2p mode was alright when it released near the start of the month, havent played in a while but jumped back on today to play 2p duelo maestro with a mate and we keep getting speed inconsistencies that end up making the final duel impossible for my friend since his speed just fluctuates at random areas and makes him completely miss a portal or timing. Sometimes it works, most of the time it just speeds up randomly. Doesnt happen at duelo maestro first drop but occurs strictly on the second drop for the level. video proof given.
#2p mode being buggy as per usual

noticed that it occurs when my friend spawns in. ping could also be a factor? Im only confused because it worked perfectly fine beforehand, then an update drops and its all weird.
its likely a latency or desyncing issue
but unsure as of how it was caused
Yeah, that kinda sucks
is your friend have a higher ping than you?
We had the same rough ping around 230-250ish
i think the invisible second player may cause the unexpected speed change for some reason
I cant tell if I noticed this beforehand, we had issues previously where my friend was showing up in the level despite us being linked (and me being the host), and he was noclipping without any noclip option on his end being on. We fixed it by giving globed a fresh reinstall, then we encountered the potential desync speed changes. I also saw that when I died on a solo wave part, my friends icon and user would show up for half a second and blow up like he died himself. I dont know if any of these points would be relevant but something might correlate with the second invisible player?
Did you want me to try getting my friends pov?
heres what i was saying before with my friends user appearing for a tiny moment when i died. My friend is uploading his video and hes gonna send it in this channel when he can. His user is Gowdspink. (worthy note, ping jumped down to 150 but the weird speed changes still happened like in the first video)
hey im the friend hes been playing with. sorry if any of this information isnt useful to you but heres a recording of my pov.
things to note are at the start of the attempt, where player 1 randomly speeds up 2 seconds after i spawn in even though both of us havent touched the speed portal
- my speed seems to only be affected by player 1 (at the dual cube part transitioning to the dual ball, i get sped up at the same time player 1 enters the speed portal.

at 0:25, thats when the weird speed catchup occurs
June 4th was when we initially started trying out the 2p mode, everything was fine then, only the client desyncs with the icons but thats normal with high ping.
that is incredibly high, definitely don't expect a level like duelo maestro to be playable
are you unable to choose a different server with a lower ping?
dm second dual has invisible walls that will kill you if the other player didn't collect a key yet
to clear that up we use a version where the keys are there but the walls are gone, cause desync is booty
Lowest we can go is asia since we're in australia
150 ping minimum
oof I see
other thing to note is that practice mode is also pretty broken due to difficulties in implementation
and I see you are using it in all the videos
Yeah that was a given when we first tried out 2p, probably is the factor but it was fine awhile ago. Ive also been curious since I cant find any proper video on it or explanation, is there a way me and my mate can direct connect via a vpn like hamachi and set up a server? I figure that would probably still give us abit of high ping but we dont know
you can setup your own server, although it is complicated especially if you've never done server stuff
in the future I'm planning to add peer to peer support to the mod which would make it a lot easier, but for now the only way is to setup a server yourself
Yeah that ptp would be really good lol, gd isnt going anywhere so id be happy to wait awhile for ptp but I figured that due to our recent difficulties with 2p, we'd hit up the server just incase it could be troubleshooted or fixed but ping seems to be the big bad wolf in this. We had looked at server hosting stuff but I dont trust myself enough to do all that. Its good to hear about ptp though!
