#Extended Waiting Times for IGDB Change Requests

Greetings,

Has something changed recently with IGDB regarding the time it takes for changes to be approved or rejected?

Not too long ago, most of my submissions were reviewed within 3–5 days.
There was even a note mentioning that translation changes usually take up to 72 hours or something - which was perfectly reasonable.

However, I’m now seeing requests that have been pending for over 40 days without any updates.
One of my submissions, has been waiting 153 days and 21 hours, and it only requires someone to approve a few new screenshots.

Could you please clarify if there’s been a change in the review process or queue times?

Gratitude

The review process is till the same with the same priority system in place. Staff is real short and there are thousands upon thousands of submissions in the queue

extra note:
i have a new IGDB account now, since my old Twitch account got hijacked and was not able to recover it
the old IGDB account was quite higher level, maybe because of that it had a higher prio and was more reliable/trustable regarding changes
can this be the case ?

it will only be the case if it comes to actually reviewing the submission; it doesn't affect the priority score unless you were verified with your old account

Then you have to get re-verified with your new account

What has that to do with submission verification?

To be clear regarding verification: That means you're a dev/publisher? If so your previous account would have been associated with a specific company. This means only submissions from games associated with that company would be prioritised.
Not certain which types of contribution are frmo that screenshot, but just to be clear verified only boost validation for your games.

What's you're previous account, i can take a look. Happy to reverify your new one too, you just need to email us

Oh, then i got it wrong.
My previous account was not associated to any specific game or company.
Just had a lot of levels and titles, so i thought this was helping with the approving time, since the account was considered trusted or something.

More trustworthy sure, but being verified is a specific status for game developers/publishers for their associated game. The amount of Karma you've earned don't speed up the process directly, more of giving a guarantee of trust on the actual submissions

Then something definitely went wrong with IGDB approval process 😄

#

i've never seen such delay for years

Nothing went wrong. IGDB is understaffed for the sheer volume of submissions they receive every day; the priority system was implemented due to this problem so they could more easily accept the submissions that deems higher priority by score.

Sure the system is not perfect but it is overall better than what was before
