You're not tricking anyone and they are listed as out of stock for a reason. We do NOT offer transfers between servers for VIPs.

Hey Moosers!

As some of you have noticed, our website has been getting DDoSed for the last few days, off and on. This has caused pretty irregular errors and very long loading times.

Due to this we are currently migrating some of our back-end systems this evening which will hopefully help strengthen our infrastructure and minimize the outages in the future. However, a side effect of this is our website being down for a few hours while we get things situated.

Hey there @everyone!

With the news of the HDRP artwork backport going live with the update on May 6th, Facepunch has also announced that Hapis Island will be getting removed from the game. Based on Alistair’s tweet about Hapis, it does seem that a revamp is in the works utilizing all of the new artwork from the HDRP backport, though. We will be keeping our eyes open for this in hopes that Hapis will be returned to its former glory.

With that being said, we are very sad to announce that we will be shutting down Rusty Moose US Hapis on Thursday, April 29th at 3pm EST and this current wipe will be the last Hapis wipe.

In order to fill this hole in our roster and continue our effort to match our US servers with their EU counterparts, we will be launching EU Monthly No BP Wipes with the update on May 6th at 19:00 UTC+1. This server will map wipe on the first Thursday of every month at the time of the monthly content update and will not wipe blueprints unless forced by Facepunch, which is generally every couple years.

We are aware of some connectivity issues with our EU servers. Many players are getting a "Steam Auth Timeout" error when attempting to join. We have confirmed that this is happening with a few other official communities as well and are looking into it.

For now we will restart the servers as that seems to work at least as a bandaid. We're running on the assumption that this is an issue with Steam or our host. We'll let you know when we know more.

Hey EU Main peeps!

We made an oopsie and had the wrong map in queue for today's wipe. We're correcting it now and will be rewiping EU Main momentarily. Sorry for the confusion!

Update: Apparently someone accidentally messed EU Mini too. It is a bit larger than normal but we're going to leave it for this wipe. Instead we'll raise max pop accordingly. The map will go back to regular size next week.

We are moving US Main to a new and much better machine as an experiment. The IP is changing, so US Main will not show up in your server history. You will have to search for Moose in the Official server list until you've played on it at least once.

Today we are releasing a very much overdue remodel and overhaul of our VIP store. Let me run through some of the changes and try to answer any questions I foresee coming out of this change.

📌 Interface Overhaul
The store has been streamlined and converted to a wizard format. It is about as straightforward as possible and we hope it will cut down on a lot of confusion.

📌 Gifting VIP
One of the must haves for our new system was the ability to gift VIP directly to a friend without having to buy them a gift card. You can now gift directly to whoever you'd like with or without them online.

📌 Automatic Renewals (PayPal Subscriptions)
We are finally reintroducing automatic renewals in our store for the first time since early 2017. It is an opt-in feature and will not be enabled by default. We have also added a Billing Agreements menu option on our site to help you easily cancel any subscriptions in the future.

📌 Additional Payment Gateways
We’ve heard you loud and clear. We are looking at getting Stripe added very soon. Stay tuned.

Lastly, what is happening to your current VIP? We have merged all of the existing VIPs to our new system and will be cancelling renewals on any active purchases. This just simply means that you will need to repurchase VIP on our new system once your current VIP runs out. You will not lose any VIP time whatsoever.

During the migration we ran into an issue and some wires got crossed. We're cancelling the migration for tonight and will try again in the morning.

We're aware of the connectivity issues on some servers. One of our hosts added a new carrier which in the long term will add more stability and lower ping, but unfortunately it's causing some problems as they work on it.

We'll keep you updated if we learn more.

Starting immediately, US & EU Mondays will be transitioning to No BP Wipes servers. This means they will NOT be wiping blueprints at forced wipe on September 2nd.

It looks like the hardware hosting these servers had a fault of some sort and we're waiting for our host to address it. Keeping in mind it is 2:00am or later in EU, their response times are a bit slower during these hours.

Attention EU Monthly No BP Wipes Players:

We will be taking EU Monthly No BP Wipes down 1 hour before forced wipe (18:00 London Time) in order to migrate that server to a new machine with much faster hardware.

If you need to research/learn any BPs before forced do it before that time. Map wipe will be at the standard 19:00 BST time.

Hey @here,

Just a reminder that the Halloween update is coming out today in ~45 minutes. This will be a mandatory patch. That means we will be taking ALL of our servers down to apply the patch and you will need to update your game clients, as well.

NA servers will still wipe at the normal time which can be found in #wipe-schedule.

With the holiday season quickly approaching and the news of a forced blueprint wipe with the update on December 2nd, we’re going to go ahead and mix things up as well!

Along with the update on December 2nd, we will be changing our old US/EU Monthly servers to US/EU Small No BP Wipes. Don’t worry, the existing Monthly No BP Wipes servers are not going anywhere!

December 2nd Changes:

  • Renaming & updates to US & EU Monthly
    - New Name: US & EU Small No BP Wipes
    - Map Wipes: Monthly
    - BP Wipes: N/A (only if forced by FP)
    - Map Size: 3500
    - Team UI: 8
  • Updates to US & EU Monthly No BP Wipes
    - Team UI: 12

Some of the Moose'mins (ahem, @tacit cedar & @spark hornet) are just all around bah humbugs and don't like analytics but I've always found them pretty interesting so I'm going to include it anyways. Here is some of the data I've pulled from US & EU Monthly since their launch:

  - 384,308 unique players
  - 2,861,496 connections
  - 3,275,007 hours played
  - 12,868,894 chat messages

Hey everyone, after receiving an overwhelming amount of community feedback since our announcement yesterday, we've made a minor revision that has been highly requested.

