OpenAI hater (Elon Musk) gonna hate
I find it interesting that Apple is going to Google, their competition, for AI services.
Though I think this is what Siri and Alexa should’ve been, they were just too early for their time
well alexa was basically made to listen in on convos and recommend amazon products
Perhaps, though they still advertised it to be functionally similar to Siri.
apple and Google work together when it's beneficial for each other, for instance Google paying Apples safari to default to Google for a search engine. There might be more under the covers that makes it attractive for both parties to consider
On the lawsuit note, I think this is mostly overblown (especially since Grok supposedly has hit #1 on the App Store before), but I can understand why Musk would be annoyed that the company he left is getting all the limelight. Furthermore, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Grok in Apple’s recommended apps outside the top 5.
In any case, it’s good to be informed on the future of technology.
True
Though at this point in time, there’s not a real competitor to Google Search besides maybe Bing, or if you’re a tech nerd, DuckDuckGo
DDG is Bing-based
with privacy flavour
Interesting
I wonder how is Gemini gonna function with iPhone in China, since in China you can’t use Google🤔
that's why Google got pinned as monopoly
How does Siri function in China?
perhaps they could consider deepseek
I think Siri by itself currently is working in China? Idk
I mean, true they do have a lot of power and popularity, though I think almost all their services have a worthy competitor, outside of YouTube.
And that’s mostly because video streaming services are ruinously expensive
realistically not so much, in the realm of search engines that is, Google has a death grip on the market share. 62% as of late with safari behind them at 12% and so on. I'm not sure if the outcome is still ongoing but they are most likely going to have to drop the Google search engine and sell it to someone else per u.s requests
Indeed. While its a good move for both companies on paper I guess I never expected this to happen
