#globed fps lag
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
That’s just the player latency and that’s just how it is
The only fix for that specific solution is you and the other player are both near the main server and in the same network
then how does it work this smoothly for some ppl, or is this just what its supposed to look like?
That’s usually what it support to look like for those who has similar connections as you
But other people might be lagging or teleports randomly ahead due to their latency and poor internet
Then yes they’ll be playing smoothly
or what about if ur close to the server and others arent, will it look better for u
But you also have to be closer to the globed servers as well
Hey chat..
wheres the server located tho
One is located at Europe (German) and another is at west us
well im finnish anyway so that distance shouldnt cause extra lag tho right
Then you’ll have smoother experience while others who’s further away won’t
Yea should at least gives u like 50ms from the Europe server
so like german players might see other players moving more smoothly than i see them?
well how well this works for u btw, and how far are u from the server
Oh very far
I’m no where near both servers
So my latency is average 350ms
so does others's movement look very unsmooth for u as well
So I often see others stutters or teleport a lot
In some extent but others will see me like 1-2 seconds behind them
It’s very noticeable when you do deathlink
Like when I die, my friend who’s near the sever will die 1-2 seconds after I died
but anyway it never looks nowhere as good as this for u then ye?
People usually see me play smoothly in their screen since I have a good internet but I’ll be like few seconds behind them
Usually this is perfectly fine if every player has good network
But if you have high latency from the server, you are like few seconds behind from everyone in their screen
so ur own ping doesnt matter in the smoothness tho, but that matters how far the others are from the server
The latency doesn’t affect the smoothness
I’ll show u what I mean in drawing
so is it just that how close the players are to me irl determining how smoothly i see them move?
No, that’s their internet that determines their smoothness
Example: if ur ping is 50ms and I have 300ms
In my screen you are on top of me but in your screen im like behind you by few milliseconds
but their internet would be good enough then to make it smooth if that determines how smoothly i see them move..
Yes
But in your screen if they like further away from the server, they’ll be way behind you by their latency to the server
so literally none of the players move as smoothly as me even if their internet is better
Yes
so that does affect the smoothness anyway
They just need a better internet
Nope
Latency doesn’t affect the player smoothness, it’s their internet that affects it
but internet affects the smoothness anyways
Latency just determines how far behind they are from your screen and to the server
Yes
If they have poor internet, they’ll start lagging or become choppy
and internet also affects latency
Yes
so well if they arent linked then whats the exact thing causing the smoothness issue for me then..
Like others isn’t smooth as you?
cuz if the latency doesnt affect the smoothness anyway
ye way less smooth
like 15fps or something
when im 120
Then they just have problems with their internet, maybe they stutters a bit
FPS does factor their smoothness as well
If they are 60fps then won’t be smooth in your screen
actually sometimes it seems like they have almost 60 fps
so in my perspective, how i see their movement in fps
Yes
bu its prob like 30 on average
If you have high fps, u might see others lower fps not be smooth as you
And that’s just how it is
It just factors based on other players
so uh if i change to 60 fps will they suddenly start to moving smoother
Most likely
because my device or interent cant handle to process every player at 120fps, starts struggling alot and makes them 30fps instead? ._.
Well that’s just how it is, it’s hard to get a very smooth experience from other players since it’s just their internet and their fps that dictates that
or if they have 60fps and i also have 60fps it just starts syncing better or smth
Then yes
most have 60fps on average, but currently my device makes it look its way less
like ye their own fps is good ofc
Well it can’t really be that perfect tho, there’s a lot of factors like latency, fps, their internet speed that could affect it
Both you and other players must be in the exact say latency to be perfectly sync, exact same fps and good internet speed to see a smooth player movement
cuz so latency also doesnt cause any less smoothess in my perspective no matter what latency i and them have
Yes they just look like they are falling behind from you
ye so not even if have 30ms and they have 300fps, they would just be moving smoothly but in the wrong place
Yes correct, even if you and the other player are in the exact same position in game. If the other player has higher latency they it looks like they are behind you in your screen
but doing that by moving smoothly back anyways
so on average the only difference would be a latency of max 50ms
if i set to 60fps
Both players must have the same fps to look smooth when playing
like +-50ms difference
Mismatch fps will create a less smoother movement
It’s more like it will show a elastic band effect
aight so since this latency difference shouldnt cause any less smoothness, it should only happen like if i have 60 fps and they 120
Meaning they’ll kept back and forwarding every time
Yes
You just see them either skipping a step, teleporting or doing an elastic band effect (moving back and forward and back)
but if they are often teleporting cause of a latency difference its basically as bad as seeing them in a bad fps
ye ig device also has something to do here but mine is good anyway, its a samsung s24+
but @rugged cloak yk if the level object count affects how smoothly i see them move tho?
