So it may sound stupid at first, considering the whole point of this game is playing the odds. But, there is a considerable amount of skill in the decision making, especially with the addition of more players at once. Each player has a different set of items and health, making them less or more valuable targets. Playing to conserve your items and keeping in mind the playstyles of everyone at the table. There's a lot more that goes into buckshot roulette once it's no longer 2 players. In my mind it's kind of like poker, yeah, you can get lucky but given enough games, certain people consistently appear at the top. I think this could be a really cool competitive game. Some things would have to exist before ranked can, however, such a public lobbies.
