have means to get to know more than one person at a time (from the group chat it seems in the video clip). Will you add more deeper facts we can learn about other characters (directly and through others)? Like if they cheated on their partner/spouse, a criminal, homeless, lost their parent at a young age etc.

I like you'll have consequences in game for crimes too and hope more crimes are added. I feel as someone else said being able to run and hide from police is essential, and if we stay under the radar long enough the charges might get dropped. I think some crimes should have longer/less jail time, like stealing money and stealing from others homes, could be a longer jail sentence. Versus if you just stole food in the grocery store.

Happy Holidays to you Kjun!Psycat_Holiday_Sparkle
This post showed a lot of new features and even though mentioned that some aspect are for another time, i though I'd give my own opinions on each little areasPsycat_Holiday_Sparkle

As a very reserved and fairly shyed character, it would be very cool to see my characteristics ingame where some Zoi's, when approached may feel intimidated so to speak or would rather be left alone. Though this may already be in game, it would may be a good idea to suggest to have Zois prefer to tell the bare minimum about themselves rather than through a simple conversation, i know about your family, your life and where you went this christmas. Its apart of the gameplay in popular leading Life Sims where, I could spend 5 minutes real time and pretty much get to know an entire persons character. If possible, I would like to see some characters where even after trying for numerous days, I wouldn't have gotten close enough to a Zoi to be able to call each other "best friends"

You mentioned about the car physics still needing improvements and I am glad for such a transparency and it shows that you guys truly appreciate the feed back from the community and hold us close to your hearts! My suggestion for the repetitive daily commute could be something of a GPS system. We all are familiar whether by google maps or iPhones versions of navigation where you are suggest with the shortest possible route with other routes, in descending order, the next possible shortest route. Maybe taking inspiration from this would provide a big of "changing up" the scenes players see, on their way to work. I know the feeling fully of getting tired of the same things over and over as even my own mom has expressed that she wish there were new roads in our areas, to bring her to work as she has gotten tired of constantly driving the same places. It has gotten to the extent where she would leave out 30 minutes earlier to drive the longest route , in the opposite direction to do a loop straight back to work. Another "change up" that could possibly be considered is already ingame. Car accidents, its a tragedy to see, but it alters the mood of people to see complete uncommon events on their way to work!

As for repercussions for stealing from a work place, I like to think that dirty hands/money promotes dirty mindsets. No i do not speak of literal dirt. Here is a better example, as a child, you did something completely wrong but didnt want to get in trouble, so you lied. It worked! you got out of trouble by lieing so doing it again would probably work another time. Its a habbit now, your a lier and you cant seem to stop? This is just a simple example of how bad habbits form. Take this and put it for the stealing options, you stole once, you got a few dollars richer without being caught so you must be able to do it again right? Now your a filthy thief and cant seem to stop. How is this a punishment? Well, you begin to think you can go bigger, steal more and the more you steal, the risker it becomes, until someone notices, reports you and BANG! your fired, BANG! your at the police station paying a heavy fine, BANG! your in jail because your boss drives a nice car and you got caught trying to steal it!
The best part about life simulation games is that you are almost never short on ideas that could be implemented since everything in life, is based on chances. A simple feature like seeing your bestfriend Zoi in the same Tee shirt you both bought a few months ago even changes up how player view the absolutely fine tunings and details that developers had thought of!

Its long and i like to chat a lot but i hope my insights are helpful in some way or another, Happy Holidays to you and your team Kjun!Icon_Heart

That's an interesting way for a rags to riches game to start making money. It might be interesting if you have a chance of getting arrested. I'm not sure how you might open it up and make a live police station, but it would be cool if it could eventually happen too.

I loved that the ZOI's will learn tidbits about other Zois. I would love it if they could learn which city the Zoi is from, their goals, and a little about their back stories. If the Zoi is in a certain location like the library you can ask what they are working on. And they will tell you they are investigating a journalistic piece, studying for final exams or doing research.

Crime and the law needs to be fully fleshed out. I want to see the ZOIS getting arrested and serving active jail time.

I love that new interactive locations are being added 😍😍😍.

