it was fine a few days ago but today all of the sudden the voice changer (when in client mode) would not work, even using different mics, whether its my default mic or quest mic it doesnt work, i tried the server mode (windows wasabi) it worked, i was recommended to uninstall vb cable and install vb lite, which i did but it didnt fix the issue

i'm using:

windows 10:
gpu: amd 9070 XT

harsh vault
#

also check the terminal window if there might be some error messages

teal skiff
#

nvm it doesnt work in server mode anymore too

#

client version doesnt work either

#

i dont see any errors

#

perf indicator is on 60-55 it all seems fine its just not capturing my voice? i tried all the mics though, and yesterday it was working fine on server mode but today not?

i tested the server mode yesterday on desktop it worked,

tried today on quest mic it stopped working both in desktop and quest's mic

not sure if that has something to do with it

#

now the perf is at 0 ?

#

ok back to 60 after pressing on "reload" but no sound still

#

also unrelated but every time i play something in vr and use this voice changer it crashes my gpu (even if i pick the server mode it still seems to make my gpu sweat a lot and crash regardless of whether its client or server, i thought server mode is less taxxing on the gpu no?)

#

but today it stopped working same as client

yeah i tried all the mics

also uncechk sup1 and use sup2 if u got noise issues

calm nebula
# teal skiff ahh okay thats good to know

those optional settings could help u in performance and quality:

  • Advanced Settings -> Force FP32 mode: on (THIS IS OFF BY DEFAULT! Turning this on improves stability. Increases VRAM usage by 200 MB)
  • Advanced Settings -> Crossfade Lenght: Controls how smoothly the AI stitches different processed parts "chunks" of your voice back together. 0.1 for fastest voice, 0.15 for improved quality but increases delay by ~50 ms
  • Reduce the delay on Windows via the Wasapi / Asio Guide

oh alright

rich plank
#

Or also

#

Just copy the localhost url that you have on cmd

#

On another browser

#

This is more simple

teal skiff
#

oh in another browser it seems to work!

#

for client anyway

#

let me try server

calm nebula
teal skiff
#

firefox

calm nebula
#

it might be that some browsers updates might give issues, or some settings that get changed in updates or are by default

teal skiff
#

oh server also works

teal skiff
#

what do i have to do to get it to work in chrome?

#

or if firefox updates and causes another issue

calm nebula
teal skiff
#

when this issue happens does voice changer client get an update that i have to install?

#

my apologies if my question is stupid

calm nebula
teal skiff
#

only wasapi

calm nebula
#

there is a newer (still getting updates even tho not as much mature) ai realtime voice changer based on RVC which has a normal window ui and some other perks, but it's nvidia windows only and not open source (atleast yet), called Vonovox, so you can't use it

teal skiff
#

is it less taxxing on the gpu?

teal skiff
calm nebula
# teal skiff is it less taxxing on the gpu?

the government made it, it has more taxes 🔥 /j
Jokes aside, if both wokada deiteris fork and vonovox are maxxed out (both using the reduce delay and best settings) they should perform similarly, tho vonovox fixed some issues like the extra having cutoff issues when it's over at 2.7

calm nebula
#

if AI is a need for you, ofc nvidia is a better choice

teal skiff
#

sdk or asp-net core runtime?

#

wait

#

it says desktop sorry i got it

calm nebula
#

oh lol

teal skiff
#

but i love it

calm nebula
calm nebula
teal skiff
#

well im trying to get asio and

#

it wouldnt open

#

i got the asio.gui installer

calm nebula
teal skiff
#

i installed it and it wouldnt open. i already installed the desktop runtime yeah

#

this one

#

oh wait hold on...

#

i dont even have expressvpn im pretty sure girl_Wtf_what_confused_huh_anime

#

oh wth i did, im deleting express

calm nebula
calm nebula
#

It's FOSS (Free and Open Source Software), helps you uninstall it and search if there's unwanted remaining elements that can be deleted

#

At least this is my personal suggestion, not a need but can be helpful

teal skiff
#

ill get it i need it tbh

#

oh wow its really useful thanks for this suggestion

#

rn trying to set up the asio.gui

#

okay i repaired the runtime but the asio is still for some reason not opening...

#

like its fine now idk why asio.gui installer isnt letting opening the flexASIO gui

#

maybe i need to reinstall asio

#

still nothing FrierenThink

#

oh! i found it through the uninstaller app you gave me

#

i let it run and it opened a cmd really quick then it went away...not the correct step as its supposed to open a window

#

wait i opened it, it was the one below it 😭

calm nebula
teal skiff
#

(im detailing this for anyone in the future that faces the same problem as me so maybe i can help them)

teal skiff
calm nebula
#

Or it doesn't appear when u search it on windows ?

teal skiff
#

it works yeah it opened the window

#

however 1 problem

#

i have 2 mics, one for my vr and one for desktop

#

and its only allowing 1 to be checked 😭

calm nebula
teal skiff
#

not at the same time no, sometimes desktop, sometimes vr's mic

#

razer is my desktop, (the one above the checked one)

calm nebula
teal skiff
calm nebula
#

You can't select 2 different microphones to use at the same time

teal skiff
#

oh wait im stupid i get it

calm nebula
teal skiff
#

i thought it was okoda

calm nebula
teal skiff
#

i love this technology

calm nebula
#

Now that I noticed I thought your PFP was off the game Helltaker lol

#

Kinda similar but I don't think it's related to that

teal skiff
#

oh it isnt

#

its from....a cursed show with an author that should be locked up (but unfortunetly he's creative and is a master at world building)

its called made in abyss

#

the character is ozen

#

okay ill test the asio now

#

so now i put both input and output as asio? this one?

