Yesterday I submitted an update to this company, fixed its name to the proper spelling, added a description/history, a picture, year, country.. and it was discarded without any explanation.

I don't have the details of the change, but if you changed it to match the duplicate you reported (https://www.igdb.com/companies/shout-design-works) then we actually have no way of accepting that change, as we don't have the capability to have two companies with the exact same name currently.
Yep, looking at our logs, that's exactly what happened.
