I use the Rog Ally non extreme Z1 version and I would like to see if any Ai model for any purpose can be hsed on the Rog Ally like graphics, images, music, audio, video storytelling, coding and even 3D Models, I like to develop a game with ai mostly since I failed hard for 5 years with doing everything manually and if Ai ever develops to be more optimized will my Rog Ally ever be useable for ais with ZLUDA or SCALE for CUDA as Im not gonna replace this cool devuce for a long time?
#Its the Rog Ally usable for any multi modal ai

Hello, the rog ally doesn't have a dedicated gpu, plus AMD has worse AI support
Yeah thats why I ask
if you want, you could try to patch AI Programs with Zluda, but i don't think anyone can guarantee you it will work good
@snow turtle was an ex amd dedicated gpu user, maybe he knows more on this, since i'm not sure what you mean by scale for nvidia
Thats dissapointing
Basically a Zluda alternative
Also I think I have an idea for a workaround, does using a free tier of say a Google Cloud PC and then installing an ai on it work?
Like a remote PC kinda thing?
@outer fiber Also nice, 5 mutual servers and great pfp!
next thing you wanna run AI on a microwave
Does my idea of using a remote PC work though, or that does require money making the method pointless?
You can use any Cloud service
it has a browser, so it can use Google Colab, Google Cloud, Kaggle and Lightning.AI
Google Colab offers max random 4 hours of T4 gpu daily
Kaggle offers 30 hours weekly of T4x2 or P100
lightning.ai offers 15 free credits monthly which can be around 80 hours of gpu
you can run VPS on some cloud provider with GPU
not T4 thout, it is outdated garbage
I mean it does work but it's not that good, that's why it's free lol
I remember that I could use acfual free VPS and even got to login in on Windows VPS but that gets any account banned.
I could try I guess.
lightning.ai gives the most freedom (doesn't ban for using web uis for example) and has a nice free tier
but for cloud, you'd have to code your own notebooks or find jupyter notebooks online
like gpt-oss 20b jupyter notebook and upload it to the cloud services, you might also need a lil bit of coding to adjust it to some specific services in some cases
Its this website https://lightning.ai
yes
80 hours of ai seem limited, I was gonna ask if alternative accounts work but then it asked me for a phone number.
Still better than other ais free tiers though.
I was gonna ask if alternative accounts
basically most, if not all, cloud services would kill both accounts if you were caught
Dang
I even got banned from Cursor ai several times from all login methods.
So I guess I cant play unfair back
80 hours of ai seem limited
It's actually pretty good, you won't get banned
you could get more hours monthly for free on kaggle (30 weekly = 120 monthly), but still asks for your phone number, has more restrictions like you can't use WebUIs (not sure if you're going to), and ofc would kill all alt accs if caught
Google colab would offer max 4 hours not granted, which can be random
as in one day it could be 1 hour, the other could be 4 hours, the other 2 and the other 30, depending how much you use their free service
But again, no alt acc, doesn't ask for phone number and still doesn't allow web uis
I think I gotta use tbose hours sparingly and even use several of these websites sparingly too.
tbh lightning.ai does have cheap prices too if you want
you can get an hour per like 33 cents, you could get maybe even cheaper depending on the available providers
Doesnt sound bad now that I think about it.
Just in case though its Google Cloud free tier actually free but at the cost of speed?
Thats my last question.
@outer fiber Wait, Hold up? It says 80 monthly "GPU" hours, does that mean that after those 80 hours
I can still use Lighting.ai just with slower speeds?
Or am I misinterpreting something?
it also has an "interruptible" (lightning.ai has automatic saving) which makes you pay cheaper but is less stable, but it will still automatically save
prices (with different providers)
pricing (google cloud provider only)
not all providers are always available iirc
if you finish those hours, you will finish the credits, and will only be able to use the free studios
which are 4 hours of shitty CPU (which you can restart the session to restart the 4 hours, but abusing it can risk your acc)
also, you really don't want to use CPUs at all cost in AI 😭
Multiple websites then if theres a lot of them.
Doesnt seem that bad everything you said.
I have a feeling in your case you can either buy your own local desktop (like i did), use the free tiers (but might seem too low in your case?) or just buy some paid hours
Ofc, everyone would prefer everything free, myself too, but unfortunately not everything can be free
Rip
Local desktops are too expensive, the Rog Ally costed me less than a PS5 and a Switch 2 and I can run anything I throw at it in terms of games.
are you sure almost 80 hours aren't enough for your use case? what exactly do you want to do?
Obviously not at 1080p
Local desktops are too expensive
well fair point, it does also depend by country's currency
Toy around with the ai with generations, and make code for me since I dont knoe how to code at all.
I would like to use it for Homebrew of Nintendo consoles too which online ais can do but suck at it and chat limits.
are you looking to make homebrew games for nintendo with ai code?
I actually even did a Raycasting demo for the GBA with it, but the code usually doesnt work
Which I would like to train an ai with the Devkitpro source code for it.
LLMs (Large Language Models, so chatbots like chatgpt) actually just do text prediction, I wouldn't expect them to be extremely good for games, especially in homebrew which can be particular cases, unless it's just a little game
btw have you tried https://aistudio.google.com ? gemini developer free tier is crazy good
Yes, Very Good Free Tier and the ai limits only run out of I use it like crazy.
I would like to use multi modal ais on say Lighting Ai and that sort of website though like train my own dedicated Soundtrack ais, game graphics ai and even video ai with it.
the most hours you can get for free is via kaggle but risking if you ever use any web user interface
use it only if you aren't going to use web uis
lightning.ai gives a bit less than kaggle, but is more free, which is why i'd suggest you
I will let Gemini do the work and guidance for me.
also, paying some cents for some more hours isn't that bad, if it's like 33 cents, you can get 3 hours with slightly less than an euro, along with the other almost 80 free ones
Sounds good
Alright, should this post be left open in case you need any other help related to this?
or should it be marked as solved ?
Closest I ever did to manual game dev was a SMW Kaizo ROM Hack, so I have experience with game design and development, mostky graphics, soundtrack, level design and game design but no coding though.
Solved
I would suggest learning more about coding even tho it is hard for rom hack, but that's because AI isn't perfect in coding, and there could be cases where it goes in an infinite error loop
But it's just a suggestion
Ok
Have a nice day, cya!