#

oh right i do

calm nebula
calm nebula
teal skiff
#

okay yeah i think thats all, i'll test it out in vr and see if my gpu still crashes when i turn the voice changer on ingame

#

hopefully with these settings it wont

calm nebula
teal skiff
#

wait whats the "default" option?

teal skiff
#

i dont hear anything and it said an error on the right side. something about sample not being supported?

calm nebula
calm nebula
teal skiff
calm nebula
# teal skiff

It seems like you did not match the sample rate of your virtual audio cable to your microphone. Return to the prerequisite step and ensure both are set to 48000 Hz

north rampart
# teal skiff uhh

For flexasio leave at default, the numbers are for true asio devices which flex isnt

north rampart
#

Also monitor is set to windows directsound, that might cause an issue if matching sample rates doesnt fix it

#

Windows wasapi on monitor should work while having flexasio

calm nebula
teal skiff
north rampart
teal skiff
#

well they are both the same

teal skiff
calm nebula
calm nebula
teal skiff
teal skiff
#

i tried client mode and i heard the voice (also the perf was on 70) but my gpu crashed, so the issue is only present in the server mode

#

likely something with how asio is set up or something..

calm nebula
teal skiff
#

ok

#

perf is still 0

#

server side

#

but on wasapi

#

i see the perf

#

and i hear myself

#

so the issue is with asio

#

(also gpu crashed again even in wasapi with no vr game open, vr+voice changer=death of my gpu 😭

#

might get an nividia at this point

#

Cuz amd 9070 cannot handle it (in vr)

calm nebula
#

@teal skiff i saw the message u just deleted, nope wokada deiteris fork is not meant only for nvidia cards, it has better performance for everyone, and especially for amd

calm nebula
#

SR should be 48000

#

try that with asio, and show a screenshot again

teal skiff
#

the perf

calm nebula
# teal skiff

could you show me the advanced options of ur recording and playback tab?

teal skiff
#

you mean this?

teal skiff
#

same for both

#

maybe i change the channel from 3 to 2?

#

down there?

#

i noticed something. it said to put the latency (both) as 0.2, however every time i do that and save and re-open this its back to 0.0...?

#

yeah it would not stay as 0.2 no matter what

#

maybe thats why?

#

the buffer stays the same but the latency keeps going back to 0.0

#

OH

#

it was the channel

#

i set it to 2 and now it works

calm nebula
north rampart
#

Nvm, you changed the channels inside flexasio, not the one on wokada right

#

I misread

#

That explains why it didnt work, since 3 is not the default at all, you changed it for some reason. Wokada recognizes 0, 1 and 2 (iirc)

teal skiff
#

i think we're good now issue solved

#

thank you

teal skiff
#

1 small issue although i hear it it doesnt pick up in games or discord when i switch input to line 1 whether its client or server

north rampart
teal skiff
#

Basically i hear the audio on my headphones (the voice changer i hear it) but it doesn’t pick up on discord or games

#

Like the virtual cable is line 1

#

When i put the input in discord or games as “line 1” it doesn’t pick up in the game/discord

#

Like everything is working fine except the fact that it doesnt pick up in discord/games

north rampart
#

Or if you use flexasio, did you select the right things

#

If you use flexasio can you try Windows wasapi?

[Windows wasapi] on everything
Sr 48000
Input mic
Output line 1

teal skiff
# north rampart On wokada you selected Line 1 as output?

weird now it works in both server mode and client but before when i was using a differnet mic (i changed the input in flexasio to be the mic i was using, and despite being able to hear myself line 1 was not being picked up by other applications

#

so inconsitant, im sorry for bugging you, every time i encounter a problem, soon as you respond it fixes itself

#

though question

#

is there a way to use noise suppression on server mode?

#

or something that can help with noise suppression?

calm nebula
#

Except ur on and so u gotta find other 3rd party tools

teal skiff
#

Wait again same issue with the link 1 input not being picked up by discord or games

#

But only in client mode?

#

In server mode it works fine i can speak and others can hear me it gets picked up, but as soon as i switch to client mode (input my mic, output line 1 vb) all of the sudden it cant be picked up despite being able to hear myself

#

Should i get a normal virtual cable (the one i had before) and use that for client mode and the virtual cable lite (line 1) be used for server mode? Or what?

#

Ok so when i switched output from line 1 to smth else then back to line 1 (in client mode) all of the sudden its being picked up ingame, so bizarre but it works now ig

#

Sorry for bugging again
