I wanted to check if it's the right procedure for some of these I've found multiple Game of the Year branded as Editions but they are also marked as Bundles including the Main Game and DLC. This makes a weird triangle where it's an edition of one item in the bundle. This doesn't really feel like the appropriate way to use editions. I expect that If I see this I should remove the edition until there is a change to allow multiple editions? I've seen the same with Expanded games that might be a little bit of an abuse of the system.

I am aware that some editions do come with DLC such as Ultimate Editions that come with Season Passes. Is there a more appropriate guideline we can put in place for this?

Examples I don't think count: Cyberpunk 2077, Disco Elysium Final Cut.
Examples I think do count: Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Remix, Borderlands 4: Super Deluxe Edition (in validation to swap to bundle with Vault Hunter Pack)

But GOTY editions generally are editions of the game though. The base game doesn't change, it's the same. It just includes other stuff, which makes it an edition. In this case the extra stuff is DLC which also makes it a bundle.

It becomes incorrect when a bundle includes multiple games rather than just the game that the edition is for. But when it's just DLC+main game it's just another edition of the same game. So your example of Kingdom Hearts seems kinda weird to be an edition, but I'd need an admin to weigh in on that to be sure.

Expanded game + edition also seems incorrect. If you have any examples I can take a look but they likely need to have the edition removed.

WRT the Bundle's should the bundle not also be an edition of the DLC if that is the case, with a standalone release and a bundle release

The Kingdom Hearts example is the purest because it's an edition of the bundle.

Lookinf at the Disco Elysium final cut, I may have found a false positive. There's a bundle of the expanded game which is an edition 🙈

I don't think that makes sense personally. The edition is an alternative release of the base game, which happens to include the DLC. It isn't an edition of the DLC. An edition of DLC would be for example FFXIV Heavensward Collector's Edition.

I don't see a bundle of Disco Elysium Final Cut? I only see a port (mobile release) and an edition (which includes the soundtrack and stuff, so it isn't a bundle)

Hi I just wanted to add a few more examples to the list. As per the contributor guidelines, the following games shouldn't be editions, if I understand it correctly:
"Updated releases with improved visuals or expanded gameplay that would be tracked as remasters, remakes, ports, or expanded games would not be tracked as editions, regardless of “edition” being present in the title. A common example would be “Enhanced Edition” releases"

These are all GOTY/complete editions with all the content, one of them categorized as expanded game (The Witcher 2 enhanced)

Witcher 2 definitely shouldn't be, but the Witcher 3 you are linking aren't remasters/expanded games, they are re-releases with included DLC with no changes to the core game

I haven't played the others you linked but they sound similar in that they should be bundles + edition

Isn't Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate edition like an enhanced edition? According to the release platforms, it didn't release on PS4 and One, so I guess it's not exactly the same base game
