[Bug] Items showing up differently on each others screen in multiplayer

I was playing multiplayer with a friend on voice chat, and I used an adrenaline I had to take a pack of cigs from his items. I made a joke about it and he was like "what cigs? you took a beer from me". It was incredibly stranger because on my screen, I gained a health charge after smoking it, and on his screen, I drank the beer and racked a shell. Wish I had recording of both pov, but we only have a clip from his end. For reference I was on steam deck.
