Why? The whole reason it's like that is so you can figure out how to get around it to beat your opponent. Think of it like if its your turn you have to keep it your turn.

the problem is that is not engaging, the game becomes not "shooting your opponent and gambling", the game becomes "make your turn last as long as possible while not hitting your opponent nor yourself"

also, the inclusion of adrenaline is debatable at least too
i even had a game where i was just forcefully shooting myself with a blank to keep my turn to hopefully get a heal

It has nothing to do with any type of person (?), it has to do with the balancing of the game itself, and how it affects the fun factor. Right now, in a 1v1, if a host gets a good loot drop (particularly a table reversal device), it is almost certain that they will win. That is not good game design for a russian roulette style game where chance is the central focus. It works for 3 or 4 players, but it does not work for two. I don't see what about this point merits so much resistance; the game is just not fun 1v1 if youre good at strategising. There's barely even an element of chance.
