There is a way to get a Steam Key if I had the game in itch.io?

I bought the game a year ago in itch.io, but now the game is on Steam, and I want to play the mp mode with my friends, but I feel it is not fair that those of us who bought it on Itch.io cannot play the mp, so I was wondering if there is a way that I can get a Steam Key for the game? There is the screenshot of my library in Itch.io (it is the only game that I got hahaha)

uhhh im pretty sure that BRML has multiplayer in it, so if you installed that then you could play MP (although you would be playing on custom servers so you would need to get other people to use BRML)

if you really dont wanna pay then this is a very roundabout way of getting it to work

The problem is it doesn't feel fair to have to pay for the game a second time.
I'm having the same issue as the op, but it looks like a solution isn't going to happen.

Maybe instead it may be possible to refund the itch.io version, then buy the steam version?

the steam version is more expensive than itchio's because not only you are paying for the base game you are also paying steam for its licensing fee AND to matchmaking with others who own the game which is where the money is really worth

no? the itch price was raised to 3 dollars when it was updated to 1.2, due to steam's policy not allowing you to offer the same game at differing prices on different platforms

plus it doesn't feel right to basically say to a player that has already purchased a video game, "yeah pay me x dollars or you cant play the game anymore"

you are right the game on itch.io was raised to 3 dollars, although I did buy it back when it was only 1 dollar and 20 cents.

I guess its fine to say "pay the extra dollar and 80 cents for multiplayer" treating it as an extra feature that needs to be payed for by itself, but I should not be charged for the full game again.
