Granted, this is single player, but the bug I encountered was after the multiplayer update released:
I got $10 for the first round, went on for a second round to check that it wasn't a visual bug, and it was not. Here's video of me getting a crisp $20 for 6 rounds of Buckshot Roulette

You played too slow. This is not a bug, this is a feature. Your initial score in Double or Nothing is based on the amount of time which passes between you signing the waiver and you finishing the third round.

That's an insanely long time. You have 17 minutes until you're out of money. You can take your time after the first 3 rounds. As much of it as you want. But the first three need to be completed fast for the reward to be worth doubling.

Huh, I never knew it worked like that. Last time I played was when double or nothing came out the first time, afaik it used to give you ~70k no matter what.

Ah, right. I think I also recall it giving you a randomized amount close to 70K back when the mode first came out. Steam release changed that.