Please can you place the van workers inside the van for launch. 🙏

Thank you so much for this update. Here's to a successful launch for the new year 🎊.

Edit:

It would be cool if they had your mugshot hung up in the store for a store ban duration. I would love if they expand on this by giving us a Law Career. I want to see my lawyer defend me in court. The options to get a proper lawyer, public defender or to defend yourself.

On a side note, we're pondering how to handle these robbers if they get caught by the police—but that’s a discussion for another time.

One thing you could think about is a Law Enforcement and Court System and if that's something you could devise and how. Optionally you could also ponder on a Crime System with various types of crimes, like simple thefts, bigger robberies etc.

For example, we have a single Zoi, or a organized group of Zois commiting a crime, let's say it's money theft as you mentioned. Then another Zoi who witnesses this can call for police if it's ongoing, or go to a police station and make a report of that crime. Once that's done, police would get moving and try to find and catch the thieves and arrest them, followed by a court session later on, where they would be judged by a judge based on evidence procured by the police and prosecution. At the same time, the thieves could try hiring a lawyer to defend them in court. Depending on skills of the prosecution and the defense (charisma, and/or a special skill related to law knowledge) the result would be guilty or not guilty, for example purposes let's say the thieves were found guilty based on unquestionable evidence provided, so the judge sentences the thieves to jail time, returning what they stole, and various fines on top of that.

This is just a rough concept, but might as well share it as "food for thought".

Yes, it would be amazing to have a system where wealthy ZOIs could hire elite lawyers to reduce sentences or avoid convictions, while poorer ZOIs face harsher punishments, reflecting social inequalities.

Players would have to decide whether to use wealth to manipulate justice or accept the consequences, impacting the ZOI's reputation and relationships. Hiring lawyers would be a strategic mechanic, with options varying based on cost and effectiveness, highlighting the limitations faced by less privileged ZOIs.

Additionally, powerful ZOIs could influence the police and judiciary through bribes or intimidation, with the level of corruption adjusted according to the type of government. These dynamics could lead to protests, social tensions, and even political crises.

Ooh how fun! Lock them up, make them unavailable for playing for a few sim days while they are in jail. Real life is unpredictable 🤷‍♀️. I love the idea of having spontaneous events happen that are out of our control (thank goodness for autosave just in case). Also, thank you for working hard on giving each zoi individuality and unique character shapen by their environment and experiences. All the best!

I hope as for punishment for crime we can adjust that level to our own preference.

I mentioned this in another post. But I'd like to see organized crime between more than one person be a thing. To steal from public lots like museums, car dealerships, jewerly stores, and banks, etc. Like for example when it's at night and no one is really around they could steal from museums.
Or even in broad daylight, but their stealth would need to be high enough to steal something smaller like jewelry and clothes.

I love all the attention going to making zoi's look and feel like real people, users will be able to literally create themselves as a Zoi and live in your world. It just leaves me a touch jealous.
You see, I'm not the average player, and as of yet, there is no Life Sim on the market that would allow me to build myself, or to simulate the experience of my life, and the lives of millions like me. Who is this yet untapped group, you ask? Persons with Disabilities, it is. I know Paralives is including a bunch of, as of yet unfunctional items, but this is not enough for those who have been ignored for years. Please be the first game to include us in the human experience too. Please 🥺

Thank you so so much for all of the hard work and love that you and your team have put into this game. It's so refreshing to see a team actually really care not just about what the gamers/consumers think or want, but really care about making a good playable game. I love reading how things have come to be/ the process of it, the growth, the hardships or road blocks that you and your time have come across, and all the fun and exciting things that have inspired new gameplay and ideas. It's like the difference of eating your favorite meal at a resturant, and having it cooked by a loved one. You can taste the love and care. I may not have had the chance to play this game yet, but I can already tell there has been so much love and care put into it and it only makes me more excited to finally get to play this game in the next coming months. Thank you so so so much again, for everything you and your team have done and thank you for being someone who has been honest and open and allowed us players to feel like we and our opinions matter.
I hope everyone had a nice wrap up of the year 2024 and I wish you all a very happy new year! ❤️
