#Burner Phone doesn't work in multiplayer

Can confirm- Had a game where I used two phones in a row. It told me the third is live, then that third is blank.

Can confirm this has been an issue for quite some time. This issue has existed at least since the release of multiplayer for sure.
There was a case (4 fights with 3 blanks) when I used 2 disposable phones, he said that the third was blanks and the fourth was combat, then I applied a silencer to the enemy opposite, and after that I guessed that one was blanks and the other was combat (1-2), and after that, when the opponent misses his turn, for some reason the third turned out to be combat (although it was written on the second phone that the third had blanks).
Can confirm even after the update this issue is still present.

Here's a quick log file of a game where one of the phones was blatantly wrong on the second round. Seems like the phone works about 4/5 times now, which is better than it was before.
If phone still can lie, it makes it absolutely useless
Yeah that's why I'm STILL not using it in multiplayer. I really hope they fix it so that we can finally have phones be a viable strategy.
yup. i had a game where i had 9 blanks and 1 live and i got like 3 burner phones. i already knew that this happens before then but this just confirms it. it said that the 5th shell is the live one. but i got curious and used another phone. and apparently the 7th shell is the live one.
spoiler: it was the 5th one lol.

🗿 I tested it ON THIS PATCH LOL, I'm telling you it's not actually fixed. I wanted it to finally be fixed, but no, it's not fully fixed, only partially. The issue still occurs. In fact I posted that message right after the patch dropped and I went and tested it. So yeah, it's not fixed for the time being. Hopefully they'll fully fix it soon, because I'm tired of the phone not working. It's been over a month.

i mean it worked for me now. so they probably just didnt update, but im not pointing fingers
i mean unless they had the game on for more than a day, Steam wouldn't really let them play online without updating the game
At the time of me running more tests, the game version was accordingly v2.2.0.6. So unless Steam itself simply didn't update (which does rarely happen), then the issue should be valid. I already uploaded my log file with the issue in it on the day of the update.

I've run extremely in-depth tests, and can confirm it DOES WORK, but IT'S NOT RELATIVE TO THE TOTAL SHELLS, it's actually RELATIVE TO THE CURRENT SHELL. I didn't understand this at first, but look at this example:
4:4 (L:B)
R1: B
R2: B
From R3, using the phone says that 5th is live. This does NOT MEAN that R5 is live, rather that 5 shells relative to the current round (R3), it will be a live. In this case, it's actually saying R8 is live.
This mechanic has been considered a bug due to singleplayer giving you the turn first every time, and the meta being to every phone quickly in singleplayer when applicable (in most cases).
This is intended behavior as far as I'm concerned. I apologize for claiming this feature was broken.
Dude, we know how this works. We're talking about the case where it straight up tells the wrong shell. Also, once again, there's a bug where your opponent's items display as different ones and you can't tell if they used inverter, or beer, or whatever else is there.