We are same phones
kool
Okay...
then i might ask u aswell, how smoothly u see other players move in globed on average, its around 30fps for me
but i see myself in the fps i set it, either 60 or 120 im always seeing myself in that fps
but everyone else 30
or 45
@sullen pelican so uh do u see others move like that then
u see them exactly as smoothly as that, in ur phone?
So don't worry
Ugh...
I'll watch
Sorry bro...
It's on 116 fps... 😭🙏
our phones have 120
this is what mine looks like at 60 btw, its atleast not better if i set 120
And 1 overpowered phone can have 165 fps
so im asking if ur phone looks any better
Thx
But your phone is cool
i hope this aint the best it could be cuz its pretty laggy
Turn off the energy economy, any you'll get 120 fps
i tried 120 ofc but its possibly even worse
not better atleast
so anyways... is ur own phone smoother when u look at other players
so its smoother for u than that i showed?
No..
btw @rugged cloak u have any idea about that why ytbers like moldy and mulpan see almost all other players almost perfectly smoothly even though they and the other players are nowhere near eachother irl
I haven’t seen both moldy and mulpan plays together before but moldy often plays with other people who is in the same country as him (USA) and plays at the globed main server 2 (us server) so that’s why everyone is playing smoothly
Most of the videos that mulpan does in globed is mainly random players and you never seen any players plays smoothly and can be varied
but almost all of them are smooth for him, even if they are like in eu and mulpan in korea, its not perfectly smooth in classic but better than me but in platformer it looks almost perfect for him unlike for me
so better on average than my phone
also not exactly cuz for example ender is in uk and moldy in canada
but still smooth
As I said before, it’s varied from player to player
but cuz of that this distance irl doesnt seem to determine this whole thing anyway
so like wdym
I’ve already mentioned it before, other people have either good or bad internet
so if my internet is worse its just gonna be consistently worse for me when i look at them?
so seems like i cant just process their movement on phone atleast like mulpan / moldy and many others..
cuz the consistently is clearly worse when it should be the same looking at random players
it should be same as mulpan's then for example, or if its just because of his better internet or better device then
cuz this doesnt determine the whole thing anyway so it gotta be about better internet or device
Like I said, it’s just depends on what device or network speed does each player has
Not every player move smoothly in your screen
so could this case be because mulpan got better internet than me, making all of the players move smoother for him than for me?
Uhm? No?
all of players clearly move smoother, not perfectly all of them but on average smoother, when its about random players anyway
for him
Well try play a large player count level like random processing and tell me what you experience
so basically if i and him looked at the same players around us he would just seem them move smoother than i do even tho the players are same
thats what i tried and those players moved noticeably smoother for him
and its random players
what is your ping
like 40
do you have the overlay enabled
in gd settings? i was testing on phone anyway
so which setting exactly
ye i got that enabled and it says around 40
ok and you're on a phone
ye
@digital violet
Hai, you reached level 3!
You now have image perms in https://ptb.discord.com/channels/1155027487957458974/1207408370974195712
and the other youtubers are not on a phone
ye but should there be that much of difference
wrong
and im on mobile data btw
but im not able to try with my pc / wifi rn tho
on a phone
and is complaining that the players are not as smooth as youtubers who use ethernet on a really good pc
are you rage baiting
ok hmm what about if i just use my wifi with pc
should that just be like as good as ethernet
it also depends on other users wifi
really this post shouldnt not exist if you really thought about it
idk why you felt the need to argue with a mod
or should i use ethernet instead of wifi for most smooth
that can only get you so far
you gotta remember most times youtubers are playing with their friends that also have a similar setup
so their ping is good
it also depends on other players ping
and most youtubers pay for very good internet
this is not an issue with globed
well aight imma test all of the options i got i wanted to know why this happens cuz im also looking to optimize that smoothess for like my own vids yk
