I didn't see any passwords or verification layers of any kind but if a malicious actor was able to physically take the device, they could do a lot of damage very quickly.
I don't think it'd be a bad idea to at least build them as option but consider physical biometrics like a fingerprint reader or voice recognition.

so maybe just every time you connect from a new IP address, you have to enter a password you setup ahead of time

the new IP connection feature would be amazing. but i think this would also greatly benefit from having the recordings made by the user used to trin their specific model on their voice and how they speak which would help beef up security and give a better experience over time. Not saying your idea is wrong, we just need both to make the best product