US & EU Monthly No BP Wipes will have its team UI set at 12 instead of 16 as announced. Realistically, you should not see any change if you played in November as it has been at 12 all month.

We definitely missed the mark on that one and got caught up listening to the vocal minority. I hope this change is more widely welcomed!

TLDR

Monthly No BP Wipes will have Team UI of 12 instead of 16. Same it has been all month of November.

Hey everyone! Just have a small quick update.

We will be removing "No BP Wipes" from the name of servers in the browser. No wipe schedules are actually changing - just the name!

This change will go into effect tomorrow morning after the daily restarts.

Example:

  • Old: Rusty Moose |US Monthly No BP Wipes|
  • New: Rusty Moose |US Monthly|

Lastly, Christmas content is being enabled this Thursday, December 16th! Make sure you don't miss out on presents and sled rides! 🎅 moose 🎄

One of our hosts that provides some of our NA machines has just announced a network maintenance event planned for <t:1642240800> (<t:1642240800:R>).

They are expecting a 15-30 minute outage during this maintenance. We have been told it is to improve redundancy in this data center which should further help with unexpected network issues moving forward.

Hey @here, sorry for 2 pings in the same week. ❤️

We will have some planned downtime for most of our EU servers this evening as we are moving them to a new host with much better and faster hardware. This will provide all of our EU players with a better experience all around.

The servers that will be moving are:

  • @dull moss
  • @hard drift
  • @sweet stone

Pending there are no unforeseen issues, we expect the downtime to last ~30-60 minutes. Also note that their IPs will be changing which means they will not show up in your server browser history and you will have to search and re-favourite them from the Official list.

Additionally, @round oriole has some planned maintenance scheduled for tomorrow at a TBD time to replace the water cooler and perform some other various maintenance before forced wipe this Thursday. We will provide further updates on that maintenance tomorrow closer to when it is scheduled.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but this will certainly help provide a better experience moving forward.

There seems to be a lot of confusion about the upcoming forced wipe tomorrow. I'm not sure if this is because of a massive influx of noobs that don't get how Rust wipes work, or if y'all just can't remember things for more than a month. Either way, let's cover a few of the basics!

❓ When does Rust update?
🇦 Game updates come out on the first Thursday of every month at 2pm EST / 7pm BST

❓ What is forced wipe?
🇦 Forced wipe refers to the map wipe that occurs every month at the time of the update (on the first Thursday of every month). This is because the changes in the update force the map to be wiped.

❓ Do BPs wipe on forced wipe?
🇦 It is up to the server owner to decide if they want to wipe BPs at forced wipe. It is not required!

❓ Does server X wipe blueprints?
🇦 All Rusty Moose servers have their map and blueprint wipe schedules very clearly stated in #wipe-schedule! You can't miss it!

Lastly, there is an insane amount of misinformation about this coming update and what is in it. The update tomorrow will not have the PvP/recoil changes that Alistair has mentioned. That will be in a later update. It also does not have modular weapons.

Don't be late to forced wipe tomorrow at 2pm EST / 7pm BST! We'll see y'all there! moose

So 432 headaches later I think we may have fixed the recent crash problem with @playrust (this includes those annoying RPC ones).

We're aware that Medium is currently down. The map save has been corrupted due to a bug introduced in this latest game update.

We are working to resolve it and hopefully there won't be any data loss. Will update as soon as we know more.

We're aware of electricity (and some keycard readers) periodically breaking on the monthly servers. It is very much out of our hands right now & it comes and goes. It's directly related to water catcher passthroughs bogging down the backend.

We're working on a permanent fix through Facepunch but unsure when it will happen.

If you want to do your part, take down your 27 water catchers OR carpet bomb your neighbor's water catchers. ez gains. Thank you, drive through. 👍

Edit: We did, out of necessity, remove a bunch of water catchers so simple things like card readers would work again. If you feel the need to disregard our warnings and put them back up please refrain from using the passthrough option on the catchers. Try using fluid combiners instead please please please. Thanks!

Hey @everyone!

It has been just over a year since we had to shutdown Hapis due to the HDRP update breaking it. However, we are very happy to say that Hapis is being rereleased by Facepunch with this coming forced wipe on June 2nd, and we will be relaunching Rusty Moose Hapis along with it!

Unfortunately, this revival does come at a cost. In order to make room for Hapis, we will be shutting down US Softcore. This was not an easy decision to make, however, we believe that it is the right move for the long term. While I know some of you have made Softcore your home, I hope you give Hapis Island a shot at winning you over.

Hey everyone, Facepunch has just released a client update that is the wrong connection protocol and is not allowing players to connect to any server.

If you are already in game you are fine and can keep playing. If you are not in game and have downloaded the last update you will need to wait until FP can fix it with another update.

Facepunch is aware and are working to resolve it. We will update here once this is resolved.

A new client update was just pushed to fix this issue. If you cannot connect to the servers, please update your clients.

We have just released a mandatory update to address a third-party backend system update.

Both server and game client will need to be updated in order to reconnect.

No gameplay was changed.

We have identified some issues preventing some servers from booting back up after the update.

We will be reverting this patch shorty so we can further troubleshoot.

There seems to be a lot of confusion about how updates and forced wipes work in Rust. I assumed it was all new players asking, but nope, still some of you idiots with 10k hours haven't figured out how Rust wipes work.

Rust content updates come out on the FIRST THURSDAY OF EVERY MONTH. This means that FORCED WIPE IS ALWAYS ON THE FIRST THURSDAY OF THE MONTH.

❌ Every 4th week
❌ Last Thursday of the month
❌ 1st of every month
✅ 1st Thursday of every month

We'll see y'all for forced wipe on July 7th.

We're aware of the issue of the players not being able to download the map. The CDN used host the maps is currently having issues.

We're working on uploading to a backup CDN. Stay tuned.
