#SOLVED: multiplayer doesn't start / port fwd? → FIX: open UDP 4379 and 4380 outgoing

Hi! Hmm, let's try some trouble shooting.
Are you the host? Try resetting your wifi router
I was the host a few times. I've reset the router.
I can also confirm this bug exists. I can't host because there's no players in my region, so no real info to provide there but not a single lobby I have joined has ever started.
I've checked firewall settings in Windows11 and BR is not blocked
@misty oracle @tiny flame could we try starting a game together? ill give you the lobby ID
in the meantime, could you please share the following?
- Do you use ethernet or wifi?
- Which country are you playing from?
- Whats your graphics card?
- Could you please share your player log?
Player logs are stored here:
C:\Users/yourname/AppData/Roaming/Godot/app_userdata/Buckshot Roulette/logs

seriously, it would help if we knew which ports need be forwarded on the router's firewall. I'm guessing 4379 and 4380, both UDP, but I'm not sure, can the developer confirm?

was the lobby set to friends only or public? or is friends only actually friends only and not just "you need a code"

mine was set to friends only, so i dont think that affected it
OK, fixed it -- my recommendation is, add an entry in FAQ to inform:
The following UDP ports must be OPEN to ACCEPT traffic OUTGOING:
- 4379
- 4380
Its an bug, fix it by disband the lobby and redo it
maybe something changes when a lobby is public vs friends only, and whatever changes when its public is bugged in some way\

i assume this fix only applies if you are host and/or everyone in a lobby does this fix?
if so i hope this gets patched on a game level soon
