When i was playing thru a round during recording, i used the phone to help me predict which shell is going to be blank or live so it indicated the third shell was live. my friend already shot the first shell which was live and i shot the second one it was blank but when i checked third shell with a stolen magnifying glass just in case if the phone is right, it was a blank round but somehow when i shot myself with it... it somehow was a live one.

Phones are relative to current position, not initial position. A better way to say what the phone tells you is that instead of saying “the third shell of the load is blank” it actually means “in three shells, it will be blank”.

so its more of telling you that what shell is going to be blank or live after you use a certain amount of shells
